My R32 Gtr Vspec1 Project Car
Mr. Untouchable replied to trustr32's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Ryan capel used to and probably still does put steel wool in catch cans jangles, it's meant to be a great air-oil separater. And yes since it's 3/4 full of the stuff there will be a whole lot less sloshing about. Going to try finish off the welding one night this week. -
love this build. inspiring. and who doesnt love a 31, respect!

Awesome build mate loving the little 1%'s like match porting etc. it makes a lot of difference in the end when you've put so much of your own hand time in. Even tho it may not be quite as good as what a pro shop might have done, if you can do a good job yourself I think that's always better. I bought a tig welder and did my own fab work. Didn't really save myself much but it didn't leave the garage and had some fun at the same time. Any muggins can pay someone else. Not so sure about spray can painting lol I'm a ex panel beater and was lucky enough to do my time with a prestige shop, so not so big on spray can jobs lol. But credit to you the bits you've done look quite good. It's coming together great, going to be a very very nice car that engine is a ticket item to making it a stand out. Special Japan magic. Putty I'm a thousand or so Kay's away otherwise I could of sorted that few little rusty patches for you. I'd say she's seen a little bit of salt in the northern parts of Japan. Not as bad as a lot of them tho. I wouldn't be too worried about what you uncovered, minor. Keep it up mate.

Thanks for that Damo. That's good news.

QUESTION - for our local super sprints, hill climbs and time attack event, does a unregistered vehicle require a log booked cage? my Bond cage can't be log booked, I see on the mainland this seems to be the case. all because its not road registered?

Az's trailers sound nice but I simply can't justify it. Brody thinks 2k if we were to build, have a contact on the steel, that's more like it. Might be able to put slide in cage sides on one and use it as a yard trailer also.... Get rid of parents box trailer kill two birds with one stone. But paying 4-5k I won't be.
-
Wtf why are basic car trailers like 4-5k. That's like quarter of a Evo 8. That shits not happening

Yeah game fishing in the states and in Mexico is insane, must do a trip someday, big yellowfin out of Mexico, or "cows" as they call them. Yeah for me a Red Evo with RPF01's, one day. As for the datto, I'm unlikely to sell it because it just won't bring the money I'd need to part with it. I also want to feel the modifications I made, I have made a lot since I last tracked it. I have copped a bit if stick for even mentioning it lol. But one day I will own a Evo, even if its as well as the datto

My R32 Gtr Vspec1 Project Car

not going too bad for a homosexual, round 2 of the catch can next weekend! just gotta show the ally who's boss lol -
Mmm lots of love for my car lots of hate for me ATM lol. As for the re spray, what you want by the sounds of it is a 'closed door' re spray. Bonnet off door handles out, mirrors off etc moulds/trims off and some dents sorted and some primer here and there and some new white all over? Pretty simple task whites hard to get wrong, I would estimate 4k roughly at most body shops. The higher end shops might be higher but it's not a complicated job, just time and a bit of product. I'd be a bit shy of random backyard cashies some monkey with a barrel of acrylic could make a mess of it. I don't know of any good backyarders up their either sorry

I didn't know nick sold them nowelly. But on further investigation they are starting to become more popular and they are getting a good rep, a lot saying up with RSR's for less money. Last time I checked R1Rs were way to many $$$$$ 350ish for a streety, no thanks.

lol so far i've had a lot of that...... one good bit of news I've had since i have had my head elsewhere is the Ol cheap Achillies 123's are dirt cheep and fast? well fastish anyway 3rd place at the time attack just gone was on them and summers is talking them up big time

I live it and Breath it Justin, tassie is spoilt with great fishing. The boat is up for some maintenance if the bill isn't too high I might keep the datto ultimately I'd like a Evo 8 or 9, something totally street able but capable of 58's at basky. It's doable in nearly a stock car. Ray Tuttle has done it.(Rickards at the wheel) A red Evo with RPF01's would go down nicely but 4 door and 4 cylinder isn't quite as cool as the datto. Will see how it pans out. I think I'm just going to have to lower my expectations with the datto a little just to get it going sometime soon.

Def won't part out. And certainly not desperate to sell, if the right buyer doesn't come along I guess I'm stuck with the Ol girl lol

Hi guys, have been thinking about parting with my car. Have been for a little while, but the thought of seeing it been taken away crushes me, hence why it's still sitting in the garage. The bottom line is i have 'rediscovered' game fishing, and can not afford to participate in motorsports and fish as well. The car has slowly been built up to a car that would be great fun in hill climbs and super sprints etc. it's pretty much imaculate paint and panel wise. It makes 320kw's on pump at 17psi. It has bilstein shocks, adjustable arms inc boost auto modded front LCA's. G4 356mm 8 pots up front, oem calipers on rear with aftermarket rotors etc. fully stripped/ painted out interior with sparco pro 2000 seats and matching harnesses & kidney pads. The wiring loom has been striped down, have done quite a bit of simplifying, the interior is very neat, high quality finish color matched to exterior. It has a 6 point bond cage. Doors have had intrusions removed, all screens lexan except for front screen. Car still retains a heater. Custom front splitter/bar, also has rear air guide from diff to rear bar. Origin Wing/japspeed adjustable wing. Wing & boot bracing. 18x9.5 + 25 all round. I could go on for ever and a day. It just needs a wheel alignment and a set of tires really. Anyway I knows it's a small market and it probably doesn't appeal to most. The fit and finish and quality will not disappoint.

had ash the size of 50 cent coins landing on us at the beach 50 kays away, spot fires are gonna be a bugger, and the rainy state has turned on another 30 odd degree day with zero chance of rain! typical. banjo's were feeding the many crews and supplying them with drinks etc, not a fan of banjo's but mighty good of them to supply hundreds of fire crews with free food.

Some say he's wanted by the CIA, and that he sleeps upside down like a bat... with his helmet and race suit on, all we know is, he's called the Stig.
