  1. LMAO .. Classic!!!
  2. now im teasing ya.
  3. Pete I think it was more the fact he wasn't moving, but parked at the lights and was hit from a dude going 80k who never even hit his brakes until after he hit him. and the factory optioned wheels , not weird offsets or huge sizes. and new rubber. more like a GTR R34 wheel on a GTT and they saw his car was modified by professionals not hacked up backyard jobs. but it was barely legal cause his stereo/frame mounted tow bar wasn't installed when he got the shocks installed, so it was lower due to weight in the back of the car from those items. what a quagmire of laws & regs, lol regency and insurance VS. consumers
  4. agree 100% with AWD, mine turns just fine my old VR4, shit turns= AWD my old Dodge V10 4x4 truck, = Shit turns, not including its like a ocean going oil tanker long..lol but even worse , a new camry,, shocking turn circle on the 4 cyl models.. just about have to throw the hand brake to slide it.. just to make a turn...lol no exaggerating at all. the car is crap on wheels
  5. I dont mind the heat, it beats freezing to death anyday... and its also good for cooking outdoors..lol anyone for eggs on the sidewalk..lol http://www.eggs.ab.ca/kids/Tricks/eggtrick007.htm
  6. lets just say my carbon footprint is like king kongs today ,,, A/C siting on 22c inside , outside its 46 under my patio, but a slight breeze off the sea , feels a tad cool. but step out in the sun and it might as well be in a closed car with me..lol ..at least 1k from the center of it..lol like ARC welding in the nude ? instant burn..lol even the birds in my yard are stunned and wont come out of the shade to eat, they run out grab the food and run back into shade. but they do enjoy the water bath today..lol hint when working on a car in the heat, never lay a spanner in the sun.. like grabbing a hot iron..lol watch out washing the car in the heat, the windscreen can crack if the temp is too drastic and screw the waterspots in the sun..lol
  7. damn double post
  8. well ended up with shannons today agreed value of 30k for 2000 GTT deductible 500 43yrs old rating 1, no tix, no accidents, no claims, ever knock on wood.lol 69 a month .lol it pays to live in the sticks/beach others seemed to think the car devalued by over 10k this year had to insist the car was worth more then 24k,,,,hmm bet they couldn't replace it for that much unless it had over 100k on it. chicken shit insurance companies try to wiggle out of everything dont they?????? the coilover deal was from a friend of mine who wrote off a car, not his fault a dude drilled him from behind at the lights. when just cars inspected the car he had to fight about the coilovers. even if it had factory option wheels with stock uprated tire sizes. they ended up covering him but not without a bit of a fight. the car was legal height barely.
  9. yes very easy to do, but watch out the load on the alarm brain cant be exceeded or it will fry. the current load will increase by 2 and most LED will be duller then, so you need to have it done properly. also some LED lights have a narrow field of view so watch out for that too..? you can also buy a better LED, or change colours, or scanners or just about anything you can imagine. a 555 timer(silicone chip) will run multiple lights on the Brain power output. for a few bucks, a good look is to mount them on the A pillars on both sides, or on cars with door locks showing , drill them and place the led in the outside layer of lock pin, or even in outer door handles near lock covers or mirror pods. just takes time to do . not expensive. but extreme care has to be used. a new brighter LED is under 5 bucks , takes a few min to install. but check the power output, a resistor is needed on most LED setups. output voltage varies, from 2-12 volts output. and a 1 amp fuse is a worthwhile investment on the line to LED's just in case it shorts out
  10. Myself and jack 88 can speak of alarms and audio, I owned/worked in a auto audio and alarm shop/home theatre in USA for 15 years and hold a master installer certificate in auto electronics. as well as Aviation advance electronics I can say , stay away form the cheap alarms(ebay specials, not covered by warranties ), stay with something from Direct electronics , Clifford, or one of the local major brands , makes sure the connections are soldered , no other connections are acceptable, black taped into the harness to look factory.and properly fused, and power from multiple sources. , pin switch on the bonnet, boot, back up battery , a GPS if you can afford it? or a paging alarm , the new ones work for a few K away, even in stores at the mall, depending on the metal and antenna placement. the alarm LED needs to be seen BEFORE the window gets broken? a field sensor is good if setup right? of course a shock sensor that is setup and tested on install, then a few weeks later after the wires settle in, a free check up is a must. the sensors shock sensitivity changes sometimes so make sure its free to reset a week or so down the track. crims setoff your alarm over and over until you get sick of it and shut off the alarm completely. so dont fall for it!!!! a 3 point system is recommended, but no matter what brand you get, its only as good as the install, and must be used everytime you stop, even in front of your house for 2 seconds. and even a shit club lock on top of the alarms delays and deters the thief to move on to other cars. the fuctions you get added , like windows, door locks, timers, sunroof etc can rack up the install cost fast, so be warned. the timers are defectable if hooked up. so dont place the sticker it comes with on the car , it alerts the cops to the turbo timer. besides just sit in the car for 30 seconds instead. you might think too much security is a pain but when you come out to a empty car park,,,, you will change your tune? or a pile of broken glass ??? prices range a lot in town and people do haggle on items like