  2. hahaha... yeah, No. lol. about half came from that, other half I shanghaied off Brads car. I may not of read that thread well enough, didnt seem to go much into dive fins/canards and fin area and attack angles etc, so again will just mess around with those. will mount them so they can come on and off easily

  5. few pics of bar with braces, and guards sitting on the car. picked up my Bond cage yesterday. few jobs I can cross off the list tho, sooty is starting to look like a car again. brodie did his usual crazy insane paint magic, looks fantastic. I tought him well good result. going to paint the cage and pull the carpet out and removed deadener in the next few weekends and paint the interior out to match the car
  6. my " big wing like Mig fighter jet" lol. been primed since this pic and rubbed yesterday, painting tomorrow. got a 1760mm JapSpeed wing on the ass end to balance it out, gurney and braced from boot skin to the chassis rails/ boot floor.

  8. yeah you can run a ex gate provision off a stock manifold, but welding to cast is a little tricky, but can be done. there are a few places that could do it for you. other option is to get a old HKS low mount cast manifold with 4 bolt gate provison. rareish, but work okay. or get a custom manifold built with the gate provision built in. you'd be looking at around $850 min for something decent. I have a stock manifold here, you could take that and get that modded, I would think you could do the whole thing for 2-300 bux with a cheap gate, just becareful which one you get. the other end of the scale is to get say Ryan up at ulverstone (capel motorsports) to build you a manifold, he does fantastic work, on par with 6 boost. that will be around 850, then if you buy a genuine gate, say Tial 44 or 46 your going to be up for 1200ish by the time you've done gaskets studs and nuts etc.
  9. those shithouse dumps are just that, shithouse. a better way would be to pull the turbo off, tack the internal flap shut and weld a pipe off the exhaust housing, and mount a gate off that, use a V band or 2 or 4 bolt gate no worries. absolute waste of time on a stock turbo but if its purely for sound, much better way to go, there is 1 or 2 decent chinese gates on the market, some of them are shockers. I'd wait til you get your hands on a better turbo, even a high flow would be okay. then fiting a ex. gate off the exhuast housing wouldn't be quite as much as a waste of time, money and effort. in other news I've organised a oven for saturday to paint all the bits for my datsun. prepped the front bar last yesterday, just need to prep the front guards and door, and spray them out. will sit the panels back on the car on sunday, except the bar, need to do a bit with motor so wont put the nose back on just yet. just about to go put wheels back on it so i can move the bugger about again. this fine weather and daylight savings has boosted motivaton lol
  10. thanks Jay. scouted the globe for a wing I liked, well to be honest I dont 100% love any wing on a 33. I think the best overall looking wing is the S2 wing. GTR wing is not much chop even on a GTR, S1 is shite, stealth wing is overdone, okay on GTR drag cars. Anyways the point of is it is handling, aero grip. I want to dabble in super sprints and time attack and hill climbs and aero is something I want to play with. car will be back together soon, will look okay with splitter etc all painted up. will get pics up when I'm done. the beauty with wings is, they bolt on/off. this is the 4th wing thats been on my car over the last 4 years =) if I wasnt setting the car up for light motorsports events I'd still have a stealth wing or S2 ;-) cheers
  11. few quick pics of my datsun with new wing mocked up into position. fixed the few little marks on my drivers side door today and brodie primed it up for me, he also painted his cooler for his GTR. going to get my beastie painted up and kit back on in the next few weeks. got the oven booked. will get cage in it in a week or two. getting there, bit by bit

  16. spotto'd some great racing at basky this weekend. also picked up my front LCA's I had Brad mod, looks awesome did a great job. much better that buying poxy chinese LCA's. very happy,l have full adjusment now top and bottom =D some great racing, brad set a new record too, great stuff. good to see Leigh's car looking a bit more tamed now too after further tweaking, go the datsuns
  17. I'm 400kw's, running on red cordial. and aiming for 400 on e85, have done 351 on pump at 22psi. 318 on 17psi dont need more til i get the beasty sticking better! =D

  19. I have KKR castor rods in my car, put them in about 18 months ago, i guess they have done around 2000 kays and around 5 track days. pulled them off yesterday and they still look good, rose joints have free'd up but no play.
  20. so if i understand, a bond bolt in cage is still OKAY this year, and can be log booked but not after 31st of DEC? so as long as i get it done before then? or no? Cheers
  21. he's refering to Pete Nunn, not brad. Brad's car does indeed have massive power and ballistic brakes he competes in the TSS, so no, not just setup just for symmons, obviously baskerville as well. And yes obviously things are changed between the two circuits. last race meet at basky he broke the lap record for that class, GTA.
  22. uhhh rightio, good stuff. not something I'm going to worry about unless my wiring ever gives me grief. easy for you i guess as your a auto leccy. I still have a lot of easy crap to kick out so i better attack that first.
