  1. Get over it, you don't know what your talking about, I've installed at least a few thousand pioneer decks etc and never had 1 blow or even a return for problems from bad parts. never. most issues are install related, bad wiring , shorts, etc or people dragging to much current from the power antenna wire, use a relay !!!!! or ANY brand of deck will fry speakers hissing/popping on "deck power" is normally caused by grounded speaker frames to speaker cables or shorted speaker leads hitting the speaker frames common on thin coax speakers, or blown capacitors on crossovers/noise filters floating grounds thru antenna jacks can as well
  2. from my roughly 25 years in the 12v industry , the Pioneer brand is 1 of the best in terms of features, dependability etc. so your comment isn't valid at all.
  3. was he running past with security behind him...lol or pimping again..lol
  4. long way off but a definite "maybe(70% yes)" from me..lol missed it last year...grrrrrrrr
  5. if you can hang out for a few more weeks, my series 2 R34 front bumper in white, with the series 2 clear turn signal lights will be up for sale. cheapish rear bar as well
  6. a fuel cover, so when it sparks (amp cuts off and on) and you have fuel vapours, kabooooooooom!!!!! bad idea they are rubber isolated in certain places which is why it cuts off. and very unsafe to use depends on how far away you mounted the amp from things, is it a GTR or ? best is a larger size bolt, paint sanded off under it. fender washer, with locking teeth washer on top of that one. solder all connections depending on the amp current you may need big wire ? what gauge are you using ? and if you sand off the paint to bare metal, protect the area afterwards or it will create a rust spot. make sure the fuse is at or very very near the battery, what gauge wire are you using on the positive side as well? a photo is worth a thousand words..lol when it comes to help.lol
  7. LAS VEGAS if you want to party... OMG can I say some mad party life in that town. 5 days and no sleep..lol don't even know what time it is most of the time..lol
  8. this has been in force in most US states since the dawn of time. and I agree with it ,too many "fighting" drunks around way worse in Australia then USA . not sure why everyone needs to drink and fight, what happened to happy drunks ?? in most cases you just stock up on booze before you hit the bar's if they shut out at 2am anyhow. police love it, they sit outside bars at 2am shut time waiting for drunks to put the keys in the car. too many drink /drugged up drivers here too. just be glad you don't live in Utah, a dry state on sundays with blue laws on booze/car sales, etc. or places with curfews on kids ?????? and don't get me wrong I like to party as much as the next guy(kadina...lol) but the amount of stupid crimes against people and property is ridiculous here, fueled by the drugs/drunks in most cases at that time of the night. Adelaide is still trying to be a country town, closed after 5pm.. and more laws won't fix the idiot problems I avoid the city after hours because of idiots, fights, etc, ,,,, which sucks cause I'd like to party without hassles till late
  9. the processor part you like is called BBE and AINEt is alpine sound delay, which is now called Sound "IMPRINT" technology, and can be found in Alpine new models, my old Pioneer radio had it as well. the BBE is fantastic and sound field control is great. lots of people use it in radios now Link to BBE but you may also try Audiocontrol , the one I use does heaps more then that one does the other old stuff you can dig up in USA with some research to find parts
  10. there can be other issue's which is why I thought you should call chris. the list is long on why it does it , and if he is close or has time to listen to it on the phone much easier to sort that way. doubt the sub is dead unless the voice coil is burnt on it.and dragging on the coil gap. a tensil lead can be hitting a the frame on the sub, the list is huge before doing your head in just call chris
  11. wine r32 gtr white rims with a custom rego at autobarn noarlunga, buying blue silicone hoses,....mmmmmmmm i need some too...lol shame the car had some blue smoke on takeoff onto beach rd. past a silver stag near marion about noon a silver r32 basement level =0 mods on beach rd. looked like a honda prelude from a distance, boring..lol
  12. they do have support if you bought from one of the bigger sellers , and MSN to discuss any issues live. had one that had out of date test maps, they FTP'd me the new version , no drama's the plug above causes most problems or hacked installs
  13. call Chris Rogers in QLD Details in link
  14. that has nothing to do with your alarm in 99% of the cases, but weak battery/bad connections or poor tune on the car Directed Electronics(viper, python, and a few other big names) has lifetime warranties on parts if professionally installed, but batteries inside siren can fail after a 3-4 years , quicker if you run the main car battery flat a few times best alarm is ADR compliant for insurance reasons , and used 100% of the time even in your garage, as a multi layered security approach. and installed by someone who knows how "pro" to hide it, and wire properly and common sense on when and where you leave your car.
