  1. Will do. I've got to get some rubber sorted now. Probably from America so it'll be a week or 2.....but will def post up picks once done.
  2. Thanks. About $440 plus tax. This includes going back to bare metal.
  3. Bump. Any interest in these bits? Make me an offer.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback. I can get 4 Bridgestone RE01Rs for about $1200 in 255/40 from the US, so maybe that's the go. I'll wear out the R spec I've got on my 16's and maybe get a set of Rs for the 17s as and when. It's funny as my experience on my Dunlop D01J seems to be far more positive than most are decribing in this thread. Perhaps they perform quite differently to the RE55s. Anyhow, thanks for all your advice.
  5. What semis were they RE55s WT? Or something else? I've run Dunlop semis on my 16" and they're fantastic in all road conditions and are not that noisy. Thanks.
  6. I can't really get a decent tyre in 245/45.
  7. If you've seen this question as part of another thread my apologies, but I never did get to the bottom of it. I'm think of buying 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 for my R33 GTR rims which are going on my R32 GTR. I've had the rims on my car with 245/45 tyres, which looked a bit tall in profile but overall filled the guards nicely. Each of the above sizes gives a smaller tyre diameter. The 245/40 is 25mm less in diameter and 255/40 is 17mm less. These seem like small amounts, but are they? Without trial fitting it's hard to know if these dimensions will make the rims and tyres look too small in the guards. Any thoughts, comments or advice?
  8. Thanks Pimpster. What about noise? How is that?
  9. clearly these are a track tyre, but for me my car does so little mileage I'm considering just keeping them on all the time. This means they're got to be good in the wet and whilst I'm aware they're going to be noisier than a road tyre, not be so OTT in the noise dept to drive me crazy. Also, any views on how a 235 will fit on a 9" rim? Too small. Be glad to hear from anyone who has experience of running RE55s on the road or has free advice for me Thanks, Nick.
  10. Multicoat in Scoresby. Cheers for the compliments I was fishing for! . Looking forward to getting them on.
  11. Thanks dude.
  12. Precious Steel Pearl. I think they have a little too much blue in them but hope once they're fitted up they'll look great. I've had them machined and powdercoated and they are now MINT. 255/40/17 R specs go on them next. They're for my R32 GTR. Thoughts?
  13. From memory I paid around $1500 for supply and install. I'd imagine there is a fair bit of mucking around. Mine is tucked in behind one of the cutouts in the front bar, and required some of the internal parts of the front bar to be cut away to make way for it and its associated plumbing. It is a neat job. One I'd hate to attempt myself, but I'm no spanner-man. This price includes braided lines.
  14. Injectors SOLD. Bump it up for everything else.
  15. My experience of owning an R32 GTR is that from a repairs and maintenance point of view they are very heavy on your wallet. You need to use specialised workshops who will charge out handsomely and parts are not cheap if you want to do the job properly (which you kind of have to do if it's not to unravel its self on you. Do your research into the cost of R&M. Basic engine re-build is $10k.......
  16. anyway, I guess the point is, buy the car based on it's condition, mods, price, history etc. don't get yourself bowled over by the fact it's a nismo edition. just buy it cause it's a good example of a 32 (if it is). Couldn't agree more. It's not an investment (you will lose) and how much you lose will depend on the car its self and what has / has not been done to it. If you're not making money out of it (which you're not) then you need to enjoy the car and stem the potential flow of cash fixing it up if it's no good, so always buy on the merrits of the car in question. I guess the Nismo thing may help it hold its value but I dare say any extra expenses you will incurr as a result of buying a dud car (Nismo or not) will far outweigh this. I guess if you gotta have a Nismo, just cos you do, then do your homework, screw them down (as they are generally not selling well) and go for it. I'd be finding a schmiko workshop and getting them to go over it with a fine tooth cliche. My 2c worth.
  17. Tyres on eBay. Auction ends Thursday 19.00.
  18. Last guy I spoke to at Protek said they do not sell RE01Rs even though they are on the Australian Bridgestone website.......Perhaps I spoke to the wrong guy.
  19. www.tirerack.com They are in the US but depending on what you buy they can be significantly cheaper than local. Prices are on their website. Cost about $200USD for freight so might not be economical with only 2. See how you go. Just priced 245/40/17 at Trackside and they're $440 per corner.......Ouch. They're $220 USD from tirerack for 255/40/17. Be cheaper getting them from the US even with only 2 of them.
  20. Bump. Don't be shy. I'm open to offers.
  21. Can aqnyone recommend a good quality brake shop in this area? Preferably someone who is known to SAU and knows GTRs. Any recommendations? Cheers.
  22. Bumpo. Still for sale. Cheap to buy, good value 17" tyres.
  23. I've spoken to him. Thanks.
