  1. not sure if anyone has read this about iphones/devices, but really apple didn't test them in australia based upon the temp restrictions did they ? even outside the car they get over that hot ? Apple over temp warning
  2. Nice, so that is your car I saw with the interesting airbrushing on the shift area.... its pretty cool imo . really the pads can plug into your data port and display your gauges as well. if you need room. your about at the point of no return, and making a custom dashboard there is a few gotchas on tablets and getting them to display outboard while playing on the pad screen at the same time. the fix is know but not widely. Im using my old iphone 3gs for some new tricks in the car until I get a tablet to ditch my radio. its hard to justify having a ipad, iphone and laptop, they should just make a really kick ass ipad so I can ditch my laptop too..lol to many limitations for a device , and I have a love - hate relationship with apple give me a linux device thats stable and upgradeable wihtout hassles.lol think you will see a lot of changes once the cloud computing takes effect and National broadband network , 4G etc.
  3. chris the compliance shop that did my car wired the drivers convience module out of the loop, I had to open up the drivers door to find the hack they did to over ride it. pm for how they did it. returned it to normal now . also the light around the key surround is easy to fix. I changed mine to Blue LED, looks way better now.
  4. that alarm is a problem waiting to happen, ditch it for something new and ADR approved. the siren backup battery will have to be dead or near death . the old alarms can be scanned and remotes duplicated from a block away without you knowing. thats how bad they used to be. ditch it or save to buy a new one first , something is better then nothing to pop the boot you need addition parts. actuator that pulls the release.unless the car is fitted already with a push button release. not the deal on the drivers floor kind
  5. doran pro audio in bankstown the area is the boot on the sides is close to 1.5 cubic feet, not 1.5 liters. oops.lol my USA side got sidetracked. and that takes into account the fiberglass and most med. price subs magnet structure and poly fill.
  6. hmm not positive but chis rogers might know ?more queen street ? maybe In car intalllations anyone who can do a mold for the area, you need to move your jack to inside your spare tyre well , which has more then enough room. and don't cut metal, it can be a structual defect per ADR rules the space is about a litre depending on how tight the fit it. . remember you might need to service your light globes and remove your rear bar sometime so don't hinder that access perm(R34)
  7. only works in areas of good cell strength, right now Im on to the TIO for unresolved cell site problems in my area. shared between two telcos. line of sight , 500 meters from the tower you can only get 1 bar tops of signal, outside !!! near the beach, no signal due to wave refraction and salt refraction in the air. the thing drops to emergency or no signal. this is in the adelaide area not whoop whoop. other times you get signal propagation to a cell tower 20 km away and no ability to triagulate from the tower, since it can't see your close in towers ? so its not a perfect solution but better then basics be easier if people didn't steal cars here but thats asking to much ? lol
  8. sounds dodgy for sure, maybe a grounded speaker .frame using up the power, amp section burned out on the deck. not upping the watts to the proper levels, attenuation turned on interior sound mic turned on, high noise = high volume, low noise = low volume some decks have that does the fader work ? i take it the fm radio is loud ? if so the deck has the sound EQ for the cd setup on I would suss. ? pioneer uses different eq and sound settings for cd and radio on some radios wouldnt worry until you ditch the deck, then check the speakers "OHM" load. but if they have a capacitor or xover network you can see mixed numbers other then 4-8ohms get a installer to do the work, or you might be in for more then you bargain for , a quick fix for a pro or days of ripping your hair out on the forums your choice ? and welcome to the skyline world, and get a ADR approved alarm first /asap
  9. a custom molded box can fit behind your panels ,leaving you all of your boot space ???? 12" subs fit both sides unless your running some monster subs with deep magnets, and the new shallow mount stuff can fit under rear decks on some cars or behind the factory panels in the boot. and can be well hidden I'd show you mine but its more elaborate then a sealed box and made out of carbon fiber/lexan
  10. no bad comments on the company to post here , but its a generic fiberglass box,for generic sounds. = fail
  11. hmmm, a bit steep . you can do better a few guys on this forum sell car audio and Im sure they could fit your budget easy and they have a great rep for installing too.!!
  12. i just put in CREE's LED's and holy shite, there brighter then the headlightsbut in reverse light holders, no mods needed... now everyone moves from behind me ,,,lol panel led for my rego light. modded like charles reverse lights and side mount white SMD for daytime running lights, invisible when off. on the underside of the headlight housing. R8 style
  13. any decent car audio installer can whip one up quick ??? and you can get a pocket for the bottom if needed
  14. mine had the same problems due to the baby bolts and trained muppets who installed them for compliancing. dumb ADR rules, i'd like to see you get three babies in the back of my gtt with the seat all the way back... even 1 wouldnt fit without kicking me in the ear...lol end rant ...lol remove the grills and bolts/bracket if its a r34 and see if that fixes it. if so then you either need to break the adr rules and bin them. out. or mod the grills to not distort the speaker frames. you need 3 per ADR rules , not responsable if you remove them !!! record the sound with video if you can?
  15. think most people just leave it empty why add any weight ? the rear seat is fairly light in comparision to most domesticated models. now the spare tyre is another story, can they make it any heavier.....for such a hunk of crap
  16. jaycar pin remover, I posted a link a while ago to one , they should look similar to this one take a lot of photos or you will miss place where the pins come from hint hint
  17. lower the steering adjustable colum first, remove screws as above, remove the collar around the turn signals makes it easier to get out, unplug the connection on the rea while tilted forward, then slide towards the middle of the car, while the gauges are on angle face down, tight but it will pass once the wiper switch is down. install reverse of above dont break off the tripmeter pin !!! takes 5 min once you have dowe it twice..lol
  18. you can buy fuel rails in red made out of billet.? or machine out the powercoat, or use the anodizing spary paint from VHT heat/fuel proof stick the the same colour as your other bits, red calipers, then red for engine parts, ? millinuim jade is overrated unless the rest of the engine is for real ? plus it matches nothing fewer colours is better, two or so IMO
  19. amplified DAB TV/Radio antenna black suede headliner, blue LED dome light no flash on camera R34 with sunroof
  20. easy as piss to make, mold the old lens in pinkysil resin recast in liquid glass done in 24 hours. in perfect clarity
  21. there is some that looks real, I can show you real next to fake in a photo and you would be hard pressed to see the difference. there is another option , Hydroprinting, that I was looking into. you can't tell the difference at all. I have vents done in that so you could see all three real, hydro, wrapped side by side I can get the seat material that is carbon weave in various colours as well, the good stuff , rated for salt water , UV rated, and burn tested for use on boats. don't forget to wrap small parts you also need adhesion promoter, or it won't stay on in the heat, or on corners.
  22. I would suss that problem, don't assume wiring diagrams are right, most are from the USA where skylines were never sold until R35 and the wires still don't match up most likely a mis wired interface plug. for the wrong car. model. year . photos would help do you know if you have aftermarket speakers, like splits ?
  23. shame its so far away I have 20 years in 12 volt industy. lol remember 8 tracks with home subs in cars...oh the days hahaha
  24. PM sent to Howie bought and paid for already...lol gotta be quick around here..haha
  25. the sinergy sticker you speak of ..lol is best removed with 3M or similar wax and grease remover soaked on a rag, do not use a razor except to pick up a corner to lift, they will scratch you glass. just wet the rag and smear it on the edges lay the rag on the parts you want off and let it sit for a min then remove. wash afterwards with water. not fatal to paintwork it will remove wax...lol and won't melt rubber. unless left on it for a while . its a must have for any garage, it works on everything..lol
