  1. Unless you use a thick spacer plate the compressor housing is going to hit the exhaust manifold. Have to make sure that the HKS 3037 is a T3 flange, majority of them are T25 (I think the external wastegate ones are only T25).
  2. Sounds like a sweet engine package... how much were you offering to do those as a drive-in drive out deal again?
  3. We used to have a TX3 4WD Laser that had gearbox issues. Short of getting an aftermarket gearset the most that could be done was strengthening the standard case and modifying the syncros. We also found that rally teams had the most experience with modifying 4WD boxes on the cheap
  4. Luke, did you add titanium retainers as well? How much are Isky springs + ti retainers worth?
  5. Don't you think for a moment that even though Tomei's website only lists their current 2003 catalogue they may have made some items not currently on offer? Going by your reasoning HKS never made a 2.8 liter kit with a spacer plate, nor any non-lcd boost controllers in the EVC range...
  6. Syd Kid, click on this link for standard cam specs.... including what type of followers/lifters are used in standard motors.
  7. Standard or aftermarket?

    Wtf?!?

Oh and they are asking $95K for it.

    Wtf?!?

Just called them, if it was true I would have given them a deposit on the spot. But it's a misprint
  10. Ice180: Both items are still for sale. I only post on this forum with this nick. R21 GTR: PM sent.
  11. Sorry to say Sydneykid, but I actually bought your solids off an anonymous warfie. He claims since the new RAWS reg's went into place everyone there is going broke and actually have to work to make some money. Here's another R34 RB25 thing... the rods are identical to RB26 ones. Not the same part number, but identical in every other way.
  12. Just add my 2 cents, the earlier model RB25's (R33) come with hydraulic lifters and the major japanese tuning shops only make cam profiles up to ~264 degrees duration with off the shelf type items for those lifters. Late model Rb25's (R34 and some lucky R33's) come with solid lifters standard and can run the more aggresive profiles. This includes higher lift and more duration. Some shops offer bolt in hydro to solid conversion kits - it's not a terribly hard thing to do. Or you can knock off an R34 head. You only need to machine the head if you are chasing more than ~10 mil of lift.. something which most off-the-shelf cams for the RB25 don't have. Also, just because you can't find a specific cam from some honky manufacturer doesn't mean you can't get it. Bu5ter's car has some wickedly large cams in it, sounds like a rotary at cold idle. There are quite a few cars going around that are meant to have more than 500hp with "only" 264 cams.
  13. Check the number of blades and the actual design of the compressor/turbine. It's a bit more than just mix n' match from a Garrett spare parts bin.
  14. That's a pretty good result. 387 Rear wheel horsepower from a six cylinder motor with 370cc injectors is a very efficient use of fuel.
  15. I think the GT-SS and GT-RS are too new to be a common turbo conversion in Aus. Plenty of 2530's + 40's.... Merli was doing a bit of research about the new ones, he might be the one to ask. As far as web-board comments and opinions, the UK GT-R board has a couple of people that have tried both... and swear by the GT-SS. They claim the GT-RS is too big and meant for a stroked engine..
  16. If you are after 600hp you should buy a T51R SPL. Nice and streetable with the ability to get up to 650hp with more boost. A 5 inch exhaust would make it spool really quick, like 2 bar at 2,000rpm. Perfect for third gear burnouts with the standard CA18 gearbox. Need a single plate copper clutch though, so it hooks up mad. If you get a carbon bonnet you will go faster too cause it's 50kg lighter than a GT-R bonnet. My friend's holden ute has 600hp with big chrome rims and he's making 600hp with the standard turbos but with a GCG 700hp Hi-flow cause you make the horsepower that their numbers say you will.
  17. Second hand they can go from $1500-$3000. I don't think the turbo is really all that expensive - it's the rest of the support systems you need to use to run that turbo. Figure in fuel system, intercooler, suspension, clutch/driveline and then the actual motor and it soon adds up to be a not-so-cheap upgrade. There have been some SR20's with T88's, but these things are absolute screamers - say hi to your new close ratio box, I think Munro was selling one for ~$10,000....
  18. Like Carlo asked... full or half day? Can make a morning session, but need to get outta there by 12.
  19. Compressor maps? We don't need no stinkin' compressor maps. What ever happened to blind faith? Guess no one is religious here...
  20. If you are not going to get it complied to Aust standards then why are you after a 15 year old vehicle? Or you specifically want an R32? One car I know of on this link is at one end of the spectrum, how modified do you need? PM me and I'll see if I can help you out.
  21. Is this for the Q45 throttle body conversion? I attempted to fit a standard RB25 sensor to the Q45 t-body but it's not a bolt on fit.
  22. Just to add my 2 cents.. All the new HKS turbos I have seen all come with the fittings necessary to bolt them up to a standard motor. The 25 series to suit RB25/20's are a bolt in solution - they fit the standard exhaust manifold, dump pipe, AFM to turbo pipe, and with the fitting kit you get a 90 degree elbow that fits after the turbo. The rest of the mods like stainless AFM pipe/dump pipe etc. you can deal with later at your own leisure. All those costs you added up Mr. Sydneykid are also relevant to your GCG high flow option....
  23. S15 gearbox is extremely fragile. They break too easy with a SR20, let alone the torque from an RB25. A common mod is to swap the 6 speed for a 5 speed for reliability...
  24. 6 speed as in an R34 gearbox, or an aftermarket Holinger, OS Giken, Trust, HKS or ORC? There are quite a few running the aftermarket boxes now, R34 ones are pretty massive + you need to run the R34 transfer case, and get a custom driveshaft made up to run it in a '32. Also I think the spline count is different in the R34 Getrag box - need to buy another clutch as well... EDIT: Oh and as far as prices go.... around $15,000 for a 2nd hand Holinger, up to ~$23,000 for a new one with sequential shifter. Trust boxes are the cheapest of the lot, with 2nd hand ones costing as low as $8,000. New price for the OS Giken + HKS are the same, and the OS comes with a sequential shifter... around $17,000.
