Greg here from country Vic, Numurkah (north of Shepparton), would like to meet and catch up with fellow owners, enthusiasts, but country living does make meeting the criteria for membership a bit harder. Maybe country membership? Just a couple of ideas, DECA at Shepparton are very obliging for unofficial club events, could be worth investigating. Also when I was a member of Benalla Auto Club (Winton) they had open practice days nearly every Friday open to anyone, normal safety gear required, don’t know if this has changed but maybe an option for a cruise and test day. Intercooler question. Just fitted my fmic from the group buy. I now have a lot more induction noise, is this normal and what causes it.

The Cat should be OK but a dose of super fuel or a bad misfire can destroy a cat in minutes, a solid knock can also break up the guts and send fragments into the system. A good exhaust shop should be able to pressure test before and after the cat and any other muffler in the system. On the cheap grab a dud cat from a complier, Knock the guts out, bolt on and test run, same deal if you can borrow a known good system to test.

Had my own exhaust shop for 10 years, came across this problem quite a bit, blocked or broken Cat, extreme restriction in system, just a thought, maybe worth checking.

Has anyone started fitting up yet? Any tips or tricks?

I do so let me know. We were wondering how do you know if second hand coils are any better than what youve got.

Used plug lead and bosch hand held scope, found faulty one but while doing so discovered that while coil not mounted misfire went. Up country fix while waiting for parts, leave plug lead in and zip tie coil to breather pipe. Works but very temp.

Will the loom stretch up there? Must. I'll try it. RPM sent instructions to use the orange wire with blue trace from the AFM, so we spliced in and to change setup just unplug one and plug the other in.

Its not my normal driver so I'm lucky. When on the dyno with orig ecu it was running so rich its lucky it ran at all. I think thats why I can feel such a difference.

The auto elec was worried about getting a signal from the AFM if plugged in, RPM said to remove it all together which I will do later.

My idle seems to as yours. Normal mode, still OK to use or risky? Its just so much better.

At the moment on the floor (ha ha) like you said it will probably come out while waiting for tune. Thats the good thing with them, block off hose unplug air temp and put AFM plug back in and back to standard.

No if anything a little low. but I reckon my genuine was a little screwed, cold idle was up about 1300.

The adaptor came with software and installed OK but the LT software tells me that Com2 port is not available, have emailed supplier of adaptor. Nissan plug, where you refering to the LT connecting loom, if so yes.

No, the laptop only has USB ports so I got an adaptor and they still wont talk to each other, maybe try another laptop tomorrow, I wont be changing anything, just see how it looks and try to learn something.

The standard setup is a very safe tune, but made a big difference over what I had. RPM said OK to use but to tune ASAP.

How long is it safe to drive on the supplied setup, it started fine, takes a little more cranking, went ok with AC and steering at idle, yet to do a cold start, may go over to RPM for first tune, I live a long way from any tuners.

I havnt done a lot of testing, off boost maybe a little less but it seems to be coming on boost earlier, it was running very rich before with flat spots, but now clean all the way and what a rush about 4500 to 5000 on.

I got my LT12 in and finished today, I agree with gjb977, what a hoot.

I keep getting disconected, back on line tomorrow. Will begin my install shortly, I will be using laptop for tune, just hope new USB to com adaptor works. I am considering driving to Adelaide for first tune. I'll keep you posted on progress. Regards

So the faults are often visible? Only had the car 6 months, 3" exhaust from cat back, not sure if cat is hi flo, how can you tell? No other mods yet FMI is on its way. I figure I want to be able to tune it before I throw everthing at it.

Hi guys, this is my fist time at this so forgive me if I write something stupid. Just about to install my LT12 which I got from RPM. Firstly I must get rid of the dreaded misfire at 4500 - 5000 rpm which only developed 2 weeks ago. Have changed and gapped plugs to .8 and running standard boost, no luck, about to test coil packs.
