PM sent. Mine's pretty much stock Stagea, but I'd be nice to know the limits

If you're having it on Sunday then count me in I'm a fairly new Stagea owner, so I need all the help I can get...

Thanks... I actually had no problems getting into diagnostic mode. Was a bit confused when reading the manual the first time (english is not my first language)... Especially on the part of "depress the brake pedal". I had always thought depress = release (de-press, get it? lol). But once I figure it out, its all good. But the strangest thing is that on the first diagnostic attempt it recorded four faulty circuits (and I had 14 flashes instead of 13 - not counting the long initial one). The second try it did not recorded any faults but it has 13 flashes. I guess it kinda explains the interference problem.

CRISIS OVER!!! Thanks for everyone who has helped me in trying to find the solution... Basically, the problem came from an existing security system that was not taken off properly, hence it causes some interference (apparently) with the new one I just installed. Not really anyone's fault I guess, because the old security system unit was hidden so well. BUT, I'm very, very glad my Stagea is back to normal! Now, to the next issue... What should we do with that poor fuel consumption?

Thanks for the instructions... I did the self diagnostic and everything is ok except for four circuits (yikes!); 4 - Shift solenoid A 5 - Shift solenoid B 6 - Overrun clutch solenoid 13 - Shift control unit OMG! Now, where do I start???

Before the fault, I'm in 2500rpm at 110km/h on D... Now, as you mention I'm at 3500rpm at 110km/h on D. Of course, if I shift the tiptronic and force it to go to fourth, the rpm dropped to 2500 at 110km/h. This is also the reason I noticed something was not right with the autobox. Driving home after getting the alarm and head unit fitted, the rpm was higher than normal hence I suspect something was wrong.

Thanks for the info, but its definitely not it. I ran on the freeway at 100km/h, with a warm engine, and it's still stuck on third...

Thanks... I made sure I turn the snow button off. Just to make sure, I turn it on and tried launching... Sure enough, it accelerated very slowly (so definitely not the snow button). I also tried using the steering wheel tiptronic instead of the gearshift, and it works fine as normal. My revs at 100km/h in top gear is just below 2500... So, thanks to all the earlier suggestions, I managed to narrow down the problem only in the auto "D" mode.

Still have the ones for the Stagea? I want both!

I'm in Perth... Well, the dealer recommend me to go to them for the alarm. Seeing that they have stereo systems, I went and bought a new head unit as well. What a mistake it turns out to be.

You could be right, maybe they cut something out. I heard them talking about pulling a loom that "doesn't seem to do anything"... With the shift out of alignment, it sounds like a mechanical problem. But worth a try. Anyways, I'm not going to touch the car because I'm not a mechanic. I'll wait until Wednesday for the dealer mechanics to have a look at it, and I'll give him all the suggestions. If anyone else can offer a suggestion, please don't hesitate...

Thanks, I'll ask the service guys to look at the wiring under the center console first. I did try to use the steering wheel buttons, but I didn't see any light comes up. If you're talking about the light that shows which gear I am in, it does show though. I do have the snow button, I'll check whether it will affect the 4th gear. There is also a button that looks like a steering wheel right next to the shifter, I'm not sure what it does. Also, what do you mean by using a feed pick up for the radio?

Yes... I do have warranty from the dealer. Have arranged to see them next Wednesday.

Hi fellas, Just bought a Series 2 Stagea last week. Not long after, I took it to get a stereo head unit and alarm system fitted. When I collect the car, the auto box is messed up!!! It won't shift to fourth gear / overdrive. I had to shift to tiptronic mode using the gear lever and 'force' it to shift to fourth. If I move it back to 'D' it shifts down to the third gear and will not shift up. Also, the tiptronic button on the steering wheel does not work now. Took it back to the guys who installed the alarm and they have no idea... FYI, I've fitted an AutoWatch alarm system with the turbo timer... Please help!!!
