What do you think of my 26 highmount set up?
DoughBoy replied to Shaun's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Take the exhaust housing back to GCG and get the T4 flanged version? Garrett are making the GT35R's in both T3 + 4, so no reason why you should be running the adapter. -
Hahaha! Ok, so can we take it one step further to deduce that the Master Power turbos are copies of Garretts, and the GT-RS has the same wheel as the 2835, and Johnny's ported stock manifolds are better than Jap bling..... To provide a mid-low 9 second car running on Master Power low mount turbos on the stock manifolds! 9's for $900! Bargain.
-
How come you say that? HKS rate them at 400ps each= 395 imperial HP. The compressors flow over 40lbs/min each. I think John Munro did a best of 9.45 @153mph on the 2835's. Abeit 56 trim compressors, the 52 trim GT-RS ones lose ~3lbs/min peak flow? Granted they were highmounts but UAS John says that those bling Jap manifolds flow worse than his ported stocker specials, so maybe more could have been in it if the car was equipped with those instead?

Edit: 9! second turbo setup, 11 second car/driver/motor?

Even a 12 is fast!

Big list o' parts
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm going to have to close + get this thread edited, there's too many groundless claims and assumptions that could be be damaging to SAU, the turbo business named and myself. Quoting an employee from the turbo company, Midnight should be dealing direct with him as the problem lies with either installation, use or the actual repair on the turbos. The product sold was as described, the "problem" with the turbos has not been diagnosed. Contrary to misguided beliefs, I had no prior knowledge of the quality of the repairs nor the lifespan of the product, nor installation or running conditions. Although the "observations" by Midnight and his mechanic are quite different from the problems williamsf1 has seen with his turbos, I can neither argue for or against the work performed by the turbo company or will continue to provoke the immature and ignorant responces that have illustrated this thread. If you want to comment on how a Blitz turbo has anally penetrated you, or other creative nonsense you might want to open a thread in the wastelands area. -
HKS/Garrett twin 3037S spec kit - RB26
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Cams are sold, 2835Rs are sold, intercooler is sold. Only have the twin kit left. Some more pics - have the complete setup at home now. -
That was on ~22psi. So you could say that's a premium unleaded "street" tune. I can imagine it would make ~1100 at 35+ psi on some funny fuel. Good work Ant, hope you get it sorted and making bigger numbers soon.

Stainless or factory exhaust manifolds, results inside.
DoughBoy replied to Boosted Zed's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
How did it flow? Notice any MPH gains before it hit the end of the bend? Got any data from Japanese ones? -

That's a push-type arrangement in that pic. -

DoughBoy replied to Boosted Zed's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have some "bling" manifolds, so I'm going to take you up on the offer to flow them for free. Both exhaust and intake, so would be interesting to see how they compare to the extruded exhausts and the Plazma intake. The flowbench being used iirc is the 1020 version, and is calibrated at 25inches. Also iirc the later model superflow benches report less flow than previous models, as they are more precise with measurments. -

Twist? I don't doubt what you have said all along: Ring the workshop? And say what? Oh you know those turbos I broke your balls over, well uhm the guy said that his sister's boyfriend's cousin heard a sound like that once and a turbo blew up? You won't even provide me with information like the workshop/mechanic used, how the hell can I start a conversation without anything but some verbal diahorrea? There's nothing concrete, and you're not interested in providing it. You know more than me about what's going on with the car, and you don't beleive a work I say. As I've stated, lose the attitude and stop being such an insulting prick. This thread's allowed me to stoop to your level a bit with the insults, but it's really not going anywhere. If there is a problem (which I don't doubt there is) then you've got to pinpoint the issue and resolve it with the relevant party. But until you're got some facts you're just wasting everyone's time, and there's no point replying until matters change. From what you've posted, nothing has. -

I'm not going to repeat myself, whether in emails or conversation. If you want to say the same line over and over, you're only going to get one reaction and reply. Continuously repeating the same bullshit only makes you look silly You received your turbos within 10 workings days of receipt of payment. I busted their balls about getting them sent out. You started harassing me over shipment before your payment had even cleared, but that's ok you're the disgruntled adolescent here. Edit: I can't understand that you could not work out the length of time from payment till receiving goods. You have the DD receipt, as well as the datestamped box from delivery? Let me recap - you did the DD on 14/2/05 and received the turbos on the 25/2/05. Given 2 days for payment to clear, that's 9 whole days. 7 working days. How many days to a month? 7? I think that's called a week. I was not in a position to remove anything from the packages as they were sent directly to your from the turbo shop. I know that when turbos are rebuilt they take the plates off - if you're convinced that I switched turbos on you they tell me, what turbos did you get? Oh that's right, you've even admitted you don't know what you are looking at when inspecting a turbo. I even gave you a list of differences to pick out an N1 turbo, fck even use the search button and listen to other people. But no, you still rail on how I gave you a set of standard turbos from Papua New Guinea and that I've ripped you off. I stopped replying to you because you repeatedly insult and rave on, you refuse to comprehend anything I've ever said to you and still insist on maintaining your ground that you have unknown turbos. If you didn't have your head up your ass the whole time maybe people would react differently to you. Going through your post history is rather amusing, as you've clearly got no idea yet will refuse to either 1/ admit it or 2/ get a professional opinion on matters. This whole debacle has been sparked by "a mechanic" who listened to the car and claimed "he had a car that made a sound like it and the turbo blew apart within a week". Great basis for such a pathetic series of events, don't you think? You still haven't inspected the turbos, have you? Still on the car and driving it around? Hey it's been over a week, shouldn't it have blown up by now? The problem has not been pinpointed, and you should realise that both the mechanic and turbo shop are going to point the finger at each other, something that an oil analysis and comprehensive fact finding is going to resolve. But then again, you're not interested in facts are you? Edit: You still haven't called the turbo shop, have you? Ahh that's right, martyrdom is preferred. If you don't contact them and follow their warranty procedures it's unlikely that they will be compelled to honor it, as who knows what you or your mechanic has done to them? It's out of their hands if they have not been treated well. But then again, say overspeeding them due to a boost leak isn't your fault is it? Or incorrect installation, which isn't possible considering you're such a guru. Edit again: No where have I said that you have "to deal with it". But you don't listen and can't reply with any degree of maturity so why should I waste my time to cop insults and bullshit? -

Maybe the reason why there's a lack of competitors is actually in the rules? Don't get me wrong, that was a gripping final in Sport RWD between that hot pink WRX and the other bling machine! Heh might have the cars wrong, but that's how much attention we were paying the racing... -

That's pretty harsh, considering there's alot more activity on the West Coast. So what are the cars meant to compete in outside of these 3 events? Benchracing? hahaha -
