  1. CA model glue and a dremel your all set..haha sorry thats the redneck solution you can setup a alam that is completely keyless, entry and starting but most installers wouldnt have a clue how to do that , only the best ones know how and it will cost a bucket load to do , or even with your iphone, andriod in your pocket now your kinda vague, if you mean the key with the lock unlock buttons ? or a true alarm system ? sounds to me like a rubbish model that would be best replaced anyway and just use a normal key those factory keyed/less system you talk of, cost a butt load to fix when the key fails, in a year or a day . hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on the car model. bentley comes to mind right off the bat, with a bad key issue. hmmmm in sydney I would say chris rogers might know if someone with such skills , I know some shops but cant vouch for the skill set first hand. sorry
  2. yeah a fuse removed wont stop anyone except a kid on a quick hit . a real crim will be prepared for that trick. ... and dont forget a real crim will get your car without a doubt no way to stop it beyond a steel bollard cage on all sides and roof. the key is make it "All too hard to be fussed with" cause it takes to long to get it. or not put it in harms way to start with. a flat bed and some wheel dollys and your screwed , then its up to GPS and even more alarm fuctions to stop or find the car asap maybe just a self destruct remote instead...haha then you get the last laugh
  3. Watch this video completely photochop lovers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeZyiOW9-uU
  4. I saw it on a SA promo brochure once. and laughed till I wee'd
  5. what area was the latest attempt in ? I dont have to preach but multiple layers of security and common sense is the only hope of stopping or slowing them down, club lock, alarm, common sense and GPS tracker if you can afford it.. never park on the street or visible outside if you can help it. dont leave steal me items in the car on the seat... Handbags..ladys!!!, , GPS, phones, CD's, loose change, shopping bags, NOTHING !!!! not even coats dont pound bass close to your parking locarion (like the pied piper for crims when you park they steal your car radio) lock your car when paying for fuel or in servo. and ladys dont leave your purse on the seat unlocked ,,, I see that all the time at servo when paying for petrol,, Insurance !!! surely someone has a non running car that we could setup a camera sting to catch some of these ass clowns, oh but wait the laws wont put them away for a long time anyway so why bother obvious it gets a lot worse when kids are out on break,, go get a job and earn your own money and stop stealing our shite and vandalizing everthing else
  6. stock as a rock black R33 GTR in dinga white R32 , weird front bar and random rims near Morphett vale silver stag on esply with white writing on the rear window on angle the normal spot for r33 GTR in darlington biz. special thanks to some toffy lady in a fancy bronze Merc nearly tearing the front off my car in traffic on south rd , while on the phone from the looks of it no less. jumped thru 3 lanes of traffic then slammed on her brakes when I flashed my lights to warn her I was there and thank her driving like a muppet. mind you at that point I had less then a metre from her when she hit her brakes(god I hate people who fill the gap you leave between cars for safety) , so switched lanes only for her to speed up and open her way too dark tint window , wave to me and give me the finger. ....WTF who was in the wrong ???? which was prompted returned finger , a few min later she ended up slamming thru 3 lanes of traffic again , nearly causes a truck , bus and a buttt load of cars to slam on the brakes to avoid her. . and tailgated a car less then a metre away at 80k in heavy traffic. ... I wish I got her rego to report her... so sick of crap adelaide drivers, POT HOLES or piss poor road repairs, Big rig TRUCK DRIVERS IN THE FAST LANE or tailgating at 100k and Traffic in this "well designed small town" GRRRRRRRR sorry but that lady shite me off ..... after daily agro truck drivers on south rd tailgating me at 100k with a full load near dinga RTA needs to setup scales some of those trucks are way overweight spilling rocks and on the phone, its only a matter of time before they kill someone on south rd. they drive like A holes end rant
  7. oh yes the GTT has the ABS sensor under that area as well, the seat pretensioner feedback too
  8. I had the same issues with mine, A pillar boost gauge , coilover shocks, dump pipe from dealer , who knew it was defects but didnt care. just wanted the cash. they put all stock gear on it then swapped it over afterwards mine went thru regency without a buckle on the seatbelt and they didnt catch it. .. safety inspection my ass. I caught it the day I bought it. test drive , no way to secure the belt.the part wasnt there at all.
