  1. factory purple GTR 34 on the dinga esply just now, wow I love that colour on Skylines wicked GT3 right after that , who said carbon porn doesnt look nice on pearl white ..lol candy apple red 67ish camaro before r34, spotless car old skool tough sound black M6 bmw a few min later. nice ride
  2. yeah if the oil doesnt solve it mate and the clutch is installed right , then a good box builder is rare find. MV automatics are well known for autoboxes ... but nfi who can do 5 spds worth a shite . it takes a lot of special tools to rebuild boxes in most cases Redline has been the only oil that seems to fix up 5 spds with borderline issues, I've tried all of them over a lot of years . amsoil would be my next choice but its super hard to find and expensive as hell. watch out too redline comes in US amounts quarts ,gallons not litres so get enough for your box. about 100 bucks or so is normal cost and lasts for a long long time. if It wasnt such a pain to catch and refill I would let you have mine to test it in your box before buying it. its only 6 months old , maybe 3k on it .... but being dumped in two weeks to fit a new NPC clutch/flywheel, nismo short shift and tranny seals and refilled with new MTL ??? bring a bucket to the shop ..lol and simon ash is running my car up on the dyno and the nistune afterwards , should be interesting
  3. dump the oil and put in Redline MTL or 80-90 wt oil,(NOT SHOCKPROOF!!!) that solves most cases without tearing the box apart. 4gear failure ??? normally its 2nd from ham fisted shifting other synthetic oil wont do the same job to help the tranny .... believe me. shockproof is too slippery for synchros to mesh properly dont use it on a 5 spd skyline did you change the spigot bearing ???? if not that can cause the same problems when it goes
  4. amonia in windex kills tint, turns it purple and peals it off. use glass cleaner designed for tint or just clean water
  5. amonia in windex kills tint, turns it purple and peals it off. use glass cleaner designed for tint or just clean water
  6. nu finish is not recommended , in USA it was ranked lower then turtle wax in my book. its been out for a long time ...dont send me a sample I used a few bottles in USA and it fails even on a daily driver paddock basher shine cant be beat, ???I bet I can for a 20 dollar bottle of product and it wont show swirls either
  7. call or go see brett or sam at Phatt Audio Concepts in braeside. they'll do a nice custom box. , they did the R34 that "just cars" gave away those are generic your looking at and consume more space then you need to in the boot. to fit in subs.
  8. pm sent please note this antenna is available in DAB audio and DVB-T tv and now there are a few other options but most wouldnt look to hot on a skyline some of these antennas are 5volt some 12 volt so beware, and most need SMA or FMA conections depending on the radio used. which means order the right one or hack off the plug and put on the right one from jaycar they have diversity antennas 2-4 stick on glass antennas but you need a bigger car for that and you must have a diversity box split out for it . amplified one you can put some in front and rear bumpers or inside plastic or fiberglass spoilers but you loose a good ground plane for the signal so dont expect miracles. or even mount them inside the car in the rear deck or under the dash cap works on some antennas DVB-T (digital TV )is much harder to get on the move and even at home can be flaky on new digital antennas so understand that in advance its not perfect and in 99% of the time you still need a regular antenna for AM/FM as well which I dont use nissans crappy antennas for either. but another amplified one not on the outside of the car and they require at 19mm or bigger hole in the roof on the outside layer, inside they need nearly a 30mm hole so you can get a socket into the nut to tighten it inside a double layer roof skin.on cars like the R34
  9. well if the tube is out of warranty, next step is carefully remove the speaker and unplug it. leave the rca and amp wires on tube with no sub speaker on the amp see if it goes into protection? take not or photos of how its plugged in if required to reinstall ? and make sure the wires dont touch you just removed !! yes.. then I would say you most likely fried the amp section. if you have access to a 12volt battery not in the car and some jumper wires you can try no car and just wire the tube right to the battery to see if it goes into protection right off the bat no ,.... the sub is fried, see if the sub moves in and out smoothly with you fingers, any grating /grinding feel or sticking ? smell it does it smell burnt by the magnet ? ohm tester ? if so throw it on the sub at rest it should be around 4 ohms give or take, not sure what ohm load that runs but prob 4 ohms if the tube is out of warranty you can rebuild it and reuse it. , see what you find and I can explain the rebuild if needed. near 40 on sunday coming up so amps will be damn hot in a boot , even turned off they will
