Wow step away for a min and it got busy lol Mate I would be happy to see some kickass jobs from DIY ? Anyone as long as its safe My critical response was a bit OTT because a bunch of people know I dont sugar coat a response but tell it like I see it Anyone can ask a question anytime and not be flogged or put down ? Nobody knows it all!!! Life would be boring if you did ? so I'm sorry if my responses were blunt but you get sick of shit stirring users when your trying to be helpful without bias ? Best wishes on your installs all DIY Always here to help -

Lol no worries . No red cards today haha Passion in the industry is a good thing and keeps a company motivated . And around a long time A quick buck ( no passion for the industry)company ends up out of biz quick by doing the wrong thing for customers , Todays lesson lol old word of mouth marketing saying : good service will be spread by a customer to a few friends ( good thing) a bad experience will be shared with at least 20 ( bad thing ) Thank you come again -

Mate in all honesty there is 10 right ways and 500 wrong ways to do anything , some spots do not lend them-self to shrink without melting everything in site , and you have to remember to most businesses have a certain amount of time allocated for a product install to keep profitable ? I'm positive any installer would spend a day or more on a car but cant without charging for it, just like any hourly labour business would ?? Installers give away enough time already without fuss tape isnt tape, installers have access to a better brand of products then off the shelf DIY people use And sticky tape is what you want ? last time i checked ?? Done right it shouldn't need to be removed unless you want it out so why would tape be a issue ? Factories use it all the time? Security is a touchy subject to any installer We get asked a few times a year at least !! questions that sound dodgy like a car thief needs To override a system or wiring And every installer on the planet knows all to well DIY alarms are 95% disasters or dangerous and we don't enjoy untangling a rats nest to fix it or finding out the dude/lady had no clue and burned the car down because of it ? Its hard to judge skills a and aptitude to install online ? Which is why we dont condone it with open arms Its bad policy to promote something possibly dangerous when you own a business that has to feed your family based on word of mouth advertising ? Please put yourself in Daniels shoes for a second would you enjoy someone slandering your livelihood over tape or anything silly ? or because a possible email ended up lost in space or spam filter ? I can say i hear good things about his company all the time ? Not bad things !! and pretty sure he goes out of his way to help anyone if he can? You know i can say i use kevlar sleeves and other methods of making sure installs Cannot be cut open but realistically its takes a hell of a lot longer to work on and installer /dealers would have a farking heart attack if they had to open the harness up again without proper tools and it automatically adds enormous amounts of time and parts cost to the install and special tools to work with it So it has to be right and the product must be dependable to avoid comeback to fix , lifetime warranty to original owner Don't think any of us hate DIY we just have to use caution on what is said and done to avoid lawsuits and entanglement in a car theft ring or worse property destruction or death from poor install ? Please show respect when asking and I'm sure help is available Now shake hands lol End rant -
Yep thats the place , good service ( fast)and cheap Compared to others

Overheating While On Higway!
Carbon 34 replied to THRLLR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Fan clutch is stuffed if no air locks , good coolant with proper amount, no blockages in grill or fins Turn on the heater is it hot? To flush it needs to be set on hot or it will airlock the head See if the fan engine off has a tiny bit of résistance when you spin it it should not freespin more then a quarter turn even hot If it wont spin then its seized and needs replaced Normally that sounds like a jet and power falls off trying to drag the fan faster if the clutch freespins its not locking up when needed and results in overheating on road in traffic its prob spinning fast enough to cool and load is lighter Common problems on rb Check your oil !! -
Laminate it kevlar to stop breakage , spiderwebbing and scuffing on the ground damage Then prep normal after test fit , kevlar doesnt sand out so beware Costs about a hundred to do it right

Your amp is picking up the electrical in the rca's Ground looping it you wont hear it until youngive it some juice Your fm antenna in the grid is picking up noise Your fuel pump is dying or struggling to find ground Your missing sex toy is found??

