  1. What if the wastegate(s) was(were) jammed and they only noticed it after it had spiked... then backed off quickly?
  2. I've got a feeling there are going to be some pretty quick NSW Skylines popping up very soon... i'll even go so far as to say the RWD and 4WD record holders are going to be in NSW.
  3. I hate to ask, but why is the dyno printout a bit... wet?
  4. How was the track? That's a pretty good effort - you're going to remember that you were the 1st people to have a race at this track Did you record better times than at the old strip? Oh and is the food still $hite?
  5. Garage Menace: Is that Shogun in Sydney, or another state?
  6. The lowest it can go is 500rpm. And it doesn't idle at that. Call me paranoid....
  7. If you are taking your head off to port and polish don't you need to replace the gasket anyway? Or did you have a great new way to do this without affecting any engine gaskets?
  8. Screw the shroud, that price on them makes baby jesus weep.
  9. Once again SK you are a wealth of information! Thanks for the prompt responses!
  10. You could use a spacer plate for t3 flange -> T25 to use the standard exh manifold.
  11. Ok, another pop quiz - what is the compressed thickness of the std. nissan head gasket on an RB26?
  12. Top stuff! Thank you kindly sirrah!
  13. Hi guys, Would anyone have a validated figure for the cc size on an RB26 head? I've heard alot of conflicting values ranging from 50cc up to 72cc - and have no idea what it actually is. I would cc my own head but laziness and the fact there isn't one ready to measure here stop me. Thanks!
  14. Considering that all RB blocks have the same bellhousing bolts you can run an RB20 RWD gearbox behind an RB26 if you wanted to. It would be easier to run the ECR33 or Z32 gearbox (VG30 boxes fit, but have a shorter length to the shifter and a couple of minor things). A more labour intensive approach is to use an RB26 box and disconnect the 4wd mechanism. But then you have a very very heavy gearbox, and might find yourself running out of mates when you need to change it.
  15. It would be easier to transplant an RB26 into that car - or find an RB25 out of a 4wd model. The bottom of the block is wider to accomodate the larger sump/front diff assembly - I think RIPS is making sandwich plates to adapt a RWD block to the 4WD sump. Other than that Nizpro are making those uber girdles - they might be able to accomodate a 4WD sump as well.
  16. Hey INSANT, could you post a couple more pics of teh manifold? Like one from the other side please? Just curious about the GCG manifolds and how the runners are shaped + welded. Thansk!
  17. I could have sworn alot of people were bagging out plain bearing turbos only a couple of months ago.
  18. Hi, I was pretty interested in this just from reading the description. However, after checking out the pics, due to the severe roof and side damage could you please get a pic of the rear suspension cradle, especially near the drivers side? What is the front of the car like? Could you also send me some pics of the rest of the car? Pics to [email protected] Thanks!
  19. Hey looking at it on paper, if you put 2 x GT-RS on an RB26 it's meant to have the same output as a T51R KAI? Does that mean the Kai is as "responsive" as a GT-RS setup, or that the GT-RS has as much lag as a big single?
  20. Standard cooler is only 75ish mm thick. Trust one is gooooood. If the std 'cooler can handle 300kw, the Trust one has got to be worth a bit more.
  21. Hi, I noticed you are after a set of N1 turbos to suit an RB26. I've got a couple here in good condition (zero shaft play) for sale - asking $2000. Let me know if you are interested. Regards, Chris
  22. Rocket Industries should be able to help you out sourcing valves if you don't want to use genuine Nissan ones. Shims fit between the valve top and the lifter. Here's a pic from the Tomei site:
  23. The price I have on turbos is mainly based on condition of turbo(s). Rec retail on the AX's are 398,000Yen, so loosely convert that to $AU5,000. This is a loose figure not including shipping, gst/customs fees or even a discounted "sale" price. All of HKS bolt on replacement turbos are cheaper than the AX series, so one would hope that there is something exceptional about the Apexi's.