  15. would love to go to Mt Gam but once again the show conflicts with another big one.
  16. read this and see if any of it makes sense Noise prevention
  17. some chick driving a white gtt with gold and silver rims, 7 series rego heading into bp car wash on Brighton rd , had pretty dark windows red scudia ferrari, followed by 430 plain jane model , out of glenelg white 32 gtr with bird crap all over it , tapleys hill "xtina " wine r33 at gym in mv silver stag, on beach rd. got a wave pearl stag at some kids event on sheriffs rd
  18. should be fine, just setup the amp gains properly, and fuse at the battery
  19. the noise you hear is the ABS brakes running a test on the line pressure when you first drive off. 10-15 seconds after moving forward. on the GTT I have a cheap upgrade antenna for Digital tv. lol works a treat but needs some fiddling to get it sorted. thanks for the buttons to push for local/ distance due to prior commitments I have been volunteered to go out to eat friday , so villi's is out mate. sorry. I live 15 min from noarlunga , in the dirty south...lol
  20. You can piggy back power off the reverse lights if you just want it to work when in reverse depending on current draw? I use a 8 channel external video switcher, but mine has a few extra sources and screens to deal with. you can get one for under 30 bucks if you look around. or hook up a relay to switch it on . search for Bosch relay guide. it has a lot of good ideas in it.
  21. a incandescent Test light is fatal to a newer car, LED bulb ones not so bad but still draw too much current for some circuits. like a airbag /ECU ??? and wont tell you if its 5 volts or 13volts on the wire ? both light up the dumb test light and I don't know how many times a rookie installer uses a dash/dimmer light wire for grounds, cause it shows as a ground on most cars, until you flick on the lights, then positive voltage hits the radio ground. and floats the ground on the radio thru the antenna jack...not a good thing
  22. wanna see my fluke.. 87 if you want a laugh its in pieces on my table,,,,the LCD plugs and IC driver got salt water corrosion from a downpour of rain a few drops must have entered the case thru the LCD area. when my R31 broke down in the dark I had to sort the lights out in the rain, some previous owner had hacked the wires behind the battery for some fog lights and used 3 different pieces of wires to extend the circuit off the relays. dickhead..lol but good old Fluke, a little toothbrush and baking soda scrub off and circuit board cleaner, works good again, now to fix the light on it...grrrrr I've had this thing since it came out, dropped a million times, nothing beats a FLUKE, but on my current budget I bought a jaycar top of the line one to measure High current thru a clamp rather then shunt 300amps Fluke 87 cost a boat load in OZ, and someone stole my 78 off the workbench when I worked in Denver Fluke is backup now. till light is fixed. Nothing wrong with some cheaper ones, some even test transistors and diodes by simple plug in. great for circuit level board work. I have a few cheapos for that very thing, lol tools are like porn,,,, you can never have enough..lol kidding on the porn..lol
  23. I use Redline MTL in the 5 spd, had rough shifts now all sorted out. and yes easier to pour thru the shift area then use pump, since I had the shifter off anyhow for a new rubber boot seal..lol tried Syn power first, dumped it out the same day horrible stuff. and use "smirf blood" ...shockproof in the Nismo LSD on the R34, works a treat , just looks odd , so thin and blue...lol diff hooks up so much better now. can get a GB on All Redline oil now if interest arises in the future ?
  24. if you have access to a old school type antenna (metal rod type) to test it with, like old ford one, plug it in and prop it up in the seat I can just about bet the one in the rear window is stuffed, most suck even a newish mitsu VRX I drive around sometimes with a top of the line factory radio, and roof antenna does that same thing , around Adelaide. my old top of the line Pioneer did it in the R34 as well. but found the wires hacked from importer and rear ones disconnected off GPS unit in rear pillar. don't throw the radio out yet, the antenna needs a ground plane to work right. what part of town do you live in down south ? might try amplified hidden model instead ?? or if your around one night at villi's look at it for you?
  25. It's more about the "passion for all things motorsport", including car shows, drag racing, rally, drifting, etc , If you don't like it don't attend it. but to kill off yet another part of car culture is another Notch in favour of governments who want to shut it all down. and make you all drive white base model camry stop bad mouthing everything that doesn't fit your agenda, alienating current or future club members in the process ???? enormous amount's of money spent on cars stimulates this economy.... SA benefits locally and Australian business owners alike. not sure what the Best Club Attitude award criteria was but ? you won anyway. good to catch up with a bunch of you , looking forward to future shows, nationals, kadina, EHP, Riverlands, etc.
