judging from what you found under the dash, I would gather bad wiring from the previous owner , also check the battery voltage, connections tight and clean ? or a coincidence , check the computer error codes , I would suss your airflow meter or Idle control valve is playing games on you does your car do it cold or hot ? both ? bet your car is belting out black smoke before it dies (similar to a stuck closed choke ) do you see stained black haze near the tailpipe or really sooty looking inside it ? carefully remove the old wiring from old stereo , it may still have power on the amp wires ????? but the ecu codes should be a place to look after you clean up the above ?

Paint them yourself Matty, I did my 31 covers 8 years ago with bright red VHT paint and they still look show room fresh. and if your keen on some airbrushing flames or ? then pm me I might be able to hook you up just make sure the rocker cover is spotless outside and a light scuff with a scotchbright, the logo if its has one can be removed and polished up or ?

fit yourself then run the car over to get it aligned when done save a lot of dosh if you have a decent set of hand tools

considering how it was made it doesnt' look half bad..lol I take it the 150 was speaker as well ? the craft glue will fail in the heat PM me when your wonder what to use to do it right. but overall not bad

You can hear a difference with the silent garage ,engine off, and the right source material(not some crappy MP3), and kick ass speakers. but most won't hear the distortion over the wind, engine noise till the voice coils melt and they wonder why the speaker won't play or the amp shuts down to protect itself from a dead short.even made in china amps can be very clean THD but get nasty harmonics when pushed

have you beat by a few years Chris...lol Decided to take my Master installer Test.( MECP) to prove my brain is full of car audio crap..lol and I'm not talking out my ass..lol

So that was you pete, I was on the poo collector as well, could hear it coming like a sub bass train, then bang toilet shook more then normal, and more sub bass vibration, between mud explosions. that was the quickest earthquake I have felt, used to live in san fran, LA those become a tad more interesting. living on the island between oakland and san francisco. MAN MADE one at that. our navy barracks are the star shaped buildings

Make Your Skyline More Resistant To Thieves....
Carbon 34 replied to smok74's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Skylines were never allowed into USA grey market imports until recent. even now they still have to jump thru a lot of hoops to get one.and they won't pass emissions laws in most states even unmodified....so massive cost involved. and in japan carjacking doesnt exist for the most part. -
wool doesnt sound good, the weave is too tight, they used it on some home speakers back in the day as a gimick hot glue falls off if applied in a dusty box or vibration staples can rust, and vibrate out, or even create a sound of there own , like a tuning fork? stick with spray glue or contact cement

look elsewhere it's not the radio or current draw from a radio, amps maybe but not a radio, I doubt you wired it so wrong the car won't run, unless you shorted a wire ? did you use a tester or some kind ? maybe a test light ? or did you pull on the wire harness a lot ? could be bad alarm wires but once again not enough info. does it sputter at idle or ? does it actually die ? what car is it ? engine type ? S13 or ? maybe post on hardtuned.net, NS.com sounds more like a fuel, spark, battery ground issue or failure of a sensor. check the ECU for fault codes ? and post this in the other section for more help. hope this helps , but it wasn't the radio unless you shorted something using a test light or yanked out some other dodgy wiring ?

random bad photo, this chick looks like she is taking a dump on the front bar..hahahaha, worse car poise ever.

NOT required unless you use dodgy radio's or the install/RCA is crap. a properly grounded, installed system never needs this (unless the car charging system is bad) and you can overdrive the input of some Amps or processors to the point of clipping so check the Amp specs first. I use a 13 volt line driver on mine but the processor downstream can take it and has clipping lights on it to tune with.

spotlight sells it for less then 8 bucks its used for pillow stuffing, polyfill, but buy loose stuff not sheets of it unless using in a ported box. spray glue the box walls , and lightly take hand fulls of it and stick it to the box /glue do not get too much in it or it will sound muffled or flat. and do not get any on the sub frame or ports for those of using it in ported boxes a light fill is all you need, to smooth out the sound from a boomy sounding box, bass can sound tighter/quicker polyfill tricks the box into thinking its bigger then it is, by bending sound waves around the fibre's the sound length changes(acoustical physics, simplified)

too much water ingestion into a a running engine can bend valves , break cranks, and rods, anything you hit with water can short out. common sense why they put crappy looking covers on everything ????
-
why would anyone come to SA on purpose ...lol Defect Central ..lol

cheap red can engine cleaner kills connectors and anything cadmium plated (just about all nissan bolts, pipes etc), discolours the engine iron block and various other things and kills the clear coat on your car/frame rails !!! fish in the sea, and your lungs DO NOT USE IT !!!!! do not use the crap at the car wash either buy the environmental friendly stuff in 5 liter bottle(autobarn or supercheap have it for about 7 bucks), and put in a spray bottle, much cheaper and works 1000 times better on parts you want to keep. then cover the filters, spray silicone water dispersion on all electrical connctors and spark plug wires etc. BEFORE you spray on degreaser then you can go crazy on degreasing since you can control the spray pattern better in a spray bottle. a slightly warm engine helps as well rinse well but not with high pressure on anything but engine blocks . do not degrease engine sensors, injectors, anything rubber, crank angle sensors etc. let engine dry overnight if you can before starting it again. use a rubber protector on all hoses but not on belts, don't use Armour all on anything it tends to dry long term. meguars makes a rubber dressing that last 6 months or more for all hoses, wire harness, power cables etc. use care not to spray the paint or glass on the car, it can discolor with any degrease agent.

you are lucky,, the parking is even worse at the ale house, I used to work on that corner...sux ass

yes on the R34 GTT it cuts the compressor out under heavy engine loads, (ie flooring it). don't know the exact cut off but it tells you in the service guide the exact numbers

caught a glimps of a r33, silver grey on the side of the road just off states rd and panalinga, think someone was on the phone ? white r33 with blue anodized rims lips on beach rd.

is it me or does parking suck ass near the directors hotel ????not a huge fan of leaving my car out on the street near the "drunken park" dwellers who wander around looking for a quick smash and grab .lol and so doubt I come to any events located at the hotel, no matter who gets there gear off to show off the pole skills , sorry just my 2c
