  1. what is the max current of the 2 amps ? or fuses fitted to them total ? 0 ga might be overkill and costly red tops are a starting battery, dont hold up to major abuse of massive car audio . I would go yellow top if your pulling a lot of power or even another brand for bigger systems , or Batt Cap out back as well as battery?
  2. 4dr porn how long do you think those mirror/cameras would last in this town..lol
  3. warning border line work safe, let me know if you want her details ..lol
  4. take out the drivers seat as well, and run under the grooves in the floor to stop carpet and wire pinch wear on the wires . gaffer duct tape it to the floor pan on any spots that could be in the way, or near seat bolts , seat belts the wire can then pass under the rear seat frame rail and follow the groove into the boot, try not to run it near factory wires if you do try to cross them at 90degree angles or you can induce noise. RCA cables go down the middle or other side away from main ECU or the impact /ABS computers under the console arm rest the yellow wires arm the airbag so becareful, pretension sensor wires under front seats area as well and reels on seat belts in front do not run the wires near the gas pedal, you can get them right down in the corner to avoid catching it. do not run it past the fuse box face/wires. or noise will be introduced dont run the cable across the drivers floor or your carpet lump will wear thru .and drive you mad fuse at the battery, as close as possible "TO PROTECT THE CAR NOT THE AMP" a dead short will burn your car down. the wire can be run thru the black loop holding your throttle cable under the bonnet then thru the fender on the corner by the brake master that will help keep it out of the way a bit, dont zip tie it to the heater valve below the fuel filter either it needs to move or you wont get heat or cool. secure the wires with zip ties and solder and heat shrink the wires run the amp grounds as close as possible to the amp, just behind the rear seat is a large bolt that works well. dont secure grounds to seat belt bolts, or the little 10 mm bolts on steel block off plates, theyre not good grounds. and dont drill into the fuel tank or lines under the seat/boot floor rise and fish tape/stiff coat hanger and some silicone spray can help the wire thru the factory grommet hope that helps
  5. +1 chris Optima yellow top if the car has a big sound system and you dont sit in the park for hours pounding car must be driven for a while to recharge or it will fail Red top if the system is just a couple hundred watt amp/sub , good for daily drivers those Braile bateries are nothing more then a deep cycle emergency light battery with carbon case. not recommended unless you run a pure race car and charge it up on the proper charger for bigger sound systems you need another approach again. Odessy is another one. XS is another AGM , most are re-branded versions of the Odessy and change the connections from the lame jap little ones if you still have those. and update the power/ground as well. and run a ground from the alternator bracket bolt to the chassis and or battery on front mounted battery cars rear mounted has to be sealed , spill proof (ADR defect if you run unvented normal style battery in boot, and not safe at all ).... just buy a optima or AGM mat battery and you will be done for many years, save the hassle and do it right the first time.
  6. Nope not a fan, , but some of the art is fantastic .. to each his own I guess ?
  7. take it to a pro, did you buy that alarm off e-blow, I saw one from Fusion for sale ? really you could have fried everything from a wire to a curcuit board and if your 33 has a airbag your lucky it didnt hit you in the face from point blank. ALARMS are best left to a pro for best results..... to many things can go wrong with DIY .even with instructions and wiring guides you have to know what your doing and how to hide it did you loose anything else , radio, cig light, dome light etc? are you sure you checked everything ??? are you getting any clicking on the relay for the factory locks ? might be time for aftermarket lock actuators ???
