Thanks Adz. At least I'll get something for them, should pay for the diesel to cart them and maybe, if I'm lucky, some beer money Just tried calling a few wreckers in Seymour, disconnected, disconnected and the last rang out. Perhaps the slowing economy killed these places off?
-
They could go to a wrecker. Some of them are still drivable. Need to find a car wrecking yard in Seymour or nearby. Does anyone here know of one?? Thats a hell of a drop off Bangn. If the prices have dropped that much I'll just leave them there for a few years and hope the prices go back up.

It makes perfect sense. It causes chaos when someone stops in the middle of the tracks. I've seen two cars over the years plowed in to by trams because they didn't do a hook turn and sat in the middle of the tracks waiting to turn. Both times the tram driver could have stopped too. Maybe they wanted a day off?

I'll give that a go closer to the week I have free to do it. A couple of years back I got $150 for a car, but the scrap prices have dropped off from what I understand.
-
Does anyone know the current prices for scrap cars? I have about 10 cars I want to get rid of. Anyone had any recent experience with this? Searched google and found nothing but sites offering "Free car removal". I'll be loading them on to a truck and taking them to a scrap yard myself, but if the current scrap price is bugger all then they can sit there and rust away....

Sounds like a rocker cover gasket leak. If you do a search theres probably a DIY write up on how to fix it.

One of the importers on here would be able to give a better answer than myself on this car, but from my view theres something not right with that GTR. Its listed as having 57,000 k's and is only $9,500. If the K's are genuine then its most likely had some serious accident repairs (making it not eligible for import) to be priced so low or its been wound back, has done 300,000k's and is on its last legs. There have been a few R33 GTRs for sale in the last year between $18-21,000 that I've seen. All of them were in poor condition and in need of some serious cash being spent on them in the near future. If you speak to J-Spec, Iron Chef etc you'll be able to get an idea of price for a landed car. You might save a couple of thousand $ through importing, but you won't be saving $5000 by buying one and shipping it here. -

That 34 has a 2ltr engine and isn't eligible for import. Its the bottom of the range model (2000cc/auto/non turbo) which is why the price is so low. -

As mentioned above, speak to a solicitor. Don't just go to the local guy down the road either, make sure its a solicitor who deals specifically with traffic offences. Its a long shot, but you may be able to get surveillance camera footage from a nearby shop. If it shows that you weren't doing anything illegal it may help you.

Ah okay, so it would be $140,000 or close to that. Still a $40,000 saving over Aus delivered.

If I read correctly on the Prestige website, the prices quoted don't include luxury car tax, so you would need to add another 33% to the price. So if you pay $122,000 for the car it will end up around $160,000 with LCT. Is this correct?

For sale: 1975 Leyland Mini "S" 998cc. Selling without RWC. Price: $3000 ono and willing to swap for a late 80's or early 90's Honda (Prelude, Integra, Accord etc) Reason for sale: Was to be a project car to work on over the next couple of years, unfortunately my daily driver was written off and I need to sell this to finance a replacement. If you're looking for a fast car, this is definitely not for you Condition: The Mini is in good condition for its age, there are a few dents but very little rust. The passanger side will need a little work and paint. It starts easily and drives well. It passed a roadworthy in November last year and has done about 4000k's since. For a roadworthy it will need a few things. It needs two new front tyres and a camber adjustement, it has an oil leak (where the selector shaft goes in to the gearbox), there is a small hole in the exhaust (which could be fixed quite easily, the rest of the exhaust/muffler/headers are all fine), it will need the wheel arches attached (a brand new set of 4 are included), the headlights have stopped working so the bulbs may be blown or possibly a fuse(??), there is a shudder when the clutch reaches the friction point when taking off. The following were replaced in October of last year: All new Bilstein suspension New hi-lo's New radiator Larger LS petrol tank installed 5 new Falken tyres (the fronts now have camber wear and need to be replaced) Also included in the sale are: A Moutney leather steering wheel All new carpet and clip set from minisport.com.au ($190) 4 new plastic wheel arches from minisport.com.au ($215) New selector shaft oil seal from minisport.com.au Location: Bayswater North, Victoria Contact: 0415 724 621

I've got one from a series 1.5 if you want to try it? Not sure if its the same as a series 2.

Its ridiculous that you should have to wear the cost of the damage (without at least getting some sweet, sweet revenge!) , but I do agree that its always best to go about everything in the correct and legal manner. Just hard to control the temper when retards keep running in to your cars Lets just hope that any of the people on SAU driving without insurance/illegally are man enough to pay up if and when they screw up.
-
From what I recall the R33 with the RB20 is not eligible for import. There are a few ER33 GTS non turbo Skylines with the RB25de for sale in the "For Sale" section at the moment.

Mate, I'm not acting tough, just tired of being screwed over by people who don't have insurance. Its beyond a joke that a person can destroy someone elses car while running a red light and turn around and say "Too bad, just sue me, good luck!". I'm sure you'd be rather pissed and considering illegal ways of retrieving whats owed to you if someone had done the same thing to you.
-
He's a very luck man. Insurance companies will generally do anything to get out of paying. The person who hit my car was driving LEGALLY in a fully insured car and his insurance company isn't willing to come to the party. So now I'm suing him personally, if he doesn't pay up I'll get a judgement against him and send the sheriffs office to his house to collect items to the value of $18,000 and auction them off. If they can't get that much I'll bankrupt him and have his house sold to reimburse me. 3 weeks before that accident I was driving my dads 4 wheel drive when a guy in his daughters car ran in to the back of me with no insurance. $7000 damage to my cay and his daughters car written off. He's looking at about $15,000 that he has to come up with. People driving illegally and therefore uninsured or driving without insurance are really starting to piss me off. As mentioned above, next person who hits me without insurance is going to be dealing with all of the pent up rage currently accumulating.

Harlem Globe Trotters? Hilarious mascot btw!

I find the retards in this thread entertaining. That is until they run in to my car and their insurance wont come to the party because they were driving a turbo car on their P's. Kind of like the guy who recently ran a red light, wrote my car off and is facing an $18,000 bill. The next person who runs in to me without insurance will not be receiving a letter form my lawyer, I'm going to take a more personal approach to retrieve the money owed to me....

Sorry Noddle, its an auto from what I recall.

I have a 240K C110 thats been sitting in a paddock for about 10 years. Also have a 260Z thats been there for a few years aswell... Just wondering if it would be worth stripping and selling them. Is there a demand for parts at all?
