  1. Apexi twin air filter intake? Do you own a GTR? If you're only getting 320km, then I would highly recommend cleaning your Air Flow Meters (AFM's) and replacing the o2 Sensors. I've recently done this and it's made a world of difference to both fuel economy and performance. See this article about replacing your o2 Sensors: http://wardiz.org/blog/2009/07/30/replacing-an-oxygen-sensor-on-a-r34-gtr/ A couple new sensors will set you back about $176 incl. delivery. For the AFM's, get some "CRC Air Flow Sensor Cleaner" available at Supercheap or Autobarn: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/CRC-Mass-Air-Flow-Sensor-Cleaner-300G.aspx?pid=157339#details The cleaner will set you back about $23 per can. The AFM's need cleaning every now and then because oily residue builds up on the sensor components. This is cause by the "blow by" gas from the cam cover.
  2. Just finished fitting the new NTK sensors after tedious hours of replacing the old ones and went for a test drive. All I can say is HOLY SHITBALLS, I can't believe all my problems have disappeared. - Idle is now very stable and smooth and not muddy like before - Noticeable difference in responsiveness - Definitely increased power - No more wastegate flutter under light boost - this was pissing me off the most and couldn't for the hell of me figure out what was causing it. - Cruising - smooooth like it should be I'm gonna go fill up with a full tank and see what the economy is like. Before I was only getting 350km/50L. Will post up some Consult Cable results of before and after.
  3. OK so after going through a 21 page clusterf**k, I ended up buying 2 x NTK OZA395-E2 sensors from Kudos for my R33 GTR. One sensor will clip in perfectly, the other I just need to swap the plug from the old one. I found out my sensors were dead when I hooked up my Blazt Consult Cable and saw my sensors were just flat lining during idle and not osculating like they should. I think I might write up a full DIY PDF for those interested instead of spending hours like I did finding the right information. My light has never come on. I think it only would if the sensor(s) weren't connected at all (because no voltage is being received). Datascan also hasn't reported any error codes from the ECU either.
  4. So how did it go Eric? Noticed any difference? I really need to replace mine lol.
  5. I've always wondered if something like this existed, and it does! (and no, this isn't a spam bot) Anyone had experience with these before? http://www.fumoto.com.au/info.htm Basically it permanently replaces the drain plug on your oil sump, so then all that is required is opening/shutting the valve to drain your oil out. I've read around and people claim them to be quite bullet proof, and there are "distinct" 2 movements you have to do in order to open the valve, so no rocks or debris could easily fly up and bump it open. They also claim to be installed as OEM in Fords, Toyotas, Freightliners, Caterpillars, etc. and wernt really available to public consumers until recently. Anyways, I've just ordered mine. They are $33 each + $8 postage. I got the F-103 model to fit the RB26 plug thread which is 12mm-1.25.
  6. I was thinking of getting the same configuration as this: http://www.skylinesa...ttach_id=303024 Do you think this would be affective? Not sure exactly how it's hooked up, but there seems to be only 3 hoses (1 going to the cam cover, one to the intake pipe and one to the dipstick sump? Not entirely sure. Bit hard to tell in that photo.
  7. Love the work. Was wondering what are the benefits of replacing the wastegate actuators? or is it more of a preventative measure? I always seem to get a bit of wastegate "flutter" under light acceleration (0.2 - 0.4 bar), even worse after a cold start. and so it stutters and bogs down unless I accelerate more to bring on higher boost. Does that make sense? It's hard to explain but that's the best way I can describe it. I've read around of people having similar problems on rexies, and some suggest tightening the actuator arm. Is that possible on our skylines?
  8. Was wanting a coilpack cover for my R33 GTR (black coloured) engine. Preferably in good condition with no scratches. If possible please PM me with pictures and a offer. Cheers.
  9. Looking Good Did all the shots turn out weird like this though?
  10. I knew where he was heading with that, but he just had to a step further and whip out the old urban dictionary on you. Tsk tsk Joel tsk tsk lol
  11. Now now... lets keep this PG rated
  12. That most likely would have been me in the Purple GTR lol. I didnt put the location into my GPS properly, so it took me along Windsor road into a dead end in Richmond instead of Percival St lol. It got me there in the end
  13. Was an awesome day. Glad to see people made it home ok. This must have been the longest cruise I've ever been on lol With the donations, we managed to raise exactly $200 for the Queensland Floods! So thank you to everyone who chipped in. Every bit counts and even peoples shrapnel helped alot Very surprised with the amount of people who turned up. Gives you an idea how many people lurk this forum Humbla, I hope you made it home ok! Check your PM's.