  8. guess you'll have to buy the new sizes out, 7" speakers... yes Im not kidding
  9. got one myself
  10. my first house 10 years ago was behind the ICA , they used to torch cars, steal council cars. mad skids, vandals, and mayhem , needles in the park plaground. and graffitti on everything. but my street was silent and never any issues. like it had a force field around it..lol it wasnt even on the street map book but 100ft away was craziness.lol go figure.. its cleaner then it used to be just a tad overall its a dump and not safe after dark to wander around question for racers do you need vin numbers and engine numbers on a car to race it ? just wondering if Skylines are being stolen and rebirthed as race cars and parts sold off. a huge amount of cheap (dodgy seller)line parts are appearing on ebay lately in adelaide ? on good info police caught a "alledged " skyline/car thief down south a week ago with a few cars stripped in his yard , 1 down lots more to go
  11. anyone missing a White R34 today , second hand info says there is a R34 stripped in the parking lot near the Indoor cricket place in Morphett vale. car is on blocks and stripped .. they thought it was mine at first glance
  12. they work fine , maps will be out of date so ask them for some unlocked and updated screen motorization is noisy but not used much if you use mp3's anyway graphics for icons are a bit lame and not sharp. trim rings fit 50% of the time..lol and the freq seems to be cut off on highs , less then 20khz not tested but my ears picked it up
  13. lol I wish adelaide is boring. nanny state but I have a killer view that wouldnt be a option in the east without some serious funds I could just fly around consulting on audio ..lol and teach the young guns the old tricks
  14. yes follow the instructions and you be right but note GTT and R34 in general have horrible radio reception, tint affects it- some are ceramic, or metallized landscape does, hills. mtns, builidngs mutipath in citys does, reflection off metal objects causes mutiple paths of signal to hit the receiver causing drop outs nissans horrble idea of diversity antennnas in the glass , not a good ground plane most of the time the hack who installs the jap to oz signal box cuts the wires and tapes them up. not buying the right jack to interface it. thats the first place to check radio reception issues on JDM cars- NISSAN for sure and if your still having issues check behind the c pillar sail panels in the rear , sometime the antenna wires into the rear glass are unplugged ? or cut and now with DAB broadcasts you need a better antenna then factory . I use a amplified shark fin(smaller then you pinky finger long). tiny one for DAB tv and radio, works a treat and not horrble looking like some fins hope that helps before you rip your hair out
  15. so many companies offer tiny high power amps why would you bother, a deck cant let the hot air out to push lots of power. even with tiny fans they get hot enough to "brand" you on the heat sink apline tried the little box amp twice now both times it fails , cost is just to high when you can dump a tiny amp in a panel the side panels in the rear seat have more then enough room for a small sub and amp on the other side and never even see it, plenty of room to breathe since the air goes to the boot unless you sealed it off. and theives would never get them out without a lot of unbolting think outside the box people, a generic box and 50 dollar sub, with a 50 buck amp just isnt going to cut it if you want space, and good sound. its cheap but your ears will tire of it buy a Ipad or similar to use as a deck and use the space behind it for a few tiny amps ? problem solved
  16. anthonys lime green r32 in dinga then white stag heading towards south rd a sec later
  17. dave is right on the money I can get it fairly cheap but not cheap enough to be worth it , but the shipping is a killer. more then the product cost and some , and depending on the dollar rates you dont save enough to cover shipping plus your going to be suprised how much it takes to coat wheels . and the amount of prep to keep it on the metal is shocking. I'd give it a miss or order some wheels that colour , its a trendy colour in north america right now and wheels are cheap as hell already done ? they used to use different colours on smash up derby cars for years to jazz them up..lol dont need to attract the fuzz even more then we do already do it wrong and it could look like a mexican clown car , its not my speed anyway but to each his own
  18. tonnes of gxe , silo, and TI s3 r31 for 500-1000 bucks in vic country area. in good nick too just out of rego- RWC ebay is full of them rb20det one too but he wants a bit much for it I tried to buy a nice one in dinga the other day but someone was test driving it while the guy was on the phone to me, kid bought it. grrrrrrrrrr
  19. it was designed for dipping tool handles into to make them safe around electricity I would give it a miss, your cost to do wheels will be a killer and its not as durable as you think. you can find small amounts at tool stores but you need a bunch for wheels. call steve at lonsdale paint supplies, he might have it or know where to find it local. its been a long time since I got some and the small can was 10 bucks 10 years ago your prep work on wheels is huge too. buy some matte clear from DNA paints and spray them to make them flat and cleanable still. steve sells DNA paint
  20. motion controlled gattling cannon off a apache helicopter nose. go chuck norris on them..hahah
  21. think there is one for sale cheap with said mods already just need some finish work on car sales last week, around 3k mark if I remember right
  22. you can import it from usa, I have before , what do you intend to coat ? it takes a fair bit to coat something some is spray on some is brush on or dip you can try steve from lonsdale paint supplies he might be able to get it.
  23. sorry dont think anyone here would tell you how to remove the alarm, unless your in front of them with proof of ownership
  24. depends on which model and what you want it for, cost ? like all brands they make cheap and expensive and everything in between. the cheap is about the same as the sony the old sony, is fine for fronts but subwoofer no. youre not going to gain a lot from a low end cadence 100w per channel on front speakers. a mid to upper model would improve it
