What size cams are you after? What sort of mods are on the engine?

A set of 6 used RB26 rods, perfect condition, were pulled out of an R33/ 65,000Km motor that blew a head gasket + subsequently is being rebuilt with all the goodies. $350 for the set.

RB26 rod: 120mm? RB26 crank: 73.7mm RB30 rod: 154mm RB30 crank: 86mm Add the fact the RB30 block is ~1 inch taller and by using RB26 rods + crank in an RB30 block you've got a piston sitting ~40mm down in the bore at t.d.c. That's one massive piston you'd have to use...

There was a thread about this on the SDU forums, Reece has "apparently" put a tube front end on his T51R powered GTR, and that run was done shutting down because his bonnet flew off. Croydon's have sold there car to someone in the U.S. too, "apparently".

How did you manage to fit the RB26 rods and crank into an RB30 block? Most curious as to this engineering feat.

Brendan, I put the 3040 with the .73 housing on my car, along with cams etc.. Will be down at the UAS wakefield day if the thing gets tuned by then. Can compare it against your setup then?

By raising the boost the turbo has to be able to support it - it might be more efficient running high comp/ relatively low boost than high boost/low comp. Depends on alot of factors - head porting, cams, inlet, intercooler, state of tune etc. Hey Meggala, what's wrong with racing an import straight off the docks? Nice that you have engine internals, but a Trust 2.7 kit includes a custom crank - std. one is in the pics. As for compression, there are alot of Jap cars running 9.5:1 with 30psi setups... admittedly they only use race gas at that boost level, but wouldn't you run a lower amount of boost (and premium fuel) on the street anyway?

The multi checker just displays some values from the engine harness. PowerFC hand controller shows the same stats.

I don't think you need to worry about competition sir! The numbers have been growing fairly quickly, as opposed to track days where there's a meeting once a month with the drags it's (or was) once a week.

HKS do a lowmount cast iron manifold for RB20/25. I'm in the process of fitting a custom low mount manifold to an ECR33/RB25 - HKS GT3040 turbo. It's pretty tight, but fits. Will post up some pics when the manifold gets back from being coated.
