Hey now that you mention it.... Phoenix's Power (http://www.phoenixs.co.jp/bigsite/home.html) have got a few near that power figure. From their power rankings: 1) BNR32 - R34 N1 turbos, PowerFC, cams etc : 645.5PS (636.6HP/474.7kw) 2) BNR34 - HKS GT-SS, PowerFC etc : 634.1PS (625.4HP/466.4kw) Will check out some others.

Just pulled out the plugs for a compression test and was interested to see how to "read" the condition of the combustion in the engine. Found a great link that is alot better than me typing out anything http://www.dansmc.com/Spark_Plugs/Spark_Pl...gs_catalog.html Has anyone encountered any other issues or ideas on reading plugs?

ARP should have some off the shelf units, pain in the but to press them in but has to be done properly. Get the oversized ones so that they are andra compliant with excess thread exposed.

Chunky. Not bad for what I heard was a stock bottom end Oh and I doubt that Jap bowser fuel is as oxygenated as the VP gear, how much timing did you end up winding into it? Good results anyway, time to do some benchpress practice with gearboxes

From what I could see, there were too many cars on the track to do any serious time attack efforts. Most people were content to just do rolling burnouts on any section of straight, or try and drift a bit. Imagine all categories at a track day going on the track at once, and drag cars at that! Was funny tho, and a great sight to see alot of blown, methanol burning open pipe'd V8's smoking the treads on the main straight. I shudder to think how many 200l barrels were consumed over the weekend..

700+HP kit cheap for GTR
DoughBoy replied to rb31's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey that's WONDERFUL that an AUTOmobile like that has such a motor. Hope it works out and verified -
Raw like an onion? Or like a potatoe?

It's all irrelevant considering the whole Sport Compact rules are now DYO. There's no motivation to build a quick car conforming to the rulebook when a stock auto can sweep the podium. Just looking at the American scene, where it is still a heads up series, Supras are quicker than 4WD competitors. The added weight and resistance of 4WD isn't as great an advantage as you would think. On the street it's a different matter

Funny thing about buying modded imports is that it's all well and good when they are running, but since they are often near their deathbeds they turn into hell expensive projects... or left motionless in the garage. But it still can work out cheaper than building it locally. Quite hard to hide the flared GT-R guards and call it a GTS, I doubt many people will get away with it. Good luck with it, I'm sure it will be somewhat competitive on the local scene.

Bu5ter has one up for sale, I think he was asking $10,000. Hey that's the same price as some Trust 6 speeds are... or so I hear.

/bitch Roy, meaning to doubt you but I would place a bet on the fact that your RB26 cams were not installed correctly, and the workshop handling your car had no f'ing idea and jerked you around. Quite possibly they have parts of yours lying around their workshop. /bitch off

Craig you should be banned from the internet. At least until the insurance company has concluded their investigation and you have received the cheque.

Argo and REV rods are cheaper than that, and made locally. Same with PAR - I think T88-Onboard still has a set for sale.

Modified series 2 ECR33 for sale
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Just found one of the dyno graphs for it, didn't get a chance to race it with this tune. -
I had nearly forgotten about this car, is sitting in storage and hasn't moved in a few months... so gotta try and sell it again. This car has been setup for circuit racing, although it's proving itself to be quite capable over the quarter mile as well. Car was bought privately in Japan through a friend, was not through an auction or car yard. I imported the car myself, and rarely drive it due to work commitments (working 7 days/on call 24hrs). As an example I have done 5,000k's in the last 24 months. Has got 45,000k's on the odometer. Car is a '96 model. Engine Custom low mount exhaust manifold, ceramic coated HKS 3040 turbo Trust type R wastegate BNR34 front mount intercooler Greddy intake plenum Q45 throttle body 550cc injectors Aftermarket metal head gasket 256 intake 264 exhaust cams HKS adjustable exhaust cam gear Greddy type S blow off valve Q45 air flow meter HKS pod filter OS Twin plate clutch PowerFC + Hand controller Nismo 3 inch straight through exhaust + screamer pipe Remote oil cooler Suspension Full Nismo circuit link kit Adjustable heim jointed caster rods Solid aluminium rear cradle bushings HKS Hyper D fully adjustable coil overs Apexi front strut brace, GT-R rear brace 17inch Work Equip rims Interior Full R33 GT-R interior (front + back seats, instrument cluster) HKS boost gauge CD stacker Exterior Factory White QM1 GT-R fibreglass front bar Ganodor electric mirrors Sunroof Removed rear spoiler with holes welded + repainted No body kit (apart from front bar) Factory mud guards! Factory "Skyline" optional light at rear This car has done a best time of 12.09 @ 123 mph, has alot more in it (time was done first time ever drag racing, at Drag Combat Final last year). There's more to be gained from tuning as well, cam timing still hasn't been touched and is running only moderate boost. In the current state of tune it's make 265rwkw @ 14psi. At 17psi it made 287rwkw. At drag combat was running with a 259rwkw tune. Offers around $28,000. Will be going out tomorrow to take pics of it. Car is located in Sydney.

Selling the motor in my black car, this motor came out of a written off BNR32 (hit a pole near rear passenger wheel, al la Mines Datsun). Motor was rebuilt in Japan, has done about 2,000k's since October when installed + tuned in my car. The R32 it came out of had 90,000k's on the clock when the motor was rebuilt, and was crashed at 100,000k's. Motor N1 pistons & rings JUN crank collar Apexi metal head gasket Apexi 260 deg cams N1 oil pump N1 water pump Head porting + servicing Turbo setup Turbonetics T66 ball bearing HKS exhaust manifold HKS GT wastegate HKS metal exhaust gaskets Accesories Power FC Pro w/hand controller R32 GT-R loom 700cc injectors Apexi fuel regulator Cam gears OS Giken twin plate sprung center clutch Trust twin AFM pipe Z32 air flow meters Apexi air filters Dump pipe to cat Car has only been tuned once, cams have not been dialed in or maps cleaned up. Has more power potential, but have a new project on the way and don't want to waste time or money on it. Looking to sell the whole lot as a running package, but can seperate if there is enough interest. Have another compressor wheel if more power is needed. Asking $10,000 for the lot.

O I mayhap have some good condition, for you seek yes?
-
To get a fair amount of power you need to do the same things to both engines - injectors, ECU, turbo etc. Then add on the price of the GTR front cut. I got 321rwkw at it's current level of tune on the black GTS, my white GS-t got 287rwkw for less outlay, time and headaches. What is your real goal on the project? Sub 11s? A unique conversion?
-
It's alot easier with a complete front cut as there are a million little differences in the wiring, also the brakes and other sundry parts would make it alot better in the end. As far as tuning potential, if you look at examples that use the standard bottom end they end up with similar amounts of power... Meshmesh + his R33 GT-R made 320kw w/2530'sm Bu5ter's R33 GTS-t made 330kw with a Trust TD06-25G kit. Don't be misled into thinking the engines are vastly different... I put an RB26 into my GTS, with the wiring loom/computer it was a pretty straight forward swap. If you can use a workshop's facilities with assistance from a mechanic it will be very easy... but you might be dissappointed in the end result.
