How the F does that work? Every modern engine ( past hmmm 50 years at least ) has similar freeze plugs in the head and block? When the head freezes they fall out ( without enough freeze protection) its a sacrificial plug instead of cracking the block or head ? australians dont normally worry about that until the plug rots out from corrosion unless they pass thru the plug into the head somehow ?

Noticed something today , the series 2 airbox has a completely different flow setup and they dont interchange properly S1 has a supersmall snorkle and much thicker profile The airbox lid wont allow the bonnet to close with snorkle ? S2 has about 500mm more width and the airvane inside comes right to the outside edge, the profile for air is larger , substantially larger near the top intake to the box ? , it sinks down to a more molded in fit around the radiator, charcoal canister , mine is cut now for even more flow and double the intake area on the box , will take some photos but if anyone has a uncut series 2 airbox snorkle take a photo and post it up Will post up my carbon hiflow version next week

Those are coolant welsh / freeze plugs , they rarely leak "coolant" unless you run water or your engine gets below freezing temps with inadequate antifreeze No oil would come from those unless something tragic happened , a fatal issue most leaks are rocker or half moon ? Clean the area off and watch it daily to see ? Overtighten the rocker and it will leak

Yeah i agree I like DEI products( viper etc ) but they shot themselve in the foot by charging yearly fees to monitor the car in the usa market its more or less "lojack" and " onstar" and DEI aftermarket , all pay services at one point In oz we like to DIY monitor of the car unless its a company fleet car or truck

Cost wise Viper system i think is about 300 ish plus install and yearly fees Others about 150-300 plus install Plus sim card charges for a year , only need sms unless you buy a tracker with 3g camera function added on to stream the drivers face to your device or cloud lol

The viper / cliford/ pyrhon system but it costs money yearly- not optimal but works Mongoose Think autopage has one Many mainstream brands are available eBay- metal case with external gsm and sat antenna's , finned case is better due to heat here But work perfectly fine if they use 3 band spectrums , use a full size prepaid sim One of the thing to watch is heat , the plastic cases warp and melt , most are rated about 50-60c and your car exceeds that easy in summer sun Needs external antennas for better cover in fringe areas or black spot cbd areas the ability to use your smart phone/ google maps pc etc to track, geofence , shut down the car remotely of course you wouldn't do that unless the car is stopped or moving slow, instant loss of power steering could be fatal and we all no crims have more rights then victims? If the car is driven By others geofence and speed alerts via sms or email with coordinates a backup battery that lasts at least 12 hrs A alloy or steel case that is screwed together Not snapped together !! Installed by someone who knows how to integrate and hide it like a factory install If you can find it in 15 min or less its not installed properly behind the radio doesn't cut it At the point a thief rips the car apart its the last line of hope of finding it in most cases so the longer it takes to find the better , skylines have some great secure hiding places ;-) as long as they cant trace the loom back If you use prepaid sims make sure you have credit , and its not expired lol you know so many people still run around with no credit on cells phones so tracker is going to be worse lol Test the tracker monthly !!!

The factory pipes are 2.5 in / 63mm The throttle body is 3 in The blitz neck is a taper as it passes thru the steel under airbox, think those were 2.75 in I have the numbers in the shed if your careful you can cut off the reduction and use a larger hose thats longer , its fussy but works Autobarn is notorious for not having the right size in turbosmart or saas so call first , they cost near on 50ish bucks each for turbosmart replacements Dont use t bolt clamps on the factory connections it causes fitment issues but replace all the clamps with good ones And i made seamless carbon replacement pipes instead of the factory steel ones , custom exact mold ! Watch the fabrication thread for photos , much nicer and lots lighter if anyone is interested?

