Forgot to add it has a 3" turbo back exhaust fitted The engine is serviced by me every 5,000km with motul engine oil and filter from just jap automotive and at the 200,000 mark i changed the diff oil, gearbox oil, and power steering and brake fluid, and had the timing belt and water pump replaced. -

This car is in great condition and I have been exceptionally happy with it. I use it to drive to and from work, a 52km round trip, along King Georges rd daily so the odometer is a little high. It has an aftermarket intercooler, front strut bar, boost gauge, HKS BOV and 18" wheels, 225/40ZR18 on the front, 265/35ZR18 on the rear, fitted by the previous owner and he did an excellent job doing it. Since owning it i have added a Kenwood headunit (KDC-BT7539U) that has bluetooth built in and has a usb connection that is compatible with all iPods including the newest iPhone. The headunit runs a Clarion 4 channel amp (APX4241), currently running in bridged mode, powering Alpine splits (SPS-600C) in the front doors. On the rear parcel shelf are Sony explod 6x9's that i did not install (previous owner, not a great choice) that are just running off the headunit as they dont need, or deserve, to be amped. I have also had installed a Mongoose MX40 alarm with kill switch hidden for starting hooked into the fuel pump relay so will start for 4 or so seconds before dying if the switch is not used. In addition to the alarm i have installed a window wind up kit that will close the windows as soon as the car is locked with the remote. Mechanically i have replaced the coil packs, coil pack loom, spark plugs and AFM, as i was chasing a missfire that would happen randomly at idle making takeoff hard. It ended up being the coilpack loom. The front tyres were replaced in May 2009 so still have heaps of rubber on them. It has new brake pads and discs in the rear and new pads in the front as the discs could be machined, replaced this month (June). I have added a boost controller to run the car at 10psi boost and the ECU has had no problems at this setting, it runs great. the car averages 400km to a tank but will go well over that on a trip up or down the coast, the best i have seen is 650km after a massive drive down the coast. As a side note if you know skylines you will know that the drivers side power window can be very temperamental, so i have replaced the motor ($700 from Japan!) and relay box in the door so there are now no more problems with it. LOCATION: I am in Kirrawee, Sydney, NSW YEAR: Nov, 1993 ENGINE: 2.5 litre Turbo TRANSMISSION: 5 speed Manual COLOUR: Gun Metal Grey ODOMETER: 212,000 REGO TILL: September 2010 PRICE: $9500 CONTACT DETAILS: Mobile is 0406 429 833 PICTURES: -
Speed Signal Wire For Satnav From Power Fc
k1netic replied to tangomatt's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Some sat navs take speed from the car as well so when you go through a tunnel/lose satellite sync for any other reason the gps can make an estimation of where you would be on the road. Pretty sure anyway -
Yeah it runs. Strange that everything in the car worked including the alarm but the one plug to not be securely connected in the alarm loom was ignition releated. Just one of those things. Lucky.

Ok after unravelling about 400km of electrical tape i found a plug undone right near the alarm module. It must never have been connected very well because the wires i was removing for the window lifter kit were no where near it. Dodgy, ive now gone over all the connections again and its 100% better than before.

Yeah was definately a backyard jobby. I'm thinkin my only way out is as you suggested. Twist and tape isnt the way the car gods intended. I could do a better job in my sleep. I have a full day ahead of me. Beyond me which fuse blew but startin from scratch will help me find it. Thanks man.

Hey all This will be every detail leading up to this crap situation. First the car has a mongoose mx40 alarm in it with a window lifter kit along side it. The window lifter module WAS in the drivers door but came off its mount and got jammed in the scissor mechanism of the window. This created the first problem of ruining it and stopping the passanger window from operating. To remedy that situation i have removed the module and wired up the windows as they originally were. The windows now work fine along with everything else in the car except the engine wont turn over with the key. All red lights come on at the ignition position but when the key is turned to start an extra light comes on, the exhaust temp warning light. I cant remember if this is normal or not. The exhaust isnt hot so that cant be the problem anyway. My driveway is a downward slope so i can clutch start out no worries and the car runs perfectly until i turn it off. I can still arm the alarm which will lock the car etc. All normal. I'm lost, I've checked every fuse, every relay i know of and nothing. Ive even tried to incorporate the window lifter modules power and ground wires back into the alarm to see if that circuit needs to be complete, but to no avail. Any ideas? Cheers,

Drivers Side Power Window Not Working.. Help Please
k1netic replied to brother_david's topic in General Maintenance
I've been working on the exact same problem for the last 2 days now. After reading every thread related to this power window problem i've gone through every possible remedy. Ive taken apart the switch and cleaned/resoldered. Ive taken apart the "window amp", the black control box behing the door trim and cleaned/resoldered it. And after all this, nothing. So obviously following the chain to the window i used my general persuader (hammer) on the motor in the door. Each hit? About 5cm progress of the window closing. Needless to say Ill be sourcing a new motor tomorrow. I just wanted to post this as pretty much every post on here comes to the conclusion its the little black box. The motor does just as much work! yet gets no love... -
Ok blown fuse for the win! Just goes to show you gotta go back to the basics sometimes its that simple/obvious. Thanks for helping me along the way Chris I learnt a bit about my security system at least. Good man.

Ok i rang the mongoose service agent for my area and they've told me the mx40, by itself, wont control the windows up feature. With an extra module, the mpw4000, it gains this option. Theres a good chance this module was installed at the same time yeah? Not some other model that will make this harder. I'm just gonna look over every fuse in the car i think. No other way to go about it for now...
