  1. I've seen it in Brisbane too. Yesterday driving down Boundary Rd at Coopers Plains not far after the railway crossing heading towards sunnybank way. Green Van with the "Every K Over Is A Killer" (geez I hope I don't die doing 61km/hr!) was parked SO far from the road that I have no idea how they got accurate readings (i'm not exaggerating either, it looked like it was someones van parked in front of their house that had a lot of grass area out the front), and the sign wasn't before approaching the van, rather it was a bit after it. not a lot, but you would notice this sign when it was too late. What did the sign say? Well if I hadn't seen one close up before I couldn't really tell you cause the thing was so small and might as well have not been there at all! It's on the ground too! So how are the vehicles in the right lane supposed to know when the sign barely comes up to the height of an average car tyre! The road wasn't very busy either and everyone knew the van was there hence the slow down to 50km/hr... so needless to say a few hours later when I drove past again the van was no where to be seen. Not making enough money obviously, had to find another hot spot!
  2. lol that could be true Dan... it's the same concept as a Hoax virus. non-existant virus, warnings spread like wildfire, sometimes has the same effect as the real thing. Police force issue warning about non-existant speed cameras, the news and media make a big hype about it, everyone tells their friends and family about it, suddenly everyones being careful not to be caught by non-existant speed radars. But yes, that wouldn't make money so I don't think they would do that... and you can't say they won't also use marked mobile radars as well... they need to make as much money as possible in the holiday season *sarcasm* But hey, either way, if it does indeed help reduce the death toll and accidents over the holiday period, then that's a good thing, there's no denying that... but I still don't believe that this is the way of going about it! What makes me even more annoyed about these cameras, is the number of cases where they've been proven to be incorrectly set up and drivers have been incorrectly fined, but most just take the fine. There was a case in Victoria (I'm pretty sure it was Victoria, I can dig up the article later) where one driver took it through court over a long period of time, got hold of the technical manuals for the mobile cameras, and in the end it was proven that they were set up WAY out of specifications in the manuals, and the police department by court order had the equipment confiscated and ordered to make a pay-out. In the end, whilst most drivers may be doing the right thing, its cases like this that make a driver extra wary about mobile radars and slow down even more to ensure that they don't get fined. Afterall try proving your innocence if your incorrectly fined for speeding in a Skyline...
  3. *rolls eyes* Definitely not the way to solve speeding problems. Hidden mobile vans etc.. don't make people slow down unless they see them. Yes they shouldn't be speeding, but a mobile radar that is "out of site" isn't going to prevent people speeding and "apparently" reduce accidents.. it's simply a cost effective way of raising revenue whilst having little-to-no effect on the rate of speed related accidents. There are some roads that are very easy to speed through, some of which can be a bit dangerous to speed on because of the level of intersections on the road. Put up a fixed speed camera and people won't speed through there! oh but then they won't make money.... It wouldn't piss me off so much if they approached this problem better.. but hey it's a bit hard to fix the problem when the problem is making them money. At least put the money back into the roads like they apparently do... i've been driving over the same pot-hole since moving to QLD nearly 3 years ago! If they really wanted to improve driver behaviour (and by this I don't simply mean speeding), then a greater police presence on the roads is what they need. I'm sure most people when they see a Police car on the road, they pull their ass into line and do the right thing! Undercover police cars are much the same thing as hidden radars in my opinion...they simply catch people of guard, whereas a known police presence ensures that people behave on the roads. Once again though, having a greater police presence on the roads costs money and doesn't make as much revenue as a van parked many meters from the road, much like the one I saw yesterday. The only issue with that too though is that drivers tend to overreact when they drive into a Police lineup with cameras. You can almost always tell when there's one up ahead as traffic almost comes to a halt! Of course for drivers of modified imports, a greater presence isn't a good thing either, as lets face it, majority of the time you get stereo-typed and unfairly targeted. Double edged sword I guess. I think the Australia Government needs to take a page out of other countries to see how they handle these issues. Take a look at Germany for example... this article here pretty much sums up my argument: http://www.caradvice.com.au/60110/fast-is-safe-in-germany/
  4. Gunmetal Grey R32 with SAUQLD and Splitfire stickers on the upper right of windshield at Garden City yesterday... nice ride
  5. Spotted a nice Bayside Blue R34 GTR on Boundary Road, Coopers Plains this morning with NSW plates.. couldn't see an SAU sticker though
  6. Yeah gear ratios could be better since the turbo conversion... I believe an LSD upgrade will make them more suitable? something to consider later on I guess Yeah doesn't shift AS hard since the transfer casing leak left me almost stranded at Garden City Car Park after it all but lost pressure! Still nice and snappy though, and to be honest I prefer a bit smoother for daily driving as 1st to 2nd off-throttle shifting was a bit of a jolt!
  7. not sure at 12PSI, wasn't much more cause the power loss to the failing gbox, haven't had it dyno'd for a power run since, but definitely pulls a lot harder! which to me is more important than a peak power result. It's the power under the peak curve that counts for daily driving.
