  2. lol game just ended not so long ago
  3. yeah was pretty good for a 3 v 3 game sleep or bestgn... decisions, decisions lol
  4. lol I was wondering what happened
  5. CTF_2FORT!! DustBowl is aight.. I haven't really played much other maps besides those two, almost always play 2fort. 2fort is a capture the flag map, though you would be forgiven for thinking its a deathmatch map lol
  6. Well I just gave the RTA a call and spoke to technical inquiries and got a LOT of good help!! QLD issued engineers certs are not accepted in NSW, UNLESS, it's on their list of approved signatories. Refer this list here: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...s_june_2009.pdf Basically, if it's an approved signatory, then you just need to make sure the report is in that format acceptable to NSW standards. Take that report and original import docs to get a blueslip and done, is what I've been assured. So now all I need to do is make sure that it will pass engineer approval with one of these approved signatories and it should be all good... I'll probably get a resonator fitted to my exhaust to quieten it down, and do something about not having a washer bottle first, but if I do go ahead with the move at least I have somewhere to start from in QLD to ensure I don't have problems with NSW accepted engineer's certs. I suppose it's still questionable to a cop when getting pulled over as to the validity of the Queensland issued mod plate even if you tell them its on the list of approved signatories...
  7. haha yeah when you can get a spot lol auto-retry +refresh button works =P What's your online name? I just go with N-DAWG online, used to use L337Z1LL4.. my online name back when I was frequent on AtomicMPC, now I'm soooo out of that loop lol Add me on steam: nathan_jm
  8. instaspawn ftw!
  9. Which server? I'm usually on BestGN playing 2fort, hardly play the other maps lol
  10. Cheers Chris, found the thread you were talking about... he's got an R33 with roll cage and Rb26 swap etc... mine's not quite that modified lol Because I've spent so much on labour and tuning, my concern is not having to revert back to stock... I've only done a bolt-on conversion with an R33 GTSt turbo, used R33 GTSt brakes with ADR approved lines, custom turbo back exhaust.. the only things really aftermarket is the exhaust, eManage Blue (required to make sure everything runs correctly), GReddy Profec B Spec II, Walbro fuel pump, king springs (30mm lowered) and whiteline swaybars and misc whiteline suspension bushings, FMIC Kit, apexi pod (enclosed). I'm not making mega killerwasps of power, everythings plumbed in, no oil catch cans or breathers, try to keep most things standard-ish... even have gauges mounted on the side of the console so they aren't in a defectable area. I've just invested a lot of time and money into doing the conversion and tuning to not want to risk any problems when tfring back... besides the fact that i don't have all of my old parts.
  11. Does the vehicle identity check only cover checking that records match, or do they look at other aspects of the car also? I'm looking at moving back to NSW and my car was originally complied and rego'd in QLD, I've had a Engineers Mod Plate issued for a turbo conversion, I just don't want to run into problems with tfring back.. I don't have the time/parts/money to be reverting a car to stock and all :S I've read some stories where people just followed the above and all was good, and others where once they had to have an ID Check done they got pulled up for numerous things.
  12. Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I couldn't see the sense in starting a new one. I'm possibly going to be moving back to NSW hopefully by the end of the year (work permitting) and would soon be faced with the dilemma of reregistering a car in NSW. From what I've read thus far, QLD Engineer's Cert counts for squat in NSW? How much does it cost to get one issued in NSW? My R34's had a turbo conversion done, 3" turboback exhaust, apexi pod fully enclosed, 30mm lowered king springs, 18x8 wheels, brake upgrade using R33 GTSt Brakes and ADR Approved lines, GReddy Profec B Spec II, GReddy eManage Blue. My concern if I move back down, is basically getting pulled up for this "random check" and gett assraped for mods. My car isn't what I'd consider to be heavily modified, not like my cars dropped on its guts with a big look-at-me body kit and atmo BOV... but I'm not sure how it would be seen in the eyes of the RTA and wouldn't want to run into any costly and moreso inconvenient problems when moving back. I'm not overly fussed on rego, my rego expires in December a few days after i'm on an open licence so I won't be missing out on much there provided I can move back by Christmas. Any idea on how NSW handles the expiries on licence transfers? When I moved to Queensland they basically took the time I had left on my licence and added it to my Queensland licence, and for a relatively small amount I was able to extend the time to June 2010. No stupid licence fees and card fees etc... I'm hoping that NSW would do the same with the expiry. I know that at some stage I'm best to speak to the RTA, but it's always good to know the experience of others, particularly when it comes to modified imports.