  9. yeah I hear that front about stupidity , on top of a few insurance jobs I bet to get out of the upside down loans from the GFC ? ...... I was just wondering if the import industry should look at that since the cost of the cars is coming down so much but demand is high for theft ,( I know nanny state thinking yet another law idea..lol ) maybe even a pamphet pointing out the fact after sale,,, bit scary to hand to them before sale it would scare them off.(the place I got my car imported did hand me a pamplet for alarms but they had so much markup as a middle man it was insane. I just laughed at them in disgust.) I guess the real issue is the punishment doesnt fit the crime , a slap in the hand and on your way for the next round of thefts over and over, complete disrespect for the legal system and other peoples property in general around the country .shites me off in a big way and common sense is a bit weak , you want to show it off but its not the wise move to fang it around, bass pounding, windows /side panels filled with "steal me stickers" ... then park it .... like the pied piper to theft ..lol you leave it someplace you wouldnt leave your skateboard at night and expect it to be there the next day !!! is there anyway to find out the theft rates per car in each state ? public knowledge anyone ?? how about how many skylines have come into the country since the sceme began ? bet we have more then japan does now ? its horrible to think the cars are being stolen and used for crash repairs on drift cars etc. at some point the skylines will become rare , reminds me of the old US cars that got run in smash up derbys in 70-90's and now you cant find parts for them as a classic car , now with china, malaysia , USA etc running nissan JDM drift cars the parts will go to the bin even faster would make a interesting survery for sure. it doesnt seem like any car is sacred they steal everything here but SR/RB power draws them like ants to sugar end rant, just a topic for your magazine column maybe
  10. not 100% positive but isnt there a G meter in the Hicas box and possibly in the attessa as well ? moving them would cause issues if so ? same as a roll over sensor on most cars that shuts the engine off if it senses a rollover ? I got caught out on a 5.0 mustang once by moving a sensor in the hatch area , looked like a simple relay and it was a rollover sensor , car wouldn't start once moved and facing the wrong way
  11. there's a lot of little ones, and some big ones, so I can cover the big ones without highlighting a diagram, but the frame rail below the battery /fuel filter area is one big one thats the main one. normally corroded bad , then it branches off , you will see the 4ga wire heading back from there to the engine block . grounds under the fuse block . grounds on headlights below the cases . you need a ground for all power items to make them work, ? if you can be more specific I'm sure we could help you faster on your issues ? grounds on each kickpanel area back of the car behind the rear seat back is a star ground for most of the items in the rear of the car.
  12. white R32 on the dinga esply just now. didnt get a good look to see if it was the stolen one or not
  13. white R32 on the dinga esply just now. didnt get a good look to see if it was the stolen one or not
  14. the most backyard bogan car audio speaker install ever , in the biggest shite box car too
  15. check out the topgear video link it wont embed here. http://www.rallyfighter.com/ be fun on the beach or outback
  16. I just had mine retinted last week, they checked the tint that existed from japan and it was 17% from the B pillar back and cleared regency with that on .....the australian aftermarket front windows came up 29% from a local tinter a few years ago(it was supposed to be 35% ?). using the same laser tester as police use. dont forget the UV built into the clear glass can throw off the laser enough to be non compliant regency compliance thought my car had privacy glass in back but it was just tint. scratched nicely from the compliancer installing baby bolts. thru the speaker grills, muppets !!! the new tint came up 34% from Tint a Car using max legal darkness tint , the clear glass had a few % in it on the front and a little bit more on the backs. I want 5% on all grrrrrrrr its ghey so hot here but in arizonia its legal for that reason alone. police safety my ass. you dont have guns here like states How in the hell is anyone supposed to weed thru all these rules for a simple mod . might as well study law ...then they get you to spend more money to engineer it. its a sham , a fleecing of money and in the long run adelaide has its own rules, or SUSS defect , a catch all for more money... reminds me of the dude on today tonight with the corvette and blue stripes. or the land barge that wanted disk brakes but couldnt update , or seatbelts on old cars,,, all ghey rules
  17. if you pop the vents out you will see the controls are held in by a few plastic prong clips that pry up and then come apart. use care and they wont break off.
  18. your welcome, you will also notice the tranny temp is lower now , and power loss to the drivetrain is less = more power at the wheels , ever bit less friction helps the same holds true for the engine oils etc. you can feel the difference instantly after changing to it . (it is the only oil certified for use on F18 engines that spin extremely fast. faster then a turbo )
  19. Before I rant I hate to hear of anyones misforture and hope you get it back in one peice .....all scum needs to be sent to a perm antarctiic vacation in budgie smugglers lol) So I'll be the first to dig, no disrespect just a survey was it insured? alarmed ? club lock ? parked in a secure location or just on a dark street ? (do not drive said cars to dark streets and go night clubbing and expect any nice car to not be fondled or stolen .... common sense!! ) its like leaving your most prized possesion/expensive behind a pane of glass in the hood and praying people only want to look at it .. a few might but the tempation is just too great , Iron chef to me "ALL FRESH IMPORTS" should be sold with a 3 point ADR alarm no exceptions from the importer dealer not just you but all dealers around the country !!! , you only get a choice of what brand alarm you want and features , the minor amount it would add to a car on purchase would save the rest of us money and the owner of the new prize , heartbreak of waiting for the import only to have it nicked and torched by some crack heads etc. thought that was a requirement on new cars already in OZ but I might be wrong ? could you bring that up in your magazine article ? it might be something worth elaborating on ? in USA a car wasnt allowed off the lot on delivery without full comprehensive insurance ....when I worked at Mazda I dont know how many cars I saw totaled the same day as purchase... a lot !!! we used to call it the paperplate syndrome, you seemed to be a moving target until you got metal rego plates from the state. which took up to 90 days back in the day anyway hope you get it back and its still a virgin
  20. There is a story behind that product that I cant disclose in public sorry , and CANADA POST is horrible cost and not dependable . if you notice the cost even without the shipping is the same as Dynamat off a US site not that its the best product but to compare prices , notice the sizes as well you need a bit to do it right even just the doors that product is only sold from Canada no other dealers exist , I just had 3 large boxes of sound deadner product sent to me before christmas and the shipping from USA was the same as the item cost in USD retail almost , the weight was about 38lbs for one box alone and the two other rolls are as more then a metre wide and light as a feather so you might want to check local first. plus it keeps oz jobs and shops in biz dont use roofing tar ,it makes a mess and stinks in the heat ever time the car warms up , cars in oz can hit 80c + with ease on the inside on a warm day here is some light reading on the subject if your bored http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi
  21. car shorts(not likely unless you have hacks in wires)? , bad battery, dead shorting inside the case (shite can that water battery there junk and part of the problem ) ? , too many RPM can kill them ? buy a underdrive pulley to slow it down run a 4ga ground wire from the alternator bracket to the neg battery to improve voltage charging and spark voltage , upgrade the alterantor charge wire to 4GA and clean the voltage regulator plug connection with proper contact cleaner, check the connection of the factory battery grounds do you rinse your engine off with water ? degreaser ? a huge blast of either can be fatal inside the alterantor. dont spill oil inside it ? dont use the crappy little jap batteries that come in GTT , and upgrade the connectors to australian sizes , car audio ones are best to use if you run a big stereo then you have some other items to review.
