  1. Its well known that odometers are tampered with, which is why you should buy a car based on its condition, not how many k's it has. If you're buying a car from Japan, have someone like Iron Chef or Beer Baron organise a person to inspect it.
  2. That would imply that you're street racing quite a bit.
  3. Ah thank you guys. Did read that in another thread but it sounded a little small.
  4. I've done a quick search but couldn't find the answer. Can anyone tell me what size hex socket I need to remove the head from my R33?
  5. As stated above, the solicitor doesn't need any mechanical knowledge, they'll just use a qualified person to do a report or appear at court if it comes to that. You could try Dale Battley of Battley & Co. He handled a recent car related matter for me and did an excellent job. Phone number is 03 9670 0450.
  6. I like this idea, you could also try: Anal lube Blow up sex doll Baby oil Wrist bandage It would get a laugh from anyone who can read Japanese
  7. My reply was to the no ABN comment, didn't say anything about them being able to import cars because of it...
  8. They do have an ABN: ABN: 46 372 838 328 Entity name: BUTROS, MENA Trading name: Osaka Performance Imports
  9. Well I have 20 minutes to kill so went through just cars quote. Age: 20yo Car purchase price: $10,000 Accidents/infringements/fines: 0 Comprehensive cover: Yes Non turbo: $2000 Third party: $400 Plus close to $2000 in excess if you do make a claim. Just get a 4cyl honda mate...
  10. Insurance - Before buying any car you should check to see what you will be paying for insurance, or if you can actually get insurance. Do a few online quotes through justcars.com, aami.com etc etc to see what you can afford. Some friendly advice from me would be to get at least 3rd party insurance, get fully comprehensive if you can't afford to loose $10,000. Keep in mind that someone may run in to you without insurance and if you're not covered you may never get your car replaced. Fuel - For a while I was using $100 fuel a week, that was a lot of driving, but my average is $50.
  11. Not sure where you live, but registration is roughly $600 a year in Vic and insurance can range from $500 to $5000 depending on the finer details... For instance, comprehensive insurance on an R33 Skyline for me was $2500 a year, 25 years old, car locked in a garage, no speeding offences and no loss of license.
  12. This is correct. They've been trialling these cameras on Dorset Rd in Croydon for a while now, one of my dads friends was pulled over by the chase car up the road a few months back. By the time you've passed and gone a few hundred meters up the road they know everything about you and whether they need to pull you over for outstanding warrants, no registration, stolen vehicle etc etc. Edit: The camera was past the servo just up from the Dorset Hotel and the chase car was up near Eastfield Rd. Probably 500 meters max, so they get the info very quickly.
  13. Battery powered is sounding good so far. Not having to cart a compressor around is a plus and if I could get 2 days out of it I probably wouldn't need a generator. $950 isn't too bad. I've been looking at the Dewalt for about $600, have to check out the snap on.
  14. I'm in need of a rattle gun for some work I'll be doing in the middle of nowhere. Not sure which combination I should use: Rattle gun + compressor + generator or Battery operated rattle gun + generator My question would be, are the battery powered rattle guns any good? I'll be using it to work on cars and farm machinery, anything from removing wheel nuts to stripping drive trains/suspension/engines and I'm not sure if the electric option will have the power to do this. Any input would be appreciated
  15. Who is the person selling it? Is it a well known importer or just some guy off the street? From the info you've supplied it sounds a little dodgy.
  16. This is very true. If you can't afford to pay the fines immediately you can negotiate a payment plan with them, you can even get the fine and penalties reduced. I recall a case where one of our clients had $20,000+ in outstanding fines, while he was at our office getting advice on what his options were in relation to these fines he parked in a loading zone... and received a fine. :D
  17. http://online.fines.vic.gov.au/fines/Conte...=1&l=107-50 "It is a serious offence to tamper with or remove a wheel clamp that has been fitted to a vehicle. The maximum penalty for a first offence is in excess of $6,805* or six months imprisonment." Also read somewhere a while back that Sheriffs have been advised to take pictures of the cars location when they've put the wheel clamp on to avoid people removing them and denying that the clamp was ever fitted.
  18. So you falsified evidence relating to your car to make it legal for you to drive and then post that information on a public forum along with all the information required to identify you should someone from the police read this? You might want to edit your original post mate...
  19. Is there a difference between the front calipers and disks from the 33 and 34 at all?
  20. Only have whats currently listed mate. Blow off valve is sold.
  21. A few bits that are left over from my 1995 R33 GTS-t. All parts are in good condition. Parts can be collected from Bayswater North Victoria or posted, let me know where you are and I'll quote a price. Payment can be made in cash, bank deposit and paypal. Coil packs - $150 Drivers side window regulator/motor - $90 Stock blow off valve - $30 Climate control - $30 Front brakes - Calipers, pads and disks. 9mm thickness on pads and about 30mm on disks - $270 Interior bits - $10 each
  22. I recall hearing about people stealing cars and removing parts such as the full interior, including the dash, which wouldn't damage any parts of the car. The insurance company would mark it a financial write off and send it to fowels or pickles. The person who stole the car in the first place would buy it back and replace all of the removed parts and sell it for a decent profit.
  23. Could be this one: http://www.drivemycar.net.au/
