I've got a R32 GTS-t. But the RB20DET sucks off boost. I'm looking at a new engine but still deciding what to do. I read in SPEED mag that a guy turbo'd a SR20DE for better off boost response.
It has a higher compression ratio (10 to 1) than the RB25DET (9to1), so in theory off boost it'd be more responsive. It's cheaper than a DET and surely it's only about the exhaust manifold and hooking up the turbo oil lines?
Am I missing stuff?
Any comments?
a two week wait is nothing. on Overclockers Australia they've banned all free e-mail accounts like yahoo, google, hotmail etc... as well as a 90 day waiting period. While it may not solve all issues the amount of scams and stuff has dropped significantly. They just now run into issues like excessive bumping and stuff.
mate...200rwkw is plenty on the streets....if it's for street use only I'd recommend a higher average power rather than a high power at one rpm point (I remember SydneyKid saying something like that). 225rwkw on a RB20 is laggy...
IF you're gonna do a conversion make sure you get some more cubes. RB25 or RB30...
sorry I don't have any pics of it so you'll have to put up with an explanation.
I saw a R33 GTS25t with what looked like a twin pipe cat back exhaust. One pipe went straight to the muffler where they both meet, the other went out towards the centre of the car before going to the muffler. Can anyone tell me if this makes the car quieter or not? Is it worth changing my loud crap cannon to something similar, or should I get something else? (Quiet and free flowing is what I want...but more so the quiet part).
the 350 comes with 4 cats if I'm not mistaken. You could probably take two off to make it flow a bit better.
Are you going to take it the force induction path or natural path?
Replace your ECU with like a Power FC or something like that. Getting that tuned should give you good results.
I'm in the same boat as you.
What did you replace your coilpacks with? (Spitfires or secondhand stockers?) I'd be looking for hairline fractures.
I haven't checked my coilpacks but I've had UAS and Grey Imports report back with nothing. I have a feeling it could be some of my injectors playing up but I had them flow tested and cleaned about 5,000km's ago...
