  1. My mechanic told me while installing boost gauge and controller that markings on the engine made him think my turbo is a steel wheel instead of ceramic (he says that M-spec engines had steel instead of ceramic). Is this possible? If so then how can i tell for sure by lookin at the turbo thats it steel? Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. Thanks champion. Makes perfect sense. Now gotta last DD easter weekend!
  3. so your saying you can have both connected and run dual stage at a higher boost (with reduced difference between the stages). This is important because it means that my mechanic is possibly not a massive tard like i thought 10 minutes ago!!
  4. AWESOME, cheers fanny, you've answered the question perfectly. Alright, now go figure out what the hell the mechanic has done????? thanks all
  5. hmmm...my mechanic has installed a bleed valve, but the car still runs dual stages. Why does installing a manual BC mean you would have to remove the boost controller solenoid? Anyway, thanks for your response...i dont think were gonna be able to solve the argument tho
  6. Referring to the following topic in the Tuorial/DIY section; HOWTO: RB25DET High Boost mode with standard solenoid I posted a question in there that no one has been able to answer. At the start of the thread it says if you have an aftermarket boost controller you dont have to make the mod (cutting the ground wire to the solenoid and grounding it all the time so that the turbo is in high boost mode all the time). My question is, if you have only installed a manual boost controller...a Tpiece/bleed valve or something, then wont the car STILL be running in dual stage mode because the ECU is still controlling the solenoid?? Does this mean that if you have an aftermarket MANUAL boost controller, that you still need to do this mod to remove the dual stage operation? Please, please post if the above explanation isn't descriptive enough and i'll explain further.
  7. Interested at a reasonable price. Think your the one wasting your time at that price.
  8. Anyone got an answer. Do you have to do this mod still if you have an aftermarket MANUAL boost controller?? i.e. does the manual boost controller require removing the stock solenoid.....or is the stock solenoid still in operation with a manual boost controller????
  9. Apologies if this question has already been answered. 420 odd posts is too many to go through. Wondering if you need to make this solenoid mod if you have installed manual boost control i.e. a T piece or bleed valve??? At the beginning of the thread it says if you have aftermarket boost control that you no longer need to do the mod. But it seems as tho if you just put a T piece or bleed valve in-line, the ecu is still controlling the operation of the solenoid and so would you be running say 9psi to 4500 rpm then 11psi til redline????? thanks
  10. does the panasonic dvd player have a screen or is it just the dvd player??
