ouch, really bad news mate, and I agree with chad, if its flopped around the bore is going to be stuffed under the piston, if the main rod cap broke off expect a lot of damage in the sump ,crank ? which sounds like what happened if you can move it in the bore still you broke the main cap off the rod or broke the rod itself ? is there a hole in the block anywhere by number 6 ? it may have put a chunk out of the block to create the noise of something coming past you under the car ? also , if you tear it down check the oil pump/galleries it may have failed to get that problem with oil starvation ? easier to fix with the engine out ? plus its going to need machining anyway sorry for the bad news , ask santa for some forged pistons and rods ?

My R34 GTT with just 57,000 k on it has a weird gear oil smell that since i got it last january is driving me nuts, I get a gear oil smell coming inside the car at highway speeds with or without the windows open and sunroof open, or with or without a/c on ? seems to come up from gear stick area but I have taken the whole lot apart to see if the gasket has failed, and had Sinergy look at it 3 times under warranty, we dont see any leaks at all on any fluids? or burning of a oil on the cat or pipes under the car ?, no smoke , nothing at all just a stink of gear oil faintly in cabin had the oils changed to synthetic about 10k ago, no leaks or anything else found? its the 5psd - RB25 engine and its been doing it now for close to 15,000k but nothing leaking at all?Not even seeping on any seals? my thought is it might be inside the bellhousing , the front input shaft seal leaking into the housing just a tiny bit , not enough to get on the clutch? the tranny-drivetrain whines a lot more then I would expect in a low K car thats not abused or hamfisted shifting? nothing is loose and sinergy hasnt got a clue either ? I think the tranny is close to dying , when I corner hard the gear noise sounds worse in the tranny area ?, like a main bearing is worn and the gears are sliding over due to the G force and torque , oil moving to one side of tranny, the gears dont grind since the oil was changed over and no metal parts were found in the oil or drain plug magnet? another thought was a vent tube to the tranny is coming thru the vent in the firewall area , but havent gone on the hunt for the vent yet ? Sinergy thought it might be that? the clutch still has about 6months before it goes away so not pulling it out to look yet ? anyone else have any ideas or had it happen to them ?

not bagging you ruby but ? its a piston engine? same? same ? they all fail the similar ways in any car just some have more common problems (forced induction?) , and my Datto 1200 would run circles around my R34 GTT ( except top speed) , it was a full race car built for road racing completely stripped out with cage and built to Nissan/nismo racing manual/book , yes you could get the exact race car blueprints from nissan dealers back then...lol bet I could get a premuim price for my book and race spec blueprints now..lol since the Datto is a popular car again..lol 10,000 rpm+ from race built old school pushrod engine A12 engine with dual webers and 5 speed box outta newer one. It left many 911 drivers puzzled when I cained them up to about 135mph. geared to top out about 140mph which is bloody fast in a feather light car back in 1983...lol damn I sound old now..lol similar to this one but a lot nicer looking and sort of streetable still with lights and a radio

spotted a heap today a stock grey R33 on the expressway, pulled up next to me, didnt even get a look over ? a black no wing r33 with some tacky / chromie lame 20" pizza pan wheels with no clearance in the guards at all? and a dark hair guy with massive chicks sunnies on driving it ?lol Yellow kitted out R34 with black wheels on tapley rd A grey GTR R33 with black center 5 spokers at supercheap on port rd, out shopping but didnt see who it was inside the store? A white r34 with wing driving in front of me on henly rd too far away to see them up close ? a white r33 turning at marion rd near KFC , maybe VU from the looks of it from the front ? to far to see who it was ? a nice white r31 with grey bottom bits and rims and nice r31 in kinda a pearl wine red with dark bottom, lowered and rims looked nice ? a bright blue kitted out 300ZX heading towards seaford , see him often a dark grey R33 in seaford. a silver grey 4 Dr R34 in town, might have been Luke? but I was too busy dodging grey power behind the wheel today to see good enough...lol a black R32 GTR , beat down, worn out looking in the city not bad for a few hours driving ..lol OH !!!and a Sinergy Motorsports TV ad on channel 10 about 530, ..lol Lots of skylines in the ad!!!

