Not Mine. But I feel SP Engineering deserves credit where it is due.

New 2.8 Engine Build Help Wanted.
AllenSaldi replied to elrodeo666's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Doesn't HKS offer a complete short block build for the RB28? I'm not sure if you need to provide the block or what, but that might be something you should look into. -
Its got a huge flow rate! I'm just wondering who on here has used it ... -Allen

Hey guys, I'm having a really hard time finding parts and what not (like usual here in the USA)! I've got an R34 GT-R and need to know what other parts I should get suspension wise. I'm going for around 500whp and want to do drag racing with it, some time attack, and a lot of street use. Keep in mind I don't mind too stiff of a ride. So far I ordered the HKS Hypermax III coilovers. I need to know what else I should get like bushings and tension rods and what not. And yes, I've used the seach function lol -Allen

Show Us Your Oil Catch Can Setup
AllenSaldi replied to johnbarry88's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Go to the RIPS website ... Rob makes some beautiful catch tanks! -
That is a very good point you have made. I guess I'm not thinking with my head on this subject. But like I said before rob has also proven what he can make these cars do ... so I guess since I started this topic to see what people prefer, I got good turn outs. I am also still leaning towards the R.I.P.S kit by the way. Rob if you are still involved with this thread could you throw up a mod list on the Blue RB30 R34 GT-R for the guys here.
-
Yes I have seen those, but what about the cars that have been built in japan before RIPS was building his setups? That kinda says something to me. Not bashing Rob is anyway at all, he is an amazing guy! But this is why i'm so torn on what I want to do

I was checking out websites for oil pumps and other stuff and I found a Reimax high flow oil pump. Seems like this thing can pump quite a bit. Has anoyne used it or anything? Is it worth buying? http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bccatpar...category=engine Thats the link for it, its more towards the bottom of the page.

The more and more RH9 cars I see from Japan, they almost all use HKS 2.8 strokers with HKS head parts. I checked the max Rpm for the HKS stokers and head components and they both said 10,000+Rpm. I'm starting to realize the build whats proven theory.

I'm personally still in favor of Rob's RB30 build. Not only does it seem like the best deal to me, but it seems like the best way to go if your going to maintain some streetability and drag race it. Not only that, but I've been talking to Rob via e-mail and he is one of the nicest most helpful guys you will every meet! Thanks for all the help and co-operation rob!

What front lip is that?
-
I'm actually leaving the Country for work soon, but while I'm away the car is one of the things I think about most LoL . So I'm sure I will decided by the time I get back on what I plan on doing.

I got in contact with Rob From RIPS today and basically for a fully built turn key RB30/RB26 good for 850+whp what I'm looking at is in the area of $40,000 plus. This kit is basically a turn key kit with everything and I mean everything included. I was adding things up for the total build and its actually more, plus you gotta factor in all the time and extra labor when it come to building a whole car like that. So looks like I know which route I'm going. I've just decided I'm gonna put the car down for a while and just do the entire build at once. I better start working more hours and saving more money lol!
-
Another good point ... If you have the money, why not just buy the best of the best parts. Then you should not have to cryo treat!
-
Cryo is a big thing here in the states. Guys have their blocks done, cranks, rods, pistons even bearings. I've never heard anything but people talking good about it. So if you have the extra coin, why not just get it done to be safe right?

Help For Turbo Choice... Rb26 S15 Drag Car
AllenSaldi replied to den001's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
+1 FTW -
+1 ... All the work I have seen come from your shop is absolutely stunning, not to mention I have watched some pretty astounding videos where some of the cars you built are at the drag strip. Props my friend, props! -Allen
-
Nice .... I'm starting to consider a built RB30 Block with a RB25 Head. Turbo of choice for this combination (street/drag in mind hehe) would be a Garrett GT42R LoL
-
How do you drive the car (drag, street, circuit, etc.) and how often?

Help For Turbo Choice... Rb26 S15 Drag Car
AllenSaldi replied to den001's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Garrett GT42R .... FTW Link for Garrett GT42R http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...R_774595_8.html Thats just one option of the turbo ... there are a ton of different sizes and stuff you can get. But That would be my choice on a drag car. -Allen -
Well (to my knowledge) a car that is set up with MAF usually has a recirculating BOV(Nissan, Chevy, Volkswagen). This is because the MAF directly calculates the air flow entering the engine. In a MAP sensor system without the MAF is called a "Speed Density" system(Dodge likes to use these system). That means that the airflow is calculated instead of being measured directly. The reason for a car with MAF running like crap when you vent to the atmosphere is because the engine is expecting that excess airflow to be plumbed back into the intake system. They run richer because the air isn't there but the fuel is (rough idle, black smoke between shifts). With a MAP Sensor it either sees the air or it doesn't and make the adjustments as needed. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm just going by what I know and I'm sure someone out there know a lot more than I do. -Allen P.S. - My avatar, is actually a shirt I own LoL ... I get some funny looks when I wear that thing LoL!

As I have perviously states in one of my pervious statements, It is dam near impossible for me to get my hands on an RB30 bottom end LoL. And I'm sure as hell not paying our my arse hole for the OS Giken Kit no matter how many people say how good it is LoL. But the RB30 would be my choice if I wanted to do with a BIG signle LoL. I'm just so undecided on what I would like this build to result in .... I've just got so many thoughts going through my head with all these possibilities LoL

From the sounds of things, I'm starting to look into the JUN 2.7 kit, HKS and Tomei 2.8(its kinda hard for me to get rb30 parts here in America hehe). From What I have seen the guys from CRD like to run that kit. I so want something that "revs like a sewing machine" LoL. The only issue now is my turbo size(I'm starting to realize that its always something else that needs to be figured out after you answer one questions). I want to go top mount twins that are externally gated, but im not sure what size turbo I should get. I've seen a lot of cars (via youtube, streetfire, magazines, etc.) running these big twins on top like in this video, , but I can never find what size they are.Its kinda funny with this forum though becuase I wait up all night for a response browsing this forum, but I always seem to forget you guys over there are on a completely different time zone that I am LoL! But in all seriousness, this is the best, most helpful, nonbashing forum I've ever been on. And I really do appreciate all the help you guys have given me thus far and know I can always count on the right answer from you guys.
