  1. Mechanical injection is teh winner in this debate guys, sorry to waste your time posting!
  2. Yep, just touch it when you car is clicking alot, or pull the plug off the back.
  3. I've got a PowerFC on my ECR33, using std. GTR injectors and a resistor pack. Works fine, computer doesn't know the diff >
  4. Close up: And It's the long solenoid in the top / left of the pics.
  5. Have to wait a few weeks for teh engine dyno chart.....
  6. Shhh, I wanted to be unique with that setup!
  7. Is it the variable valve timing solenoid? It's the protruding knob in front of the inlet on cylinder one, when the motor is ticking put your finger on it - if it's dancing in sync to the clicking sounds then enrol it in an all boy band. Or disconnect it and see if the ticking goes away.
  8. One fiddy! But you're out of luck trying to get that complied. Cheapest would be to ship it to N.Z., submit and get the paperwork approved, then ship it back/
  9. I only had a quick glance, but I didn't see any pics of GTR-700 in there. Rezz, those GT-Rs lined up are all Autostyle (a car dealer) car's... well customer cars. As Roy pointed out, they all had dyno charts stuck up on their windows with 400kw+ readings... but none of them raced? Also there was a maroon ECR33 with a 3L/T88 combo (and a ton of stickers) - did anyone see it run? Had gold RB26 covers on the engine but was a RB25 head...
  10. I imported one, cost around $1300 from East Bear. That was excluding tax..
  11. It's legal to drive here with alot of international licenses. There was a scam a few years ago where people were getting their international license (a generic one issued from NRMA and other "motoring" groups) without having a "real" license first. I'm pretty sure you can still do that.....
  12. R33 ones are newer!
  13. Regardless of what some websites claim, I'm still pretty skeptical about the output of GT-SS turbos. Merli's car should be pushing them to their max flow, there's another R33 with them installed without internal mods (apart from cams). Will try to get a copy of a dyno sheet when it's available. As to manufacturer quotes and idealised output ratings - can you tell me one manufacturer, distributor or turbo sales outlet who's turbos actually put out the power they claim? Even when used in a twin configuration the power is less than the sum of the two parts. Oh, and I think we're pretty much splitting hairs on the whole GT-SS thing - until you see anything first hand I wouldn't believe it.
  14. I can recall a post from someone with some credibility on these forums claiming that . Taking that off the 576.2ps (423.79kw) gives you 358.79AWkw. Quote some number.
  15. Hi guys, does anyone have some numbers from yesterday's meeting? I know GTR-700 ran a 8.44(?) on E/T slicks, were there any other Skyline or notable times? What was your general impression of the event? After getting there at 2:30pm I only had a few hours before I had to leave. Was pretty p'd off that they had a 2 hour break from 3-5pm...
  16. Greenline are asking for $400 for a set delivered.
  17. Haha cool! Now to find some thicker paper that will go through the printer...
  18. Check this out: http://www.phoenixs.co.jp/bigsite/ranking/...r-18_2600a.html It's a chart of Phoenix's Power and cars they have tuned. This one is for low mounts. Interesting to see the range of turbos that they have used.
  19. SK, i'm not sure that doing a comparison based on those revs (4250 ->7250) is going to be that valid. I'm pretty sure that a big single could whip those figures at all rpms quoted - does this mean a T88 is better than 2530's?
  20. The low grade nitrous used in NOS systems or commercial applications has sulphur in it to prevent misuse. The medical grade found at the dentists, hospitals etc. doesn't have that element - but I think you need a license to purchase the good stuff.
  21. Aww come on, what about the electronic B.O.V. for N/A motors? Surely that's gotta come in at least a close second?
  22. Hi Guys, I've decided to sell my GTS-25T. It was imported/complied Feb 2003, I have done about 8,000k's over the past year. It wasn't at an auction yard in Japan, it was bought from a friend. 23. Go for a drive in an R32 2L turbo, then an R33 2.5L turbo, then consider that the 3L is going to have at least then same difference in torque over the 2.5L. I hate to say it, but after driving an R32 with a few mods it felt gutless compared to the superior driving experience offered by my R33. Hoses popping off not included
  24. I personally believe that turbo engines benefit from measures such as tuned length extractors, well shaped and flowing heads, large camshafts etc. similar to a naturally aspirated engine. But since turbo motors produce ample power most people don't consider these things. Turbos can easily compensate for poor intake/exhaust design, low flowing heads etc, but unless you are wanting to extract more power (or the same level of power more efficiently) these "minor" issues don't get addressed.
  25. I got the last one >