damn the one day i go into town and that happens ? no its not mine , that sucks bad ,,,,, but I did see a r34 and r33 in white in the city today, to far away to see who it was ?

from the sounds of it remove the front timing cover top bit and take a good look, the belt might look ok but on a quick pull to see if its broken or the pulley is farked that hold tension. plus if it has adjustable cam gears it could have broken off hence the no start problem. the turbo is a bastard to remove unless its been off recently lots of wd40 and broken studs, bloody knuckles are the normal. check the front side of the cat for bits of ceramics melted to the core or shrapnel in the pipes take a look at the oil , is it full and milky looking or maybe overfull and frothy looking brown? check the coolant rad cap does it have a oily look to it, like oil on water or a brown frothy look to it ? if so its a blown head gasket and the motor is prob hydro locking so it wont start but not so bad it wont spin ? and well the oil pump is a fatal on most things, had one fail on my datto 1200 at hi speed, big mess took out just about the whole motor in 1 second good luck mate, pray for something cheap. but id guess a belt dropped or pulley.. but thats just a guess without hearing it

spotted a gun metal grey R32 GTR with a fiber bonnet , R34 GTR wheels and some funky looking front bar and "P" PLATES? at macca in seaford with a NS and subby I see it there hangin out all the time gave a wave but couldnt look the drink in my console was spilling over as i drove out..lol

could be a vast array of problems based on those symptoms the car doesn't need a turbo to start as long as the path is clear for air but if it threw the blade thru the motor it could have damaged it internally could be a timing belt ? or idler pulley failure or just a fried motor with broken rings or oil pump failure or ? if it spins over without weird noise but seems like the motor is flat sounding and not firing at all , check the timing belt or to see if its on and tight still my old skyline broke the bolt on the idler pulley and sounded like the motor blew up cause the pulley bounced around for a sec in the cover. and it turned over but wouldn't start, cause the belt fell off at that point, only 1 little bolt holds the pulley on, and mine sheared off just off idle as i stepped down on it. pain to fix but not expensive. good luck maybe if you can describe the motor as it spins over, sounds like no firing of the engine or turns over then fires and dies ? check the front of the cat, drop off the two bolts to the front side of it, if you find loose parts when it comes open you know there is possibly serious damage to the engine and prob the turbo too?

First car a 70 Datto 1200 coupe, then the next three were 1200 coupes turned into race cars for road racing. So the love of nissan started early. driving a few 240z and 280z, then 280zx, 300zx twin turbo. in USA no Skylines imported yet. moved to RX7 extreme street racer for 11 years now Im back to Nissan mainly Gran Turismo favorite car to drive..lol two visits to osaka ,on the way to oz, saw them on the streets in the flesh. very nice first cars in OZ for me, A R31, and Pinny (R31 body type). still have the R31 after 489,000k on unopen engine- leak free!!!, sold me on the quality of the RB so bought a R34 GTT after riding in my mates car . cause RX7 cost to much here. lol Skyline R34 GTT, Supra RZ twin turbo, R31 now. JAP cars rule!!! they take a caining and start the next day !!!! plus its a fun to drive a car that feels "Seat of the pants again" instead of driving a couch with wheels !!!