  10. are you sure its not used ? it shouldnt make wierd noises , low bass yes, and no super loud while breaking it in. without a sound or video of it its hard to say from here ? could even be a amp problem
  11. it was 37 today, outside, in your boot blasting it was at least 50c most amps of that quality shut down in protection mode around 50-70c , you can see and hear the problem is distortion, the clip light comes on the controller even before you leave the car, turn the bass boost to 0 on the radio and the sub tube, and lower the volume ... on the radio and the amp gain it looks maxed out, it shouldnt be the sub sounds close to frying or dead as well, if you watch it pump in all of the sudden , the voice coils would be super heated. turn down all bass boost to 0 let the thing cool to the touch, tighten all connections test again at low volume, works or not ? works then you most likley had heat or loose connection issues doesnt work still, unplug the rca cables while radio is off, power it up go to boot and check the amp lights, is it in protection mode still ? yes, fried the sub , amp, or wiring issues no issues, then turn off radio again, replug RCA, turn on radio, does it come back ? yes then you have bad rca , grounded under seat or other pinch point, it can be a pinched wire on the remote bass knob, some feedback to amp if grounded out. I''m sure its overheated without even looking at it. and your volume control settings might be the frog eating the harness ? looks a bit shonky install so I can only imagine the rest.
  12. it sounds like its not screwed down well or leaking air around it. when the volume is turned up you cant hear it over the sub bass. or you have a cable inside the box hitting the speaker cone maybe? or bad box, broken inside somewhere, do you have a good seal, when you gentle push down the cone from the middle does it push slowly and firm ? or does it feel the same as wehn the sub was out of the box? you might have a leak, speaker cups leak all the time if you have some installed. your sure its the speaker not something near it vibrating ? G/F vibrator fell in boot haha
  13. nice tread pattern but too skinny , 265 or more
  14. haha memories, mine was the same model year body style, you need the USA version panel to black out the center between your tailights and put the rego under the bumper looks way better that way, lower and complete......mine was painted that white from a newer model, the limited production model year in 90's, near 100% pure white, it turned bluish purple at night since it picked up the colour spectrum of the light . even whiter then the R34 is in polar white. porche whale tale ,the huge factory glass sunroof, full body kit tube frame from firewall forward, rollcage, 11,000rpm plus . racing beat in california, millen and another place in Signal hill cali makes some killer stuff for RX models.. have you ever been brave enough to run it open header and rev it up ? warning your ears will bleed, and flames will be huge. I'm not kidding the noise will bring tears of pain to you. the freq. is really brutal on your hearing. and will bring the police within a second it sooooo loud. even while racing in usa they require mufflers on all rotor engines or you get black flagged... they sound like a mad, crotch rocket /bee or they have a big cam lobe ..lol nothing could touch that car once moving, it flew even with a mere 300hp. they would loose cause the redliine was sooo high I just kept going while they changed gears 3 times..haha blew the motor racing a 427 AC cobra for top speed.... lost a rotor but it still ran for months on one rotor before it siezed , 500,00miles on the factory rear end, tranny, and first engine before it died , and it was raced ever weekend in the summer, and driven for 11 years in snow, and sun, think I held the record pulled over 17 times , no tickets in it.but police hated that car .. shame they cost so much in oz I loved it and would love a toy again. ok I know its not audio..