  13. Hey, thought I'd pop in to the Gong thread again.. Having serious thoughts about moving back to Wollongong again (work permitting) after a couple of years in Brisbane and have a few questions: What's the SAU scene like in the Gong? What's involved in getting an engineers cert particularly cost wise? I've got Queensland Transport mod plates issued for my turbo and intercooler conversion, cost all of around $140 up here. I would assume that it means nothing in NSW? Or does it really depend on whether rego is in QLD or NSW? I get little-to-no unwanted attention up here, am hoping that won't change much if I end up moving back. Also any recommendations for mechanics and tuning in the Gong or is it pretty much all up Sydney way? Thanks in advance
  14. I experienced a lot of intake pipe heat after doing my turbo conversion without a heat shield on the manifold and turbo. yes I had a silicone bend on the intake and that was the part that was too hot to touch on the underside, but after using ACL Heat Shield Material over the headers and turbo, combined with boxing up the pod filter, my heat soak issue has decreased "dramatically"! Before heat shield, leaving the motorway and back on to the main road = a car that was gutless in comparison to how it normally drives. Now it still has that go in it. HPC Coating your extractors and wrapping them (do it the right way so you don't go corroding the extractors) will help keep engine bay heat to a minimum ensuring everything operates efficiently, and will also help the exhaust gasses escape quickly to increase power. With N/A power, I would suggest that method should work effectively and also help increase power delivery while you're at it. Here's a pic of my heatshield. Not much to it but it works wonders! Also covers my dump pipe as well and helps keep my turbo lines away from that hot manifold! From this angle you can see how I've curved it over the manifold creating a bit of a barrier between the rocker covers. The N/A Manifold will probably be slightly different, and I don't know how you would go bolting down the heatshield material (I used a factory turbo manifold so I was able to use factory bolt holes). ...and a link to the product itself: http://www.aclperformance.com.au/prod_heatshield.htm Its construction, consisting of a ceramic filler sandwiched between two 0.15mm aluminised steel sheets, gives a very efficient high temperature thermal barrier suitable for a wide variety of automotive and industrial applications. 850-900 degrees celcius. $48.50PP on eBay for a 700mm x 290mm sheet. I had enough do do the manifold and still have a couple of decent squareish pieces that I'm yet to find a use for. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HEAT-SHIELD-MATERIA...4#ht_814wt_1165
  15. Not so long ago I would have said fuel subsidy makes Brisbane a great place to live... not anymore At least insurance for an import is still a sh!tload cheaper than in NSW!
  16. Spotted SXE 32 in Mt Gravatt, clean looking R32
  17. White or silver? and lol @ H8 MYEX
  18. I moved from Wollongong to Brisbane for work end of 07, loved the place after staying here for 2 weeks! However just in this short time I can see the increase in people and traffic and the other gripes people have mentioned. I guess I can't talk though, after all I'm part of that population increase lol Still though I don't mind Brisbane, but it's a bit far from the coast line for my liking.. I guess it's what I was used to
  19. and to think that one of those has been put in an S13 with twin turbos lol http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...amp;pid=5187002 Half way down the page
  20. P Plates are the biggest attention grabber IMO. When I moved to Brisbane I had an NX Coupe for a couple of months (affordable sporty run around car till I found the car I wanted) I had P Plates on it, and yes it did have a canon muffler on it, and I got police attention so often! I only got pulled over once and fined for use of a mobile (literally a 6 second call saying can't talk driving, when I was still within shopping centre carpark); but I would get followed so often! Many times followed half way to work also. Since I bought the Skyline (stock factory standard R34 Sedan) even with P Plates, I got the occasional following (yes obvious following as they would make a u turn on the lights to tail me, then fall back, then tail me again, obviously seeing how fast I'm going and if I'm going to do anything stupid), and got followed by a cop on a bike on the motorway to the Gold Coast once, he was trying to hang in my blind spot. Then about a month later.. I went and got my licence tfr'd from NSW to QLD, found out that with the system I was on, it was more or less an open licence with 4 points and no p plates! How much attention have I had since then? I think I've been followed once or twice, and I've had the R34 since January 07. Just by removing the P Plates the attention I get is little-to-none! Even with a front mount intercooler and 3" Turboback to a canon tip. However, I don't have a body kit, and yes I have rims but they aren't rims that stand out a mile away with obviously bad offset and too big for the car. I've done everything right and kept it clean and close to standard looking on the outside and so far that's worked. But as others have said already, P Plates + Male driver never looks good to police... add a Skyline or any sports inspired car to that equation and good luck Do the right thing, be polite to the cops, keep your car looking respectful (silly useless wings are for penguins, you're not doing time attack in an N/A Skyline on the street) and don't give them a reason to pull you up for anything, and you'll be fine. You'll always get the odd cop or two who likes to make life miserable for owners of imports, but what can you do about that?
  21. Spotted a white spoilerless R34 Coupe on Kessels road going through the kessels/logan intersection around 5.30
  22. Yes they are. 4 and 2 spot calipers vs 2 and 1 spot calipers. Also rotor sizes are different. R34 25GT Sedan is different again. An R34 GTV however has the GTT Brakes, though the GTV is also a GTT with an RB25DE NEO pretty much. I haven't done a transmission service since I bought the car (Jan 07) only done 15,000kms in that time however and bought it with 105,000kms. Given that it never had the 100,000 km service done I hardly think the transmission has received a service in a long while in Japan... Any recommendations for where to take it for a service? I originally contacted Aspley Auto's about service and also shift kit, but they insist on driving it first to see how bad the flaring is, ie. whether a shift kit is going to fix or worsen the problem. They're in north side though which is rather inconvenient for me :S