I dont think its wise to post/advertise your mods due to the PO PO defect situations with imports lately or break ins? but heres my latest go fast mods. fresh Air in the tires and BP ultimate fuel in the tank, Castrol Edge synthetic oil, fresh car wax job, nothing else "just Dead stock like the day it rolled off the show room floor". lol had to change the air in the tires for ADR compliance?..lol prob the next new suspected defect excuse..lol

spotted a white R33 coming north thru seaford tonight before sundown ? gave a wave nothing? spotted a black wet R32 coming out of the BP carwash on beach road, wave = nothing as I was pulling in to BP ? guy driver and a chick in shotgun? spotted another black R32 dry coming down beach road towards the beach when i was pulling out of BP, wave nothing, ? and a frenzy of P plate commys heading around the beach doing burnouts on every street corner. assholes get a life Im not impressed same with the guy in the landcruiser tailgating me so close I couldnt fit a peice of paper between us. all the way from aldinga to the expressway.trying to close the gap so close to try to scare me.. nice try Im used to bad drivers from the states.plus if he hit me Id be getting a new body kit..lol the asshole drivers are out tonight..just my two cents worth . sorry

Have a sansa (sandisk)8gb ipod look alike. looks like a older ones case with better features including fm radio and movies. same cables too? gets loud as hell too..lol battery lasts forever doesnt need itunes. has a basic media converted included if you want to convert compress movies. cheap as hell about 60 bucks a year ago including the workout protective case. arm band holder. and 4gb upgrade card expandable too. highly recomended , got it from strathies, haggle a little they will come down on prices..lol or ebay ? CNET recommends as well, (mine is the newer model of this one, same features only better firmware for more memory) http://www.cnet.com.au/mp3players/mp3playe...40091241,00.htm the only drawback is the charging , it only came with a cable to hook to USB to charge with. besides that no drawbacks at all for the cost. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- had a 80 gb ipod the hard drive crashed and lost all my music,photos,movies in a instant. the drive wouldnt spin up even after i took it out to put in external reader took the drive apart the heads crashed into the disk and got jammed . stay away from hard drive models ,plus harddrive models use more battery to spin the drives. have a multitude of other mp3 players in my junk box.lol including one old harddrive player with a 250gb drive in it ..lol from a laptop. it was going to be a used as a perm mount in my car but changed my idea to use a gutted laptop instead for mutimedia etc. heading down the iphone path in a few months when the newer models come out, a few drawback on the iphones gps , uses the towers trianglation instead of actual gps from sat. which chews up bandwidth allocation fast. and not compatable with all car audio decks yet?

the same thing goes for wearing your SAU shirts or hoodies, getting busted doing something wrong ? bang its the car clubs fault all of the sudden? branding is a powerful tool to stereo type a group of people ? I dont run a sticker on my car for the very reason of profiling. sorry pete missed your request, When you "felt up" my car fender it had a coat of tech wax 2.0 on it . about a week old. not clay bar for over a month or more it wasnt even washed just dusted off and NXT spray detailer ,wiped off. and yes it sits out in the elements and driven daily ..lol the process I had to do to remove the hazing and acid rain from Osaka Japan was megs. m105 with orbital buffer on a foam pad, then Megs show car glaze/sealer by hand, then a coat of liquid NXT 2.0 by hand , only because thats what I had on hand? when its gone im moving completely to the pro range. the M105 might be too much for your car, Id try the scratch X first then the sealer/ and NXT 2.0 , the NXT goes one very easy and comes off with ease compared to some of the others . if you want to try some scratch X I can bring some to villis to test by hand ? the NXT wont fix the haze on your bonnet but will shine nice, for that you will need a bit more work then that. but like most things go with the least aggressive first , if in doubt get your paint thickness checked first? I just went for it without problems and I tried scratch X first but it still left me with a bit of haze that annnoyed me. Yes I did the whole car in heavy cut M105 with a buffer it made a huge difference in the shine on the sides too. a big suprise ? cause I thought they looked pretty shiny aready..lol non pro retail of nearly 100 bucks but its majic..lol well worth it.not like the old product that turn your buffer pads the colour of the car..lol very very mild for a heavy cut liquid.not something you would have to do over and over, just once. PS.the guys who did the detail on my car upon import should have just left it alone they made a mess of it , so much for PRO's ? I asked Megs in USA about the long term wear of the NXT 2.0 wax. it was a complaint from others as well, it doesnt seem to last a long time in the open like the paste carnubas do ? I havent tried the NXT 2.0 paste which might be better? I do like the way it comes off after applying it, so easy compared to most. doesnt kill your arms. and doesnt get much dust /static build up. it does bead up water,,not hydrophobic like advertised..lol overall Id say its pretty good for the money and does shine more then the gold class line. for the 20 bucks or so it cost I would recommend it. over anything in the price range? just rememeber if you need paintwork done, advise the painter its on the car, the paint wont stick since its a synthetic based product with silicones in it not safe for a paint shop enviroment like the pro products ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________ Ive used autoglym with pretty average results, not bad just not as good as I was looking for in my paint. if your paint isnt damaged it would be ok to use just doesnt last long either? Sonex the same ? Turtle wax, in usa ,, never again..lol, eagle one , good glass cleaner for cheap otherwise no for the wax. Mothers yes, another great brand I use sometimes. the can carnuba is a lot of work but looks nice and last a long time. cost a bit much here and a lot of work to apply without streaks. zymoil and smells so good, looks nice but is a pain to apply on black cars and cost a fortune, the leather conditioner is tops on worn leather, makes it butter soft. and kitten I wouldnt use on anything. there are alot more not listed but unless you want to use pro product that cost a lot or require a good buffer/skills Id stick to the main brands or ask a pro rather then destroy your paint to save a few bucks. ask more then one person too.lol hope that helps pete..? sorry i can ramble on