  15. your options, a stick on the glass grid type, not real good and wont pick up while moving a stick style, amplified, wont worl well for digital tv -radio a suction cup or magnet style short stick antenna, like they use on PC's, some work while parked, mounted inside the car and close to the city towers.exteral magnet works a tiny bit better if mounted on the roof but looks shite and not a perm mount. and they make a flat panel one, havent test it but it looks like hell for a car, RV it would be ok my solution is a amplified DAB -TV shark fin, you can get Digital tv and radio in motion if your not in the bush, I dont watch tv while moving its not legal...the same antenna is used on high end euro cars for DAB as a factory option. the top merc's, audi's, VW's and a few italian exotics use the same one. the plugs come for each model car and plug right in , not nissan of course, solder required and new solder on plugs to fit your radio/tv tuner, antenna cost retail is 200 australian dollars and requires a hole in the roof. not for the DIY person, the roof is two layers with a 10mm gap in the R34 , there is a trick to getting the drill bits thru the roof without buckling it or nuking the paint ,, something you measure ten times before drilliing, headliner has to be removed 100% on R34. this is the antenna before being screwed tight to the roof, sorry low quality camera and low light when I took the photo. it actually looks factory , and is less then the size of my pinky finger long. much smaller then other radio antennas, you still have to supply analog antenna as well, on some radios
  16. who do you think bought her the booze and smokes mum shared her centrelink this time..lol plus that way if the little girl cant finish it and passes out first ....mum and the abusive b/f will finish it while they get the dog, lizard, goldfish, mice, cats and kids next door high she has to chase the cask wine with draught...lol they learn young these days... two fisted drinker next yet another fantastic use of a Hills Hoist it has to be one of the most amazing multipurpose inventions in history...lol , look close there is another cask skin on the other side and a guy in the background smiling away... How proud he must be !!! the other kids in lizbeth would be jelous !!!! they still have to drag grog in a pram while the 2 yr old walks on the road barefooted with crusty nappies two day old models, shouldnt have spent so much for smokes and grog I guess
  17. yes I havent seen it done but Brad in SA can do some cars jap to english conversion My car had it but I dumped the whole lot and did aftermarket stuff, and made the TV pod look and stay up like a GTR. only in carbon fiber now. has a 8" hi res TV now with 4 channels of input and video amp. the pod actually sits lower then the factory pop up and uses the lid and frame as a surround . the factory one is junk, most die from bad solder joints. another option is use it for the input , the metal box behind the carpet in the boot on the passenger side rear seat area has inputs for audio/video. the other box leave alone or your car will malfunction. and the one on the other side as well. welcome to the forums, always welcome to see a lady on SAU and into cars
  18. booze in oz cost to farking much, pretty bad when you can buy imported just as cheap as local grog. JACK =YACK, its like liquid stupid .. I know better then to drink it but after a case of beer a jack and coke goes down easy... comes up after the 4th one..hahah... lets just say I know a cat box has another use besides cat poo.... and not go any further I think you can get the hint..lol speaking of that I still have the photos of kadina a few years back floating around ,,, that was a good time , but think luke slept the whole next day in the back of his car.lol
  19. I'm in for sure
  20. you might burn thru the paint either way you need to clean that thing spotless before use. I wouldnt use it myself too risky. a paint job cost too much to stuff around with a cheap sander to save coin. the short handle will be harder to hold on a car without damage to it

  22. that sounds wierd, what kinda box is it in ? sealed, ported ? size ? when you say blown describe the noise a bit better or record it on your phone or ? like a dragging voice coil sound ? or ripped surround loose sound ? last time I blew a sub it caught the cone on fire and filled the car with smoke for second. at 146db mmmm my old RX was a 12a bridgeport from racing beat in LA. cali home of the worlds fastest stock body car on salt flats in 86 and yes it attracted police a tad..full kit, roll cage, tube frame,,, but thats for another forum,,lol
  23. as a kid in highschool we used to party in a old SAC minute man silo, the top was open but the bottom was flooded with deep nasty water and dark as hell. the police came after it got out of hand and after that they sealed it off with a concrete lid and rebar .. guess its hard to hide 100 cars in a empty paddock in the middle of know where on a friday night..haha they would make a sweet house , damn thing is huge in the middle and a long way down . these days it wouldnt be far from town with the expansion of the city now. in the midwest usa grain belt the're still is a bunch of old sites , I'm sure you could get one cheap as hell.