  22. Yep its a mess , dont screw it down either , just use automotive spray glue, like a 3M type for carpet or cloth. MED strength not headliner stuff. if you spray the rubber matt cloth side only, it wont stick much, if the rear deck is clean and dust free that should be enough to hold it , till you mount the deck back on over it.. you can spray the car metal deck and cloth/rubber but that will cause the cement to hold it really tight and you might get glue on your windows ,tint, cloth if your not careful. the 3M type glue will still smell but not for long, use only outside or vented area and dont sit in the car and get high off it you can get sticky lungs from it, use a dust mask with charcoal , found at auto paint shops etc if you dont desire a headache from the fumes, for clean up use wax and grease remover on rear deck and if you get some glue on the stuff you dont want it on, but it will kill tint so becareful , rags of it can spontanious combust in the heat as well so place in steel fireproof can or wash right away wax and grease is safe on most coloured plastic parts and even cloth seats etc if wiped with water afterwards, it strips all the protector off the plastic so it needs to be retreated when your done with a plastic protector like mothers or meguars to get rid of the white dry look . test before use if in doubt . this method is removable with some work, spray one side and its removable easy you can find other products besides dynamat that are cheaper and just as good or better in some cases stinger road kill, soundstream, second skin, and a million others... check with chris rogers on here I think he sells some? if not I hate to say this but you can buy some overseas and ship it cheapers sometimes if the dollar is higher then the US dollar. check and buy local Oz if you can ,.... it takes about 10 days to get some from USA in most cases if you cant' find any cheap enough. if you buy from USA , pm me the sellers name before you buy , some of the US sellers are dodgy as hell and payment methods are fraud ridden
  23. I have a peice, DO NOT USE IT ON SIDE PANELS WITH GLUE. the only thing its good for is floors NOT GLUED down unless you want it to be perm. I use mine under my spare to protect the other aftermarket spray/ brush on sound deadner finish from the steel rim the stuff is way to heavy to do a car with, and the results are poor compared to a proper name brand deadener. if you glue it properly its going to be a nightmare to remove for service of windows etc ? and contact cement smells horrid for a long time in the heat, this rubber holds heat in , and doesnt stop it like the foil backed products. my first choice return it or use it under spare, or for a shop table nonslip mat. and dont use jaycar tar based imitations without knowing they tend to fall off vertical surfaces in the heat above 35C outside to answer your question, cloth side is glue side, and contact cement is the only thing that could hold it , car will stink for a week at least and be nearly undriveable from fumes
  24. NEO R34 s2 has different internals in block and head, GTR Rods, Solid Lifters and a few other small items ....higher factory power 206kw and higher torque then S1 waterpumps as well....... external to the block lots of little things R33 RB25DET , nfi
  25. Redline doesnt recommend shockproof in the stock 5 spd Skyline boxes , it can cause problems with the brass synchros , "Redline Australia techs words when I called them for sponsorship/group buy discounts" drag 5spd or ham fisted shifts it might protect the gears but not for street use I run it in rear axle Nismo LSD , the temp is way lower and lockup is much much better, way better then the Nismo gear oil it had before, just odd when you have Blue smurfs blood in 140W that pours out of the bottle like coke not like the normal gear oil of old days. if you want to see some interesting things, put normal engine oil in a cup and deep freeze it, synthetic in another , leave for a day , then try to pour it out, normal oil will be frozen nearly solid the synthetic will pour near normal. even 0W normal oil will freeze and need a spoon to get out, (never use 0w in australia unless your running in the snow fields all the time)
