  1. Is this the silver and black vintage amp from about 2006 ish , They have loose rca jack issues !! Do this volume way down !! Ok no speakers or rca plugged in, protect mode? Yes amp is low voltage or farked , or screwed down and warped board inside No protection mode yet Plug in rca no speakers ? Now what ? Protection mode pull one at a time to find the culprit short Not protection yet Add 6 inchers one at a time ? Protection mode ? Yes which one , no ? stray copper hairs shorting screwdowns ? No then wire or speaker is stuffed Still no protection mode?? What ohm load is the sub ? Two voice coils or 1? Exact model # if you dont know One coil only your most likely at 4 or 8 ohms All good Hook up in bridged mode you will see the screwdowns for left positive and right negative on channel A is bridged mode for one coil of 4 or 8 ohms sub Protection mode yet ? No ? Its sorted Yes unplug last item to see if it cleared ? if the sub trigger protection make sure it moves free still and inside box wires arent touching metal frame or each other ? Do you have another source unit besides iphone ? Cd player or anything ? Someone elses car radio rca ? Anything ?? That iphone output device isnt the best and doubt it drives the amp to full output Clean ?? Bosch relay should be used not accessory splice Or current sensing relay to know when music is on , low voltage on trigger can cause issues too Let me know how ya go
  2. You prob did run your focals at 60 -80 on the amp and then ran them thru the passive crossover !! Which filtered out the bass overriding the amp Electronic crossover at certain freq ranges And creating a 18-24db crossover in the process The natural rolloff is higher then 60hz in most all cases for 6.5 "MID "range 60hz is bass to subbass region not midrange freq Focals arent magic they will die just like any other speaker , dont forget this guy has low range speakers and possibly thin mount coax as well recipe for burned coils Without getting into advanced acoustic / electronic engineering and why you dont xover at 60hz on a 6.5 mid range any brand !! Even 6.5 WOOFERS can struggle at 60hz unless designed for free air application or custom box made for speaker resonance Q The overlap with a 15 " would sound horrible Lots of peaks and valley in response curve With big holes in sound
  3. 80hz is fine on sub Disconnecting what sounds like pawn shop speakers in the rear is right Too dodgy sounding to know how its installed 4 average speakers in front at 60hz in infinite baffle will be the death of them Infinite baffle is the worse control of the cone there is except a way out of tune box Most front speakers cant play down to 60hz without excess cone excursion because of the above reason , good home speakers in a sealed box you could go low but even them 60 is too low unless your crossover is 24db rolloff even then its risky 120hz -200hz would be more like it depending on the rolloff, power applied , specs on speakers etc 120hz -150hz at 6db rolloff is fine for most quality 6.5 in if no bass boost is used on amp or deck and power is clean But like i say 60 hz on 6.5 " is going to be a short life before voicecoil death All of this is assuming active crossover not passive and active mixed together which throws in phase delay and a few other items
  4. Really ? its boring looking without something besides flat panel imo
  5. Before someone follows that advice , its wrong And the original question is horrid verbiage
  6. The actual dashpad was 1 part the insert was embossed into it not a seperate part ? I have a brochure from japan and from the looks of it they came both ways ? the brochure has 7 different 4 dr models and 5 coupe models not including GTR !!! and shows all the options you could get ? Lots people dont even know existed i think The carbon and kevlar i have is in various colours and weaves ( not colour fiberglass but real kevlar ! ) also making pure carbon strut bars no metal And intercooler pipes in carbon factory first to replace the metal ones in front engine bay area , can be made any size from 2"-6" diameter one piece not wound or pieced together Dry carbon, satin, normal or super wet look UV stable
  7. I know of someone who had a GT and the dash wasnt cut out ? But converted to gauges easy I'm making them as a Small hobby And since nobody else did any lol? , mine is widescreen tv and gauges where ashtray and cig lighter was and in roof where sunroof /dome light was So not for my car Doing just about every plastic part off Gtt engine , outside . Inside
  8. My bad sadalaide Doubt tonkins can fix it but if chris says so go see them ? I live in the deep south if you need advice ?
  9. First problem if the screen doesnt come up a dvd wont fi it Where are you located ? Your prob going to need special help interfacing and fixing or swapping the screen ? if the screen comes up and powers up but no display thats another issue Nissan has crap solder joints and aussie roads beat them to submission ( cracking ) If you need a working one , mine is in toolbox complete unit Your factory deck should be able to open the screen even without a dvd , they dispay km , time on trip and lots of other info besides dvd or sat nav? Even a cool 3 d nissan screen saver animation ( takes 2 sec to make one now lol but back in r34 days a lot longer ) take a dash photo if you cant open it to see what were dealing with ? And location ?