The silica in the sand is like glass chards and cuts your lungs to pieces then you bleed out and drown in your own blood Long term health issues as well

Series 2 dont have white face gauges , titanium silver , I have mine for sale since nismo gauges installed now If i get time I will scan a few of the sales brochures of s1 and s2 gtt cant post on iphones easy so need to dig my laptop out lol slacker i know haha It would clear up the differences quickly Series 2 hates , front bar is soft looking , but nothing a little carbon or black paint wouldnt fix Fog lights help and so would a lower lip hate silver inserts but even worse are the S1 inserts Forgot s2 gets nicer floor mats with metal skyline logo and matrix thread pattern not embrodery logo. Mine are being redon with carbon fiber logo , made a mold of the steel one lol Hate , sunroof hangs low for my height and is tiny size , cooks you in summer if you have the shield open , mine is 5% tint now and shield redone The grey roof liner is cheap looking and gets dirty all by itself black microfiber suede looks heaps nicer now , under 50 bucks to do it love the car except its a theft magnet and police Knock on wood look but dont stop me , too old maybe haha Buy a top alarm first day and insure it full value

The series 2 is a more refined car , mostly because it was towards the end if the model run and they worked out some of the bugs Front bar the nismo one looks best Not camry mate , ford haha Trolley wing is damn ugly so it the rear bar off that kit One note the s2 front bar sits close to fmic compared to s1 bars , have to remove a fair bit of plastic for return flow type The rear bar without skyline imprint bulge looks best for stock, looks similar to gtr bar Seat material is better on s2 , the silver stains like a bastard with one drop of water even with scotchgaurd !! The black part is better cloth Oh series 2 cars had garret branded turbos not nissan ? and gtr rods but not sure if earlier neo's had gtr rods or not? shame they didnt use forged pistons haha Series 2 cars mostly have better stereo / ac facia if that matters to you ? really both mod just fine , just the series 2 would have less km so watch the 100k service thats a big one , and bushings failing , front passenger side wheel bearings failing Nissan dealers have very little info on series 2 finer details thru fast Auto box tiptronic on series 2 is supposed to be better ? Nfi ? Lots of mix and match body part come on fresh imports ! Drift damage? Crash ? Or just for looks who knows ? Prob Cheaper to buy a s1 and use the extra for mods , body kit lol No wings on gtt looks like a generic camry to me it downgrades the car looks imo

Pretty sure any decent interior shop could pull the top off and rebuild or heat up the tube and gusset plates welded in to make it stronger ? its a safety concern so it needs to be done right ? If it breaks you will fly like a unrestrained child into the back seat not good ! or crash the car ! anyone who has driven a car without a proper seat can attest to the fact the car feels like it has 1000 hp because your hanging on for dear life to keep from flying backwards( my rx7 seats were stolen and drove it on improvised seat to claim center in usa , only a few blocks but bloody hell it was hard to stay in one spot)

The welds will break on the pipes going up eventually , leg pressing it will kill the seat its only flimsy sheet metal , the aftermarket seats are stronger with bride rails but still sit to fn high for sunroof cars

Series 2 cars started build date late month 8/2000 , fast has f all info on them, my parts had 2001 date stamps and chassis is 9/2000 late month ( which is the end of model year for most car makers)but even the local nissan dealer cant find the parts # in fast for some of the options mine has?? My guess is the top part , nissan seats have done that since my old 1200 coupe , when your a large upper body you tend sit leaning in towards the console and after a while they bend sideways , extremely flimsy seats , just stamped metal and crappy welds that barely hold , so picture right top leans in and back , thats how they bend, another bonus is if your tall like me when you dig in your left pockets while seated , pushing on the floor it bends the seat from the leg press I bought aftermarket seats but only time will tell these are 6 months old and creak already , but have a lifetime warranty on structure inside strangely enough its just nissan seats no other cars I've owned bent ? had a few crack in half !! fix shite can them they need more bracing inside but its not worth the effort in most cases unless nicer stag seats or gtr ?

Safe way remove door card , flip over and undo the screw , use care the nose breaks off easy, drop switches off by the silver screws and black one with clip Other doors pop out but better to do it with cards off so you dont break them
