  1. Here are some pics for you all. http://www.jamiecarl.com.au/clients/dyno2010/
  2. I don't mind if you post it. I'm waiting on Jamie's picture just before it all went wrong. Oh and I found a set of the same rims being auctioned. I always wanted to recon these but they were too stuffed.
  3. Ahh now I remember you. See if she is available. We'll arm her with a tazer and set her loose on the people at the next event.
  4. Well I aim to please. At this point I would usually bring up something along the lines that next year it will be your mum and I providing the entertainment on the street, but I just don't know you well enough Yes, yes it did. The tyres failed Bent a hub, no big deal. Another hub will be arriving here by the end of the week. No worries Mick, I don't take banter to heart. In fact I was expecting some crap from Grant at the shop but to my surprise he turned around and said that if you never brush up a wheel or two in your lifetime, your not driving hard enough. Besides I probably deserve it
  5. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did. I think this can grow into a yearly event for our clubs and the start of other inter-club events. We are not all evil... Niko
  6. Hi Skyliners, Niko here. Ross has posted up some more info on the Supra forum and I'm just relaying the message. Basically we met today with Donnan and came up with the following: As we know what one of our sponsors (Federal Tyres) prizes will be on the day, we have come up with some categories, but we will need more. If you have any suggestions for any additional categories, then please feel free to post your ideas. Best Presented Supra - as voted by Skyline owners Best Presented Skyline - as voted by Supra owners Tough as Nails Sweet as Peach Epic Build The Gunna (going to) Drift Spec/Built to Thrash Built to Budget (sure it is...) Now these categories were dreamed up by us today as a way to distribute the sponsored items. Feel free to comment on these. Don't forget to pay your money into the club account (front page) to secure your spot and even if your car is not ready, please come along and tell all of your friends and family. This will be a top day!! Cheers Ross So basically if you have any ideas on the above let us know either here or on the thread on the Supra forum. We'll troll this thread for a while Niko
  7. If you are referring to me with your comment, then you haven't even read my post. I never mentioned that the Skyline is not a GT car.
  8. I have to say something here. Took a couple of hours yesterday to read the thread for start to finish Yes the GTR is a racebred car. Yes the Supra is not a racebred car. The GTR is compared to Porsches. The first time I saw a Supra in a magazine was in Wheels and they were comparing a DB7 to a Supra. The Supra is a GT car. Grand Tourer. How good a GT car it is, is a different matter. I like it. If you're too big to be comfortable in one, buy a Falcon or Commodore. People talking about getting Supra owners to go out to win Dutton Rallies and other comps, my question to you is how many rallies and comps have you won? Don't ride on the coat-tails of your contemporaries. Lets see you win a Targa. I guess you think all Skyline owners are professional racers because a few actual racers did win comps. It takes a lot of money to win any comp. The only pro-racer to make a comment here makes some valid points, including the racing homologation of the Skyline. When he was racing the Supra, he was not allowed to change vital components of the setup due to the rules. Almost all Supra TT owners make those changes as soon as the car is in our hands. Currently Australian tuners are roughly about 5 to 6 years behind the Americans in what we can achieve with the Supra, especially with the motor. Even the Japanese don't get as much out of a 2JZ as the yanks. The Americans have been at it for so long and the economies of scale dictate that they will always be ahead. It is a shame that the Skyline was not sold in the US as I'm sure the performance of the RB would be further advanced. But PHR now stock GTR bits so you never know. To people that want to see more Supra's at the local track, I completely agree with you. The ACT Supra Club is trying to promote track days and friendly comps with [shock-horror] the boys and gals from the ACT chapter of SAU. There are lots of youtube vids of Supra's at race tracks. You just have to look. Here's one example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdioZbLyHIo...feature=related We definitely need more Australian content but we're working on that. There is just so much more of Supra's on highways and drag strips cause of Americas love for those races. To the poster asking about Supra performance at Wakefield, from memory the DAMN Supra completed Wakefield in 1:09 for the Autosalon Street car of the year comp a couple of years ago. It was the drivers first time at the track. And yes a Skyline took out that comp. To the people talking about big body kits and other mods on Supra's, I agree with you. I think Lambo doors belong on Lambos. There are only a select few kits that look nice on a Supra like the TRD and Ridox kits but that's about it as far as I'm concerned. Don't throw too many stones though, there are some bad things being done to the Skylines too. There's nothing wrong with hanging a bit of shit on owners of other makes of cars. It's like supporting the footy team of your choice. You give the other guy some shit. I talk trash to SZ owners, Skyline owners, V8 owners, the whole lot. But it's usually in the presence of those people. We all have a laugh. It gets bad when it comes to forums though, cause people get carried away. That's all that I will say on that. I don't think I need to say anything about the original posters question, you know where I think the RZ and GTS stand. There are people on SF.com talking about their stock SZ beating a stock GTS but I can't confirm that to be more than forum spew. It sounds like bullshit. Niko
  9. Seeing as you guys have a lot of interest already for this dyno day, the Supra Club will just tag along and put cars on to make up the minimum numbers.
  10. Hey Jayce. Supra is getting a gearbox recondition. All the shennanigans finally caught up with me. Engine-wise things are good and getting better each time. Finally have reliable fuel delivery and boost control. Next I'll be increasing the size of the rear housing on the turbo. Midrange has increased immensely with the Autronic but the turbo is running out of puff. I bought a spare block couldn't help myself. Taking the time to choose the right turbo. Hanging out with Daniel and Glen is bad But it will be a built engine and worked head. How is your beast coming along?
  11. The Supra has always been given the 'heavy-weight' branding by the US. The RZ is actually 1490kg compared to 1320kg R32 Skyline GTST, 1480kg R32 Skyline GTR and 1500kg R32 Skyline GTR V-Spec. But you're definitely right. A good setup gets you far at the track. It's better however to have power and not need it, then need power and not have it. Everyone calls me Niko by the way. edit: If Jayce is reading any of this, then G'day mate. Long time no see.
  12. Yeah, heaps of potential. Aftermarket twin turbo setup. Lots more to come from this car and at least one more in a few weeks. My car had fuel delivery issues at the dyno day. Intermittent loss of fuel due to the stock pump and walbro intank playing up. Had a bosch 044 installed since. Much better power figures now.
  13. We had one in October last year. We're trying to limit our own dyno events to one per annum. That may, and probably will, change though. However if this was going to be part of our 3 round "Supra Vs Skyline" comp then I'm sure that we can arrange it. Here's some links to our dyno day video. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
  14. Hope the enthusiasm doesn't wear off. I'd certainly like to see an event organised by our two clubs. We're going to be at Shannon's Wheels Expo this year. If nothing eventuates before, we can use that show to have a discussion and try to set up some sort of agenda.
  15. Haha... Yes, well we're not pro's. Sounds like you are though. The track will tell all.