  10. Nobody says anything to me , cause I'm much bigger and ex seal team lol Funny cause a lot of drift cars are going to undercar and other lighting again !! Hypocrites Do what you want and f**k being a sheep to slaughter
  11. Does the button on the radio open it ? open - close ? Either way there junk and fail easy , you can wire into it and use another radio to pop it up and use the NTSC format screen on most items , the jacks on the silver box can be used Or ditch the lot like I did and use aftermarket everthing and redo the screen mount to stay up like GTR only widescreen 8" and streamline carbon fiber molded now , i use a multichannel video source amp to run different items remotely to a half dozen screens and cameras , looks way better now and uses exact nissan part mold so its still legal as long as your watching reverse cam or gps not the latest blueray haha
  12. Call or go see brett or sam at phatt audio in braeside , tell em troy sent ya of sau you would be best to avoid all your listed shops IMO if you want it done right Autobarn maybe ( option audio package , clarion , kenwood , pioneer) yes you can run 1 amp to everything but sometimes its a compromise on power and can cost a fair bit more , dont forget speaker box and wiring add up fast too another option move your front speakers to the back and buy some better ones for front and fade the backs way out Depends on what you want in the long run a kick ass sound quality or loud as hell , or just something decent and be done with it Show system ? your music tastes Brand loyaltity ? You dont want to jump at a 5 channel amp and upgrade later its going to be a waste in most cases of amp channel or you'll want to sell the amp, your better off with two amps or even 1 stereo amp running mixed mono , runs the 4 or 2 speakers and sub with passive x overs Something like a 75w x2 to fronts and 300w sub most new installers I know dont even know how to do it that way lol they got lazy shoot me a pm if you need more help Cheers Troy
  13. Nope , mine is 9/2000 and the module isnt in the door its in kickpanel , window switches dont interchange either they dont even look the same from behind But anyway sounds like you have it undercontrol But your right both ways work on older models Add acutator or your way Dont foget mine has factory alarm , I got a hold of the factory sales brochure for mine and it had options i dont think many people outside of japan have seen on R34's My other sales brochure is or 98 models and they had some undocumented options as well R35 jdm has a mountain of options we cant get either I have a new connection for documentation in japan lol
  14. Watch out series 2 r34 from late 8/2000 on use SMD Curcuits and not everything works the same Surface mount devices = way harder to solder on to without advance skills and static electricy sensitive , overheating and cold joints break easy Another option single actuator in drivers door , 2 wires and your done locks all doors and unlocks all doors
  15. Yes it would work, GT non turbo r34 dont have the cutout on the dash from what I recall Its not a big deal since the triple cluster shape is already there embossed in the dash, most gauges would hook up with a bit of fiddling or come with senders So drill a small hole and cut the dash center out , its marked off for you or buy a Gtt dash , plenty around cheap just a bit of labour to get it out I'm making a mold for carbon clusters ( most of the plastics in the car !! ) in a few weeks and can leave the holes uncut for any standard size to fit , pure carbon not covered plastic
  16. The stuff I'm talking about is nothing like security mesh , its a sheet size much larger then stupid cheap sells length and width and thickness the stuff can be logo waterjetted as well for a price? I havent called a fabricator with laser or water jet in oz to see what cost they come up with yet Found some titanium as well but that scared me cost wise its stupid amount for mesh
  17. You can get some cool waterjet cut stainless or alloy and powerdercoated mesh from usa , two custom sheets i just priced shipped is around 150 and its not the thin crap or cut up its full size sent priority mail two places in the states have at least 20 patterns and ? About how many colours , some is ghetto SUV , 300c stuff but the stuff I found is like nothing else around
  18. The waterclear polymer epoxy resin is stronger then glass , I use it for carbon, kevlar parts It isnt availble in austtalia and its not casting resin Which turns yellow in uv or spiderwebs in Uv you can smash this with a ball peen hammer and it wont shatter , can video to prove it !! its made by aerospace composites company Oh and its high temp stable , into the 300c range plus
  19. If i had a lens to make a mold , i have access now to water clear no bubbles or disortion epoxy polymer from USA it comes out perfect and UV stable , cost wise they would be around 15 bucks or less to make depending on volume
  20. sorry for slow updateWell after a mountain of phone calls etc Even overseas I went to the manufacture in victoria for 10mm thick 1.7 metres wide black carpet , you can get it up to 16mm thick but only a metre wide and piece it together ? Cost is about 180 with shipping (25 to ship) But in my phone calls a place called allcarcarpets in vic said if they had the original molded carpets in just about any condition they could make the GTT or GTR mold for the R34 in a month and they had 6 mm black sample they sent me looked nice ? The other option was wool wilton carpet from UK /US but didnt bother cause it would be a mint and shipping a killer , same stuff rolls royce uses !!
  21. Clark rubber may have something ?
  22. Thank you for listening , come again Off topic (Been on the net before it was called " the net " or before it was pc based ) and remember punch card mainframes at college lol But the lack of respect and keyboard warriors flaming is from the past 10 years more so the last 5 Taking the piss is not the same as disrespect Anyway its cool
  23. Measure the opening and troll a wreckers lots of car had some just find the size Prob cost a buck then use as a mold for alloy or carbon or ? Keep in mind some coilovers and shocks have adjustments that stick up Another option make a exact mold and make some out of casting resin
  24. Oh its my turn to shite shir haha Been a while Your ghey turbo timer is a adr defect ( but I'm sure you dont care!) but it must time how long you wank off ...so the 30 seconds is enough to cool off ? or set for 1 min so the oil has time to cool off and not stick to your palms But its good to know your master mind fixed it " gold star to you " In the future ask questions with some respect to the ones trying to help you ffs or expect a ban stick off SAU A lot of people on SAU have skills well beyond what you could even imagine and help people in need if asked polite !! instead they could say FU pay someone to fix it !! So chill out Even if you dont agree show some respect for your fellow sau members End rant , waits for bitchfest so the ban stick can come out The question is a nissan is a soft target ( crime in japan isnt rampant like here) multi layered approach to security and even a 10 buck club will slow them down and stop joy riders Gps tracker is a must on any decent cars and even that isnt a magic fix Common sense is one major prevention of theft
