agree, crunchy synchos , try swapping out the oil in the gearbox, with some "Redline" brand oil. not shockproof but MTL (or suitable weight) it will make your box like butter in the cold weather compared to the factory goop shockproof (smirf blood is too slick for syncro meshing to work) it will also bring the temps down on the tranny in hot weather drastically, I can get a group buy price on it if we can get a decent order ? I've used it for 20 years without drama in any car if not then try the clutch spigot bearing , and disk, springs in the hub a worn bushing on the throwout fork can create too much free play for clean disengagement as well

Is 65hz On Hpf Too Low For These 6x9's?
Carbon 34 replied to R 2 THE J's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Well lets see, speakers don't stay at 3ohm resistance, it is a static measurement of the coil in the magnet gap. at different freq. the resistance changes until the coil leaves the magnet gap, the coil resistance also fluctuates up or down depending on temp of the wire coil. not sure how you figure the sound stays in the car, does it have a dynamat type product installed ? if not then you can hear it , unless its alike a Rolls Royce ? are you running electronic crossovers and passive ? do you know about phase shift if so ? and DB rolloff at f3 ? and not sure why you would use a 1k tone for bass, 1k is the tone babies cry at which is why they murder your ears but it's not even in the sub/bass freq range. its in the mids range have you used a RTA on the car I would gather it is full of holes in the freq range you describe? using a RTA, and some other tools of the trade you can see the ohm loads while on power at all ranges ? do you know how to build a Zobel Network to keep the freq/ohm load stable? and you never mention what volt levels your head unit supplies to the amp ? and how much distortion at that level ? the signal out is only as good as the signal in ??? your calculations don't consider loss due to heat on the amp, Class AB or D or ? if the amp produces 150w at 4ohms its more then likely to produce around 250-300w max per channel at 2ohms , your calculations would be way off unless if a cheater style amp that quadruples power at lower ohm loads without all the details best guess would be your amp pushes about 175-190watts per channel to the speaker might be RMS or Max depending on the amp, quality if its CEA certified power or made in china claims for power output ? well I think we went way over the top for most users here. but really they are just 6x9's ..lol not the bet for SQ comps. at high volume..lol -
Not sure about your location, Chris Rogers Link to Pm Chris would know your area. the sensors are pretty easy to install you just have to take your time , a few tricks so you don't fark up the paint work

that would be States RD nugz, he lives a few blocks from me..lol

Didn't know you work in the car security Nigel? are you on "12volt insider" forums ? easy to take a car without a relay, it's called a flatbed ! even GPS won't stop a car thief. they can thwart that as well , if they want your car consider it gone!!!! but a skyline doesn't draw that super hard core crim. like a prized priceless car a alarm is only as good as the installer and must be used 100% of the time no exceptions, club lock added you try to make the thief take too much time to be worth his/her time. if you leave loose items that can be turned for a quick buck it will get broken into even when putting petrol in , 100% locked and no purses or crap/iphones on the seat, smash and grab thiefs don't care about camera's if you read this forum on the car audio section we cover the gamut of questions for security options. the sky is the limit ! some extreme , but you can stop 95% of the car theft and about 80% of car breakins if your careful and vigilant. you wouldn't leave your kids on a pedophiles street... but you will leave your prized car on the curbside waiting to be fondled by everyone ??? at least your car is in one piece, do not pass go, go straight over to get a proper alarm fitted !!!!

yes they can, but it requires a lot more work to do it neat (dont butcher the door panel) and sound good(good seal to the door skin).

Is 65hz On Hpf Too Low For These 6x9's?
Carbon 34 replied to R 2 THE J's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
yes too low, and btw 6x9's they won't play that low properly ,doesnt matter what there rated at ,they make 1000watt 6x9's now lets see you want sub bass but no sub?, fiberglass a sealed enclosure under the 6x9's or bite the bullet and get a sub, even a good quality 6" in a designed box will hit lower and harder then a 6x9 -

white r34 Rego GTT in woodcroft, no front bar ????? got a wave silver stag MR RS4 at gym car park , got a wave
-
what car is it going in ? how much room do you care to waste, spare tyre intacted still ?
-
Long story in wave lengths , volume of car, volume of box, port tuning, bass boost, etc a real installer can tune the box to whatever they want, ported, sealed, bandpass, transmission line, etc the bass can be setup for any freq. and sound can be tailored to suite your taste based upon main music material Alpine Type R is only average in my book, you can find lots better, some a lot cheaper and still name brand stuff it sounds fine but for what you get you can do much better once again a $1000 dollar sub in a prefab $100 dollar box with sound shite house get a box made for the exact sub you want to use. a real box, screwed, glued, no leaks, no rattles, thick MDF wood , fiberglass, or carbon fibre ported the right way if you go ported, sealed sounds smoother in most cases. most name brand radios are fine, some can be fussy or unreliable but even a 200 buck deck is 1000 times better then the junk radios they come with from factory you can overdrive/clip the input signal preamps on the amplifiers with 4v-8v output decks, make sure you know what your doing when you set gains on amps clipping destroys speakers in a quick way a 1g system is a reality if you do your own install and shop wise it can be done and sound decent too

Baking Soda is what pro mechanics use with warm water , no real trick to doing it , but you must prevent corrosion by taking that battery out , which by the way its illegal to use a wet cell battery in the boot of your car ADR without proper venting, drain holes. and as you can see , there a crappy battery that farks everything when it spills. buy a gel cell or AGM battery and redo the connectors , no more corrosion from acid plus the car will thank you by starting easier boiling water does sweet fark all , unless you want to make things steamy too..lol or if you rinse with it. you can get a battery spray that coats the terminals with some redish oily crap to seal the corrosion off, might find it in a boat store , haven't seen it in normal car shops here in OZ

I wasn't in my car lol but you drove right past me mirror to mirror...yes you seemed a bit zombie like..lol

yeah we need to wait a month or two. my new body kit isn't painted and mounted yet..lol -
mix it in a sprayer a lot thinner it should bubble a lot then rinse with cool fresh water then dry,,,, any thick corrosion use a toothbrush or soft scrubber.. have fun...lol PS it eats clothes slowly so do it with old crappy ones only cost a few bucks to do it, look in the baking isle for baking soda
-
baking soda and warm water in a small cup , into a paste then spread on corrosion, rinse with fresh water, but DO NOT get into open cells where you fill water think you meant distilled water weezy ? it goes inside the battery random car porn

step away from the car, you really don't have a clue , who install the stuff ? you void warranty on install by hacking someone elses work? the volt gauge on the battery has to be wired to shut off with the car, the factory jap battery is worthless the extra current from amps kills the little battery quickly and a bigger fuse doesn't fix problems with wiring. and last but not least the colder weather reduces the amount of AMPS the battery can provide, "CCA" Cold cranking amps

hahahah OK all the above statements are wrong 100%
