  1. what has changed is the number of quality imports seen on the roads (in the south anyway) used to be some nice supra's, atleast 5 i can think of, 4 of them went to the mainland and one i'm not sure. used to see some really nice GTR's, i know some were stolen, some sold to interstate and some converted to motorsports only cars. used to see some nice FD's, "Apexi" etc, now there is only 1 i see kicking about, belongs to a mate of mine. just seems alot were sold interstate, crash/stolen etc and weren't replaced with more. we had atleast two importers in the south, now both shut shop and gone. made a difference having a showroom of around 10 and the other keeping stock of around 6 anyways just a sign of the times, some nice 35's doing to rounds =)
  2. yeh man like a blown VK wiv drop tank and free quater race cam. off chops eats skoiloines for tea
  3. continuing to strip bits from the rear end today and prep the boot arear for paint. removed the battery base to find... MORE bloody sound deaner. nearly went into shock so quickly armed myself with the heat gun and my trusty scraper, took no more than 5 minutes for the horror to end. turns out its the stuff that wont freeze out, its the stuff you have to heat anyway so came out cleanly. happy easter folks =)
  4. yeah pencil in Saturday. Weather forcast at this stage is scary, could be a datsun weekend.
  5. which hooligan did you let weld that shit up? sack sack sack LOL start up soon!
  6. yup I'm at 90kgs atm myself =) I'm going to try get the Datto into the 1200 bracket (keeping it clean and neat, without turning it into a heap of shit) with min fuel, should get there.
  7. they run alloy exhausts a bit in the states, full race put one on the s14r thing but it blew out due to rubbing against a power steer line or something. got ages to think about it, only have about 1 trillion other things I need to do before I worry about it lol
  8. watched it first hand, i gave him a round of applause lol, and to come back and win with ease. good stuff, shame to see lowndes off he was providing some good entertainment. top day sunday, good track to spectate at since you can see the whole thing from just about anywhere. there was some quick datsuns in the support races too ;-)
  9. yep I understand, the $$$$ $low me down big time. all in good time!
  10. yep you win. LOL i know, still got more to go. you replaced those stoppers yet? you know you want to!
  11. I HAVEN'T spotted many decent skylines on the roads for bloody ages. There is a few tidy examples kicking about but seems to be a fair few less than there was 5 years ago or more. that goes for all imports. makes me )=/
  12. had today off as we had a big weekend, got the dust box out of the garage into the magic day it has been and stripped out some unwanted wiring. thats the ariel wiring, rear wiper motor wiring, rear demistor, Hicas, rear speakers, boot tail lamp, boot latch sensor, door open sensors and a few other odds and ends. still got the head unit and speaker wiring to come out, side mirrors wiring, re wired the relays in the boot for external pumps and rewired the lift pump. thinking about making carbon door trims, have been offered some carbon sheet, will see how what kind of coin he has in mind. door trims weigh up around the 3kg mark speakers 1.5ish and electric mirrors 1.9ish close to 2 and hoping to save 2kgs atleast on lexan door screens each door. i'll be happy if i can get 12kgs total out of the doors and they remain looking nice clean simply and tidy. another thing that I will look at one day is a alloy exhaust, there is some special grades that will take up to 600 degrees and will do the job after the dump. would save a bucket load of weight, Ryan (Capel) said they work out lighter than a Ti exhaust of same diamensions. anyway mine sounds shmick so will put up with the 20kg odd SS one for the time being =) cheers
  13. also the combined supersprint day on the 28 of Oct looks pretty tasty (Basky), and maybe the supersprint championship on the 25th of Nov (Symmons) =)
  14. I'm gonna say its either a test and tune day or maybe one of those days where say Audi and VW will be holding a test drive day type of thing.

  17. good thing my fab skills are a fraction better than my paint shop skillz. werd
  18. what sort of bar is it? Same as whats on the car? That would be a good bar to work with
  19. in the near future, after our boat issues are dealt with and the tuna season is past and i'm mostly done with my dust gathera, I need to build Nowelly a splitter. a big angry bastard splitter. incorparated NACA ducts and brake ducting. bit later in the year Nowelly, needs doing.
  20. everyone has there own little horror's and bits of info about various tuners, one of my best mates is an engine builder machinest for a very reputable machine shop in hobart and some of the things these so called reputable tuners that have been listed have done (I have seen these nasty's first hand), uhh yeah. anyways its gone too far already, good luck to the OP =)
  21. cool however, nowelly doesnt think Pro Auto is not reputable, he hid in his box and sucked his thumb because he (Mr Kuc) is a tad 'gruff' at times, therefore it is my job/god given right to rag the shit out of nowelly, it's how we work. its just that kind of love. sorry OP, back on topic. p.s i LOVe u Nowelly
  22. nope. bottoms of the rear shocks are the major difference
  23. oh Come'on Nowelly.... to add to that list, Andrew Kuc - Pro Automotive Moonah, Hobart Darren Anderson - Southside performance, Burnie just because Kutzie "growled" at you once doesnt mean he doesnt exist. hater dont hate nowelly troll'ey most Good mechanical/engineering guru's around hobart have been known to yell abuse and throw spanners pre coffee. suck it up
  24. as for the mounting of the splitter I have about 0.000001% percent of your Fab knowledge BUT..what I used for my main mounting of my bar/splitter was some 200lb fishing leader (I have it around as we are big on game fishing) and mounted it to the rad suppot panel with some nice stainless turnbuckles. tensioned them right up and its really sturdy. shouldnt be too rigid if it bottoms out (it shouldn't) I just mounted some nice eyelets to the splitter and made up the cables and yeah. 500 grams of bracing and with four of them its mighty strong. anyways I'm keen to see what you come up with! cheers, Jack
  25. Awesome stuff, great to hear an update. feel free to load some pics up, not that your busy or anything... =) and Goodluck for the Event this weekend!!