  14. Keep windows wound down and act surprised half way up putty road when you try to "turn the aircon on" and nothing happens
  15. You better! No bailing out now!
  16. We would be passing Prestons/Casula, under Kurrajong Rd bridge at about 9:10am. Might be a little difficult to meet up on the move, unless you want to wait for us under the bridge on the M7 for us to go past
  17. Wollongong Pre-meet details: I thought I would organise a little pre-meet in Wollongong for us south coast members. I have laid out the directions on googles maps for the route we should take. From the North Gate Maccas car park pre-meet point (A) ==> to BP Petrol Station (B) ==> to the official meet point ( C ). GOOGLE MAPS LINK Pre-meet @ North Gate Maccas car park: I figured this is the best place to meet as everyone knows where it is. There's also a BP station directly opposite as well. Meet time: 8:00am Depart time: 8:15am sharp Tolls @ M7: Since we'll be taking the M7, there will be a toll charge. You can get a 'Visitors e-PASS' from the Roam website here. All you have to provide are your address/contact details, number plate, start and end date, and credit card. I always put the end date a day or 2 later than when I'm expecting to come back, just in case. If you don't own a credit card for this, then PM me and I should be able to help you out. BP Petrol Station @ McGraths Hill: This will be a good time to fill up while you can and it's only 10 mins away from the official Clarendon meet point. I have confirmed they have Ultimate 98 for those wondering. That's about it I guess. If people can reply here and let me know if you're coming to the pre-meet, that will give us a good idea of who to expect. Be sure to PM or contact me on 0403 870 143 if you have any problems
  18. Mnyess... quiet Also just a tip if you go through with getting a Varex cannon, make sure you hide the wires leading to the canon which controls the flange.. wrap with black electrical tape so no colourful wires stand out.
  19. Lol yeah, we spent over an hour getting the cars positioned for photos, so I can understand why people are getting anxious to see some car pr0n. Hopefully Jizzles will deliver soon The cruise itself was pretty good. I didn't expect so many people at the Wollongong Pre meet. Made the Mt Keira route much more fun Didn't really count how many there were, but you can count how many in the photos when they come out
  20. Good stuff oddsock Humbla: If you look at point A on the google map link and zoom in all the way you will see the carpark. You wont miss it Or if you're going to north gate maccas, go up Mt Ousley road which is directly opposite and it will take you to the bottom of Mt Ousley where the carpark is. Follow point A to B on google maps: GOOGLE MAPS LINK
  21. From what I've read on ns.com, it's still going ahead. If it's pouring rain, then looks like it will be cancelled. In saying that, I hope Jizzles will take the weather conditions down here into consideration, as it might be better than Sydney if it's raining up there. Just a heads up for us South Cost peeps: As Jizzles has mentioned already we'll meet at the bottom of Mount Ousley in the car park instead of North Gate Maccas, less popo and more parking availability. Arrive at carpark: 1:15pm Leave: 1:45pm sharp For those not sure where it is exactly, here is a link on google maps: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Mount+Ousley+Rd&daddr=-34.4165413,150.8597161+to:-34.3942982,150.8461402+to:Picton+Rd&geocode=FRAS8_0dqUT-CA%3BFWPY8v0dxO_9CClHi6CMKRoTazEQbJflZ30BEw%3BFUYv8_0dvLr9CCkRf0PzxBsTazGg4Uifa30BEw%3BFQh-9P0ddBj8CA&hl=en&mra=dvme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=16&via=1,2&sll=-34.413725,150.865588&sspn=0.015649,0.033023&ie=UTF8&ll=-34.402732,150.881488&spn=0.015651,0.033023&t=h&z=16 This map also contains the route we should take if we're going up Mount Keira, which will be more fun than Mount Ousley imo. For people more south who aren't that familiar with Wollongong area, take a few minutes to study the route in case you get stranded behind in traffic when we take off. Of course we'll pull over a couple of times to allow people to catch up and assemble, so don't worry too much. If people arent too keen on doing Mt. Keira, then we'll just go up Ousley instead. Anyways, if South Coast people can reply here to confirm they've read this and attending, then we'll know what to expect for tomorrow then. PS Jizzles: Maybe you can give me your number so I can tell you if weather permits down here in the morning. Also what channel are you going to be on? In saying that, UHF Ch 4 is good for down here cause there's a repeater that covers Wollongong area, so its good for talking long distances on our little hand helds. Just keep in mind there will probably be alot of truckies and bogans talking on it lol
  22. Attending Luke?
  23. Excellent idea Terry. I'd be willing to chip in.
  24. Ok so you want Wollonong people to meet at that carpark instead? I was thinking going up Mt Keira Road would be a bit more fun that Mt Ousley
  25. Haha all good. I'm trying to organise a pre-meet for us Wollongong folks. It will most likely be north gate maccas. Interested? Sofar I've got for a maybe from N-DAWG and tbag... Anyone else from the gong coming along?
