Had the intake plenum been modified? i.e. the variable butterfly valve that opens around 4700 revs. Just noticed the way it dropped off then picked back up around that point.

Looking forward to seeing this! I saw it coming in a thread in the SA forum, good on you for doing something different! Before I done the turbo conversion I was thinking about the possibilities of supercharging and I'd read a thread where someone had actually got quotes to make up the manifold etc.. now someone's going through with it all! good to see!

Got a single stage Turbosmart. Switch between adjusted boost level or factory boost, just needs wires and a rocket switch. PM me if interested.

Hey mate, got a solenoid one from an R33 GTSt Turbo that I got for my conversion but didn't use. I'll take a photo later to make sure that it's everything you need. PM me an offer. Cheers Nathan

I have the factory 2 DIN R34 Stereo if that's suitable?
-
I'm keen to know as well. Looks like mine's on the way out, I need something to suit R33GTSt Brakes on an R34 Sedan. My R34 one is still good but mechanics advised not to fit it, soon find out but I'd rather get a "new" one then try another second hand cylinder.

Popping Noises From Exhaust On Down Shift.
N-DAWG replied to iseekool's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mine does the same since having done the conversion... prior to it didn't exist, though I wasn't running any performance modifications (besides panel filter). I didn't like it at first, now I don't mind and quite like it. In regards to tuning, I have to agree somewhat as mine was crackling and backfiring a lot more before I had the car further tuned as I felt it was running very rich. -
I got through on the Pre-July 2008 rule I was previously on a P1 in NSW so there's a double benefit for me. When did you own the car? If you've owned and continue to own the vehicle before 30 June 2007, then you're in! Here's a few fact sheets and links that should have most of the definitive answers, if that doesn't answer your question then contact QT, though applying for an exemption would probably end up being the way to go. http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resources/...ns_brochure.pdf http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resources/...provisional.pdf http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home/Licen...le_restriction/

Who's tuning it?

Not to mention the issues surrounding insurance for you and other parties involved...should the worst happen...

I'm not sure about the gear box... is it a manual or auto? You're off to a great start having a GTV to begin with, saves a lot of hassle with brake upgrades and the like!

Looking forward to seeing this Particularly with you using the Nistune, assuming that's what you're still going ahead with.

Sounds like there's a problem with the way they changed the seals if it's leaking from the same spot. Where abouts is he located? I'd be taking it to a reputable workshop that has experience with Skylines. They'd probably figure out the problem straight away.

very nice! I like!

As Eug said, check cam seals. How many km's on the clock? When was the last major service and did he get the cam seals changed at the same time? If the answer is on or more than 100,000kms, and it hasn't had a major done, then I'd be getting it booked in. Major service is expensive, but not as expensive as a snapped timing belt! I have heard of one case (not Skyline specific however) where a leaking cam seal meant that oil was getting on the belt, and slowly wore it away and the car ended up with over 2G'z of engine repair.

Fujisubo make a catback just for the 4 door N/A R34....but it is damn expensive! The cost of that system you can pretty much do your entire exhaust including extractors! I've been told by many that the 2 door and 4 door catback are interchangeable, however in a thread not so long ago someone said the 4 door catback is longer... Your main issue with aftermarket catback systems though is going to be the exhaust diameter. You reallly don't want anything bigger than 2.5" unless you're after top end power and willing to sacrifice low down power and torque. The majority of aftermarket systems are suited to turbocharged skylines and are 3" or larger in diameter. Basically you will lose volumetric efficiency in the lower part of the power band with too large an exhaust as the exhaust gasses can't be scavenged and fill the exhaust as efficiently as it can with say a 2.5" system. Of course the exhaust really depends on what other modifications you have done/plan to do (e.g. cams and cam gears, extractors) You may find that getting a custom made exhaust from a reputable exhaust shop would be more cost effective and a lot better suited to your vehicle, plus they can design it to sit up higher under the car. Anyways, that's a very quick run down on this topic, pretty much answers your question though. I felt the need to quickly outline the issue with exhaust diameter since you were obviously looking at aftermarket systems. Hope that helps. edit: If it helps, when I had my conversion done, my tuner said that a R34 GTT Coupe X-Force Catback would be fine for my Sedan. Another tuner in Brisbane confirmed for me that the 2 door catback will suit the 4 door, and that with some modifcation an R33 catback would also be suitable.

You're not doing the DE+t ?

hahaha nicely done! How much did you get for it? lol Man that would have been a site! Was it during peak traffic? that would have been hilarious! lol Probably not for you though

Got an R34 GT Exhaust Manifold... trying to sell it =/

I don't get it... most places I called when looking for a catback told me that the Coupe and Sedan catback systems were the same...
