  1. Yeah I do work for smithy. Yeah someone told me that one of you's down at parts for cars had a skyline. You don't own the black r32 v-spec by any chance? You are more then welcome to look at my car. I am going to try and organize a meet up in the near future once I can get into contact with a few more owners. Also if you are keen the Brisbane/Ipswich and maybe even gold coast owners are coming up to toowoomba on the 15th of may for a meet and greet. Their should be some really nice cars there. Would be nice to get a good turn out for the toowoomba guys
  2. Fuse box is pretty easy to do from what i remember. The only pain in the arse bit is getting the wire bit of the bonnet release to pull through. When removing it you will need to drop the wheel arch liner out makes the job a bit easier. If you have mud flaps you will have great troubles getting the clips out. You shouldn't have any troubles getting a fusebox. I am not 100% sure but i think BA/BF fuse boxes are the same
  3. Its usually the bonnet release lever that snaps off the fuse box. Is the fuse box where the bonnet release mounts to it damaged at all? Its a common problem with BA/BF falcons for them to snap. I have changed a few of the bonnet releases over. You need to change the whole cable over with it. Absolute prick of a job to do.
  4. Hey I am in Toowoomba. I have some spare time on Saturday. Haven't had much to do with R33 but am a panel beater and have some idea removing and replacing dashes and heater/ac related items. 9. I am starting this topic trying to find all the Toowoomba Skyline Owners on this site. So if your in Toowoomba post up in here so i know how many are out there and would like to try and organize a meet up as some point in the near future to get to know you all. 11. +1. Thats what we tell alot of people at work,if you have the person who hit you details go through your insurance it will be much easier and won't affect your no claim bonus/ premiums. When you are getting an insurance policy tell them you want the option to choose your preferred repairer. Then when you do need work done they will tell you to get a certain amount of quotes (usually 2) one from their preferred repairer, then get one from yours. And if they are similar in price you should be able to take it to your repairer. But in saying that prices can vary from shop to shop depending on whats your insurance company and whether the panel shop want to do the job or not cause if the shop quotes high and gets the job its a win for the shop as they will be getting more money. My brother's car was reversed into at a shopping centre and got a quote from the panel shop I work at quote came to about $1100. The person that hit him thought we were trying to rip them off so they told my brother to take it to another repairer in town where they had work done before and their quote came to $2100
  12. I have been telling all of my friends that are with RACQ to get out. They are that bad that smash repairers are not going to be doing work for them. At work we are only doing repairs for customers who are with RACQ andf have had work done with us before
  13. Depends on the amount of rust. If its just a little bit of surface rust then just wire wheel the area and use rust converter however if it's rusted through it will need to be either have the holes welded up or a new patch welded in. Fish oil/ rust proofing will only help prevent rust not stop it. I fixed the rust in my R32 2 weekends ago took me a whole weekend to do but lucky i am a panel beater so i had a workshop full of the right equipment to fix it properly and then got the painter to paint it during the week for me. I had to weld new patches in the inner and outer wheel arches My rust was cause by the old owner in Japan putting on to big of a tyre and hit a bump and dragged the wheel arch down. It would of been an easy fix for him to get done but he must of left it like that for about 10 years for it to rust as bad as it was but is all fixed now and the car looks great with all the rust gone
  14. Are we talking about power from the horse's shaft or hooves?

  19. Hey I am looking for the heater box actuator/motor Thats what it looks like Thanks Chris
  20. Hey do you have a heater box actuator?
  21. Hey guys I am chasing a few things for my R32 I am looking for a heater box actuator and a factory radio/tape player. Both must be in working order. Thanks Chris
  22. Yes chassis rails can be repaired depending on how badly damaged they are. The can also be replaced but both repairing and replacing is a big job. I think your better off going with the normal GTR for the same price cause if you get the V-spec its going to cost a fair bit of coin to get it all fixed up to a standard that your happy with the car
  23. I am not an owner yet 9 car arrived in Aus on friday) but don't let the engine problems bug you too much. All depends on what you want if you want something with a modded engine or standard. If you do go for a modded engine make sure that they have been done right using good parts and a mechanic who know his GTR. Every GTR will have been flogged at least once in its life. Try to find 1 that has had the bottom end freshed up, bottom end bearing ect. If your worried about the oil starvation i am pretty sure it was fixed in 92 but i know some people on here put an extra half litre of oil in juist to be safe. Best way to prevent engine failure is to take great care of it to make sure it is running in top shape. Use good quality oils and coolant. Also find one without the ceramic exhaust wheels in the turbos it chasing more power as they tend to fail due to the age and tend to shear off when asked to provide anything about 1.0 bar of boost. Hope any of that helps
