  1. 6Boost has been churning out steam pipe manifolds, not too bad quality wise. Why would you need to upgrade rods, I mean with RB26 rods being proven to reliably go over 400awkw and the longer rod/stroke ratio how could the RB30 rods not be up to par? 60mm turbo =~ 60lbs airflow, roughly 600hp/450kw @ flywheel, so just under 400rwkw in geek hypothetical speech.
  2. There's no such thing as bad publicity.. hehe.
  3. Also, got some pics of the pil pump internals? Need alot more info to convincinly blame the oil pump on an engine failure.
  4. Also, got some pics of the bearings? You can tell alot about the conditions by visual inspection. What about the crank?
  5. At a guess the pistons from 5 & 6 have the most scuffing? It's normal to get a bit of wear on the skirts, but in severe cases where the pistons have gotten too hot (common in a detonation senario) then they are going to expand a bit more/ scuff & scrape a bit more. If the motor has been run pretty hot that could lead to overheating, then your pistons would look like that pic i.e. detonation and scuffed hard.
  6. Uhh that piston looks like it's been peppered alot around the crown, you sure it's "only" the oil pump to blame?
  7. Prolly around 2am, still way early!
  8. Did pete hack Duncan's account?
  9. Hey Bu5ter, I hear you've got a new setup in your car with a new computer, turbo and dump pipe? Are you going to Bell and see the difference with the old times you ran? I suppose with such small changes you wouldn't be hoping for much of a gain over you're old high 11, which I personally think you fluked. Timing lights were on the blink or something...
  10. Hahah teh milkman strikes again?
  11. Nope sold that ages ago when I posted it up for sale.
  12. Hahaha damn straight!
  13. Non-shootout mode can be configurated by the dyno owner/operater, so it would be rare to get a conservative figure in that mode. I don't think Ben @ Racepace has any sort of ego regarding impressing customers with large numbers, and so has his kit set more realistic. 2530's use a T3 comp wheel that peaks @ 35lbs/min, theoretically twins are worth 70lbs/min or similar to a T04R/Z - T66 turbo flow wise. p.s. my dad can still beat up my mum.
  14. Building it up as a quick mode of transport to get to the casino, Wests or a schnitzel. I have my van for cruises, drags, track days and dyno.
  15. Don't you mean Captain RB20?
  16. Well my mum can beat up my dad too!
  17. My dad can beat up your dad.
  18. Have got a few here, there's one with a broken stud at the drivers side rear, you can have complete for $150. Located in Sydney.
  19. 600hp, williamsf1 and merli all had gt-ss installed and posted sheets. Actually they were all tuned at CRD too.
  20. Congrats Mark, it's all in teh Advan burple engine bay. And how about a dam report while your posting Nobody?
  21. CP do not make tool steel rings in the sizes applicable for RB bores.
  22. Hey Mirko all problems aside I think you can look at a couple of things.. 1/ You drove the car by yourself to an awesome time 2/ That's a shitload of power, and for a stock bottom end it's maybe too much cylinder pressure for cast pistons 3/ Using a single fogger system can create variations in mixture distributions, as you cannot dictate where the nitrous and fuel are going to end up. Could have been something as small as too much gas/not enough fuel in one cylinder. All in all congrats on doing a good time, on a stock bottom end motor making a shitload of power.
  23. Nothing has been sold yet. The RB25DE is still for sale and complete, I'll take the crank and rods out of the DET if you want (can substitute RB26 rods as well). The only RB25DET ECU I have for sale has been fiddled with by Mines, usual filter/exhaust/rev limit mods. If you want the DE computer will have to see if ISL33P wants it. Have got plenty of air compressor and p/s mounts available too. Will PM you all.
  24. Give Chris a call at JB Race Engines (9897 1720), they have been using CP's for years and can get decent prices. Also have been doing alot of RB's, both direct and for other workshops.