  8. Lack of TCS on GT's shouldn't be a problem then As for cost? well... I went the expensive path. My gearbox showed a fair bit of flaring after turbo conversion, then after bumping up the boost to 12PSI the gearbox pretty much had its day. Diagnosis was complete overhaul. $3300 for overhaul with HD Kevlar Clutchpacks, HD ClutchBands, new solenoid set, overhauled torque lock up plate, new transmission oil, valve body upgrade. that's a discounted price as I wasn't expecting it to be so much. I would also advise a transmission fluid cooler (next on my list). I was going to do that sooner but my transfer casing turned out to be porous and leaking out the top and had to be sent for repair (another $500 odd dollars) so I'm still without trans cooler. I look back now, and if I knew how bad it was going to be, I would have bought a second hand GTT Box in good cond. and kitted that, but anyways all done now! allow around $500 odd for a valve body upgrade. If you do a transfer service (they replace your valve body and take yours to upgrade for the next customer) it works out a bit cheaper.
  9. Where abouts are you located? If in Brisbane, Western Suburbs Automatics do Performance boxes and completely overhauled mine and rebuilt the valve body, installed HD Kevlar Clutchpacks and Clutch Bands, new solenoid set (if you're going to work the gearbox, might as well do solenoids as R34's have a history of shit**ng themselves in their age). Car shifts really quick now! If a gearbox is flaring a bit a valve body upgrade can clear this up and strengthen the box. If it's beyond that point, then a valve body upgrade will just make it worse and the box will need rebuilding/overhaul. You'll find the majority of auto specialists will ask to test drive before performing the upgrade. With that said, MV Automatics, Knox Automatics or Western Suburbs Automatics will be able to help you out. The other option is to throw in a manual box, but there's a lot of labour work involved with pedals, clutch master cylinders etc... not to mention the R34 Automatic ECU has the shift logic built in and I'm not sure whether you will need to change the ECU also...
  10. It's been so long I forget how much I originally bought them for lol Make an offer man and I'll throw em in an overnight Toll Airbag for ya. You gonna use them just for track?
  11. Hope you get it all sorted out man I'm looking forward to seeing the result of what you got planned though... gonna be a well powered responsive setup! ps. I emailed you a link to RB26DETT Exhaust Manifolds and Heat Shields
  12. Spotted a Silver R33 4 Door at Garden City carpark yesterday
  13. spotted a maroon coloured R33 GTSt last night at Gold Coast Helensvale and a silver R32 GTSt this morning on the Pacific Motorway slowly getting through traffic, had an SAU sticker on the rear qtr windshield, don't know if you noticed me
  14. Depends too how restrictive the existing exhaust system is. I don't know how the supra and skyline exhausts compare, but if one is more restrictive from factory than the other, then naturally one is going to have more gains in power and/or responsiveness than the other.
  15. Spotted a nice yellow R34 GTT on Gold Coast Highway this morning, car looked mint!
  16. no worries There's also Partsco in NZ who sell Coby Extractors.
  17. DKNE sell them if you want to buy new. You can get them flanged to bolt straight up to the cat as well
  18. In that case buy your parts, but wait till your ready for it all to be put together before you start playing around with ECU's injectors and pumps. Only because it's unnecessary costs in labour and tuning, only to be retuned on the turbo conversion. So to answer your question, a Walbro GSS342 is a direct replacement fuel pump, and R34 GTT Injectors will be a direct replacement, and will be plenty unless you want to go all out rebuilding your engine for higher horse power. Unless your able to get R34 550CC injectors at a really good price that's hard to pass up, then go for it, otherwise just stick with good 2nd hand GTT Injectors and you should be fine
  19. Apexi Power FC should be fine as the car is manual and no longer needs the auto shift logic, and your replacing the ECU, not running a piggy back. What are your long-term plans with the car? You would at least want to be working on the internals, upgraded camshafts, port polish, raise compression etc... to really take advantage of 550CC Injectors, bigger pump and a PowerFC... The cost of the PowerFC + Tuning = not worth it unless your at least fitting a snail
  20. Does seem a bit cheap for a Walbro. A Walbro GSS342 should be a direct replacement (done it on my R34 GT for the turbo conversion) but as mentioned already, why do you need bigger pump and injectors? GTT Injectors are a straight swap on an RB25DE NEO. iirc they are around 370cc? which is enough for me to run a turbo at around 10-12PSI on 10:1 CR. Unless your looking to rebuild your engine, put on a big turbo, one that would even require ditching the factory AFM... you're not going to need those size injectors and even then a Walbro GSS342 is good for 500HP (or is it 550)? nuff said though, spend the money elsewhere unless this is part of a major upgrade
  21. Spotted FAT 33 near my work and PHAT 35 (Pink plates, hope I remembered them right) at Tarragindi today
  22. Hey guys, sorry for the delay, I kept forgetting to bring the magazine in with me but here it is all three pages
  23. I believe this is what you're talking about in regards to the vacuum line: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...;hl=vacuum+line Connects to the air intake control valve. Just make sure you don't block the vacuum line as it will affect the function of variable valve in the intake plenum creating flat spots and loss of power.
  24. Spotted a white R33 with SAU Sticker at G City Yesterday, drove past you in the car park.