So many good ideas and comments, some not so wise ones as well ?, Im sure I can speak for some of the older guys who have seen the cops crack down on cars and cruises in the past, In OZ and the States as well. every few years it seems..lol I know I joined this club to meet friends and talk about cars etc. a common ground similar to the Holden/Ford clubs passion, or even the Hot rods or classic cars. "we love cars and the ability to be creative in modding them" some of us aren’t narrow minded and understand the amount of blood ,sweat and tears that go into hot rods even if we don’t drive one we are respectful to the passion of cars?. Because most of those clubs are run by older guys who don’t hoon around and often do charity work for cancer etc? They garner respect from people by showing respect and responsibility to others in the community. Not by drifting thru a side street or going Underground racing in the hills? I'm not bagging anyone but to head 40+ cars into the hills is going to attract attention of the unwanted kind if it’s not a cruise with a cause IE.Donations to the good of the community? And publicized as such? I know it a pain to organize donations but it would show a positive aspect of car clubs. And if you can afford the big turbo etc a few dollars donation won’t put you in the poor house. This is just a suggestion no flaming required. But has anyone thought about the media attention in a positive way? Promoting car clubs in a good way, keeping kids from being hoons on weekends, because of self policing from others in the group? Another big one is keep the booze/drugs at home not involve it in the car cruise scene? Keep the stereos turned down in local housing areas, if your car is defectable because it’s unsafe, sorry but you need to get done. If it’s because of something silly or a cop on a mission that’s the wrong thing. The cops should step back and work with the SAU group, there are a lot of Jap import cars creating a lot of money in OZ on mods, and taxes regos etc. it’s wrong to pick skylines out as 80% defectable that is similar to racial targeting in a way? Im sure Holdens or Ford would exceed the defects 100 times over due the amount of cars on the road.a lot of worn out thrashed ones. plus since when did cops become Auto Engineers as well ? How do we take the power away from cops to defect cars for anything besides broken windows, worn tires,turnsginals, or excessive emissions’ (visible) etc regency is a money maker for the state simple as that? If we can take an adult professional approach to the club scene working with the Police instead of playing the defect game with them.I'm sure there are cops with hi po cars out there that would support this approach too? By going underground it’s just going to create more problems and give SAU the Fast and furious stigma of racing at night etc. And yes I’m sick of the constant look over by the cops, not doing a damn thing wrong. but I've been thru RBT's and never given a second look over the car , even with the gauge pod on the pillar.
