  1. you deserve a matchbox
  2. Thats exactly my plan I think i've made up my mind too, i may as well close this thread, but it seems to be popular so i'll let it go and if it's a no go i'm sure the mods will close it for me! Cheers mate!
  3. Yeah true, where i live has a very small population and 0 cars stolen in the past 20 years heh, so lets hope that brings the theft cost down.
  4. Exactly, heh. After lots of contemplation, i've ditched the two of them and decided to go for an R34 25GT. But who knows, i may yet change my mind!
  5. Thats another reason why i like the R series, they are suprisingly easy to park, perhaps due to handling and their reduced width.
  6. That pic is fantastic! Something i'd want to hang on my bedroom wall! Should have included the R31 as well i think. Does anybody here think that the R33 rear looks better than the R34 rear?
  7. Yeah... sure, and you don't have the maturity to handle a pokemon steve irwin gag. Your opinion is clearly worth no more than 2 cents anyway.
  8. I did not say i didn't want the R32 because of the photo, and that was a SERIES 2 R32. I've stated many times that i prefer a newer vehicles, and that should be reason enough for turning away from the R32
  9. Hahah yeah! not a bad idea, i'll figure something out, cheers for the help mate!
  10. This is a very odd problem. Sounds like your HU could be faulty and it's not sending enough current to the amp in order to switch on the power supply. A feature of MOSFET amps is that if they dectect discrepancies in the switching line they shut off to prevent shorting exc. Try hooking the remote wire up to your accessory line instead. This will solve the problem and will eliminate any delay from the HU signal. (if there is any) The relay will also work, but would take much more effort to implement than this. You will have to attach the rem wire, power wire and an earth wire/lead to the relay. So you're going to have to hitch power from wires all over the place and run them to the relay. Can be a messy procedure. I'd reccomend just hooking them up to your acc line. That way your switching power supply won't have any chance of being starved and it won't activate your protection mode. Try doing this, if it still doesn't work speak to me again as you may have overloaded your ACC line! Hope that helps!
  11. Hey mate Your autoelect has probably gotten lazy and wired the signal and power cables right next to eachother without a noise filter. The best way would be rewire them at least 30cm away from eachother. But it's easier to install a noise filter on all your power cables, this is the quickest but also priciest way, you will need to make sure the noise filter has the same or a larger power handling than the maximum consumption of your amp. The exposed wires in the boot should be no hassle and the battery acid should only be a problem if it's corroding any of your wires. Hope that helps!
  12. Thats good to know, thanks for your help guys! All i need to do now is to pick which one to get haha.
  13. Heh, i like that!
  14. No worries, likewise it should be fine! If you have any issues feel free to PM me and i'll be happy to help you out!
  15. Cheers for the help mate. I checked the PW ratio for the R32 GTS-T and it just fits in according to the vicroads calculator. I appreciate the input man, but i'm looking now more towards an R33 or R34, I like the looks better and i like newer cars. I'm not going to do engine mods myself, and i've always been keen on getting an N/A car and turbocharging it as well as making my own selective mods, even if it costs more. In other words, i want to get a decent car and make it into a great car by getting it modded! I'm almost tempted to go to hell with the P/W ratio and buy a R33 GTR-S anyway!
  16. What if you were to add an aftermarket turbo kit to an R33 GTS or an R34 25GT? 'Caus thats what i wanna do
  17. Very nice, thanks a lot man! I'd be looking at turbocharging it after a while (hence the other post) Any idea how much it would set me back for a mid-level turbine kit and installation? I've noticed there's not a whole lot of space in the engine bay.
  18. I'm looking at buying a stock R34 25GT. Is it possible to turbocharge this vehicle? I've noticed there's not a heap of space under the bonnet, could this be costly. Also i would like to know the same thing, except with an R33 GTS, there's considerable space in the engine bay, so i assume it would be easier. bear in mind, i would take it to a proffesional to get it done, not do it myself. Cheers guys!
  19. f**k yeah! While you're here man. How much do they go for?
  20. Thanks man! your a legend! I've looked around and seen hardly any 2door R34's do they make 2doors of this model? This changes my plans now heh, i might get one of these instead of the R33GTS but we'll see
  21. Details please i've failed to find a model number/internet stats.
  22. Good idea, I'm not that keen on the R32 though because of it's age, but you are right it is a very quick car. The money i'd save buying my friends R33 would give me enough left over for say a new paint job and a turbo...I'm not going to do it myself if thats what you meant about difficulties. I'd like to do up the GTS myself, make it my own car with mods of my choice exc. I've spoken to a mechanic, and he's told me there's a lot of choice when turbocharging an R33 GTS, as with the R32 would be a lot more difficult..but i wouldn't touch the R32 as it's allready gutsy enough.
  23. :laughing-smiley-014: lolz Nurburgring is origionally 22.8 km, but they can extend it up to about 28km i beleive!
  24. IS there a naturally Aspirated version of the R34? That is all Cheers!
  25. What you could do (also what i did) is attach right angle brackets to your sub box, screw them in, then drill a hole in the floor of your boot (make sure it fits the screw) and screw it in, the right angle bracket will probably bend enough to counter any uneven surfaces, do this on each corner of the sub box and it's not going anywhere! I did the same thing, except i bolted the subwoofer enclosures (i have 2) into the rear parcel shelf. You can store stuff under the subwoofers! A couple of books probably, there 15'' so you don't have a lot of room lol. This is harder to do though as it could be completely impossible depending on the car.