The cover isnt mb quart mb quart logo is in red and black on those the parts inside look of mid range quality cost wise so not junk it might be a japan brand logo of a normal local brand ? Mb quart speakers are easy to ID compared to normal brands And sound good I wouldnt worry if the xover is a bastard as long as both sides are the same , the xover points on a vast amount of tweeters is very close to the same point in khz (5-7khz)and mids around 180hz-4500-6khz @12 db Sometimes the circuit boards say the brand? they pop out easy in most cases

R34 Timing Belt Problems.need Help Asap
Carbon 34 replied to r34jdm92's topic in General Maintenance
Gates, hks, greddy all made from same company gates The kevlar belt sounds horrible because the mech didnt tension the belt with a warm engine now its too tight warmed up My did the same thing and gates usa told me to retension with warm block , fixed now sounds like its rubbing or a tight rubberband -
Logo doesnt ring a bell but the guts and layout look common to a few brands Why do you need to know ? curious

New To The Scene - Would Like Your Opinions!
Carbon 34 replied to GSkylineR33's topic in South Australia
I get 300 in town Nearly 600 on hiway if your not flogging it Ac on takes a bit more Only turbo issue is premuim fuel cost more !! And maintenance does too Na you should get 400-600 a tank on 65 litres not flogging it and 5 spd Insurance was 5 bucks more then commo vt r8 And country insurance half again from city with high agreed value but old fart no tix or accidents -
Thats exactly what shannons told me Mods adr or not as long as its listed in detail are covered ( video or photos recommended ) If deemed to be the reason for accident ,no cover on that item they always get funny when I add more to the policy but it made it easier to up the agreed market value Lets face it 99% of any mod isnt adr doesnt mean its unsafe?, not many companies adr test anything and the adr rules in most cases are ridiculous ( except to stop bogan repair jobs ,seriously unsafe cars, emissions) Some items carry TUV certificates which imo is even stricter then adr testing ? Besides most car nuts spend every dollar making it better then any adr rule specs haha Australia has some of the lousiest insurance companies , all i hear is horror stories in Australia ,in the states claims are painless 10 min in and out most of the time, and mods they dont care about unless it causes the crash or exceeds the policy value, ie.10 grand stereo needs extra coverage over stock? cant believe australians havent rebelled yet!! lets start the uprising lol

This wasnt about this car ? Link or info ? Cant expand further , think bigger fish will fry for it

The parts are all over ebay same ones as the phone uses ??? Those guys had it in 2 hrs not a big deal if you know what your doing its as fast as the resin dries speed wise? but i would prefer to think it out and make it perfect not a wart on the dash
-
I dont have the ipad dash in my car its mocked up on the bench , i have thought about popping it in my car but my current setup rebuild plans would need tweeking , it would be a downgrade on some cases I do have some mock up photos on my laptop i think showing the process to refinish the dash etc lots of build log photos etc just havent had time to publish it you could keep the ashtray etc just i'm a serious hater of smokers lol Bought a smoke free car from japan which is a miracle to find lol Sure chris I'll dig up some photos of fitment on the bench think the car test fit ones are still on the camera
-
How many bogans , meth heads or general scum does it take to steal a car 1 with a towing setup No amount switches will thwart that A gps might A big attack dog maybe a security gaurd 24/7 doubt it common sense will stop a fair bit Cant tell you how many skylines or stags i see parked overnight in extremely bad areas lately Mostly P 's but not all A better kill switch is one you cant see a proximity switch behind plastics( touch switch or voice command) Or close range rfid setup to blow a hidden fuse on a major system if a sequence isnt followed to start it mutiple layers of security not just 1 The " pro's " arrested had recoded alarm remotes as well so it would have cost some cash to do some remotes are hundreds of dollars? and had many cars in various states of strip down they also had the public and a few major companies supporting the operation without knowing it So it should ease up the thefts down south a tad?? I hope

Yeah pretty much except it would happen other places not just after refueling ? Unless that is just a random event A single coil pack wouldnt do that loss of signal to the harness would Or injector pulse not on the main harness? Or ecu malfunction from heat ? it needs to affect all of the coils or injectors at once not just one? just one it would still run , bad but run does the car smell of fuel ( engine flooded smell?) Maybe its not seeing the hot engine temp and choking off the air mixture to suit? flooding the engine in fuel ? The more kw the engine makes the less drivability it has ! (There is a reason the engine is detuned for mass consumption- driveabilty in any condition ) anyway 300kw is running and if its not running it has zero kw so that doesnt matter can you remember if the day was hot , over say 27c or humid ? or you drove up and down lots of hills at speed and pulled into petrol station without idle down to even out the engine temps? fuel lines or filter to close to engine parts and fuel boils in those ? doubt it but no idea how you have it laid out ? Factory or otherwise? fuel reg malfunction is still a possibilty as well , flooding the engine

Without a thermostat in the winter in some locations the oil doesn't get hot enough to flow properly , bad on bearings in some cases or could cause oil starvation if the oil isnt synthetic and clags up Normal mineral oil can freeze solid !! even at 0c its like mud or syrup