this. so HAGGLE!! I cant recommend a shop , maybe GT autosound or MOB because I install all my own stuff . and two remotes are a bonus, cause if you loose or destroy one, they can be expensive to get one afterwards. some 200ea. they must come with a lifetime warranty on install and electronics, no extra gimmick charges for that either. a good installer has no worries about it working for life of the car ownership.and proud of his or her work to let you see the process on another car. alarm just tossed behind the dash take seconds to bypass, make sure its mounted well out of sight and secure. the siren needs to be near the firewall, not near the cooling fans. no wires should be visible at all??? and if you fidle with the wires it wil void the warranty they can tell it you have !!! dont do it!! alarms are about DETERING the thief BEFORE break ins, and then about using as many ways possible to stop a crim if they break in. understand a professional car thief will get your car no matter what you do to stop them, if they want it,,, its gone. a GPS is the only hope if used the second it detects the car is stolen. good thing most arent pro's , most just want a thrash and burn,(joy ride) or strip your parts off and dump the rest. and dont expect a alarm to stop someone from breaking your window out if you leave items in plain view, the temptation is too great for crims. and the sticker they come with are a mixed bag, if you buy a good alarm advertising it will stop crims, but average ones dont bother it says steal me Im easy target. I have never seen a car with brand stickers broken into unless it has stuff out in the open , a cheap alarm, or the alarm wasn't on. which by the way voids your car insurance payout too. but know of surveys with crim , they will steer clear of cars showing a serious alarm setup. my two cents , feel free to ask away
  11. yes you can list it and should but watch that one, on page 20 mid way down of the "just cars" disclosure notice, says the car must be roadworthy? or the item most not be a contributing factor in the accident to be covered? pretty vague and I'm sure they come come back on you pretty easy , say coil overs are defecatable but you have them, bang your not covered if they get picky? cause they dont pass ADR they could just pin the blame on you? anyone had that happen yet ? Im on just cars but its due now so good bye just cars they wont cover my car for enough dosh. lumleys seems to be the cheapest so far for us oldies...no one under 25 and no limist to the amounts of coverage value details posted soon. and rhys5169 is right Ive heard horror stories form mates who crash skylines,NS,WRX even commies done up they will try everything not to pay out, the insurance in this country is shit. in USA they write you a check on the spot, no worries no BS. unless your drunk or kill someone it take mere min to sort out the car. if the mod is fitting safe and listed its covered , no extra excess except stereos over 5000k. they want video proof or reciepts. not sure why the insurance here is so bad??????? some places do a credit check to come up with your worthiness for insurance?, they figure if your a bad credit risk you could also be running a scam on them? ask them if your in doubt ?
  12. for those who want to see some of the photos, they got published in the News. http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/gallery...5017311,00.html

  15. I entered and didnt get a email either? in junk or otherwise? maybe its cause my car is stock ..lol
  16. my answer was based on this jack?
  17. good call jack forgot about that one,,in which case, find the Vehicle Speed Sensor wire on computer and trace it to the factory alarm module(look on a wiring diagram then test it with digital meter not a test light, but if your not a confident in car wiring get a expert !! hey jack you bored ? I dont have time or I would sort it out for ya. the wire would either go to ground or positive to trigger the door lock relay upon reaching 25kmh or so?
  18. I'm about a half a block down on the left, should have stopped by would have shouted ya a beer.lol
  19. look to see if there is a fuse for it, otherwise a diode or two will keep the factory alarm from seeing the door pins and ignition switch feed , stops the doors locking. there might be a door lock relay under the dash, on the drivers side kick panel area, get down on your knees and look under the dash while holding the pin switch closed on the drivers door, turn the key to the on position. listen close do you hear the relay click? you might be able to unplug it ?
  20. its a anti carkjacking feature on most alarms these days, program it off, by using the valet switch, in the alarm manual it tells you how or see the installer of it? simple to do.
  21. do you live down this way? I see a stag like yours often. abe what part of dinga do you live in? madaz that is a sweet dismount off the bike, a "triple lindy"..lol for the old timers who know movies. Heslo/Abe . 23. spotted a white r31 power sliding out on to south road at rush hour near maslins turn off. and running the stop sign too. spotted a nice dark silver stag on esply in aldinga beach near the tour down under start line. with gold and silver six spokers. spotted Lance Armstrong ride past my place this morning, I'm so over it..lol he didnt win, photos coming soon if anyone is keen here?
  24. I cant help with the impact wrench mines sitting in the states still..lol,,but have you tried a cheeter bar over the breaker bar? to make it longer? I'm sure you have but just a suggestion..lol
  25. Well after speaking to a lot of carbon suppliers worldwide, the consensus is Airbus is consuming more then 25% of the worldwide market of it. causing price to skyrocket and availability to fall. But I found some in Cali and some in WA, and a little here in town. so hopefully I Can find a good supply of it. check this space in a few weeks for project photos after it arrives.
