  3. Hi all Please help I've got an R33 series 2 with a high flowed turbo (RB25DET). My boost controller has 4 settings and turbo can boost up to 25psi. (Not that I drive it that hard) Either way ATM I'm not sure if its the turbo that has problems or what, seems like it's spooling and boosting properly however it's lagging hard in first and second gear doesn't want to let it boost past 5 psi but third gear it wants to take off like it used to in the first 2 gears no matter which of the 4 settings I have it set on. When it should be registering a psi amount on controller as it used to its staying at 0.0 and isn't registering on the boost gauge but in third gear it will. I think the alarm was hooked up with the boost controller. Since then though the alarms been disconnected and the controller has worked properly up until now. Just want to make sure I'm not damaging anything, the BOV is releasing pressure though inhibited in first and second because its not boosting like it should be I'd appreciate any advice heaps It's hard being a chick with a worked car

  5. Hope u guys can help me My varex isn't working, the remote has a fresh battery, but after testing wires with a test light shows its not getting power... Where would it be hooked up to? I've read they've got like a 12V cigarette lighter to power them. It was professionally installed by Varex provider if that makes any difference but that was a fair while back... Any suggestions would be great... Unfortunately the guy who I built the car with used to take care of this kinda thing and after being slammed by the DECC I don't want to have to put her back to stock again so as a result I have to drive it around with the butterfly closed which I hate!
  6. A 96 model isn't classic lol?
  7. There's a great cheap parts place called ichiban in Sydney if you're heading down this way

  12. yeah i've checked all vac lines and connectors! i think the new afm i got is shonky thats why i'm after voltages or ohm readings
  13. Hey everyone and anyone yes my afm agony has continued. i know when your afm is disconnected your car will max at 2500rpm but what when you re-connect it just cranks and wont kick i've changed afm, removed pins from connector to rule out poor connection,i've checked continuity from pins to computer all ok, my first Q is has anyone had or heard of this before. Q2 does any one know the volts or ohms reading for a working afm pins. Q3 does the r33 seriesII have a ecu reset procedure? or a diagnostic pin out for codes? Your input and advice will be greatly appreciated o wise sau members! thanks
  14. Thanks for that... my bf looked at the wires and it looks like something sus is going on, there are 2 wires in the sheath and 1 separate leading off the AFM he thought it looked like it was either an earth, another mate said it could be a wire to connect with the computer. the 2 wires are are just twisted on each other and taped and havent been connected very well however this looks like something that was done a while ago and not recently... is that the standard thing with them?
  15. ok here goes, mechanic added a thing that adds on to the air sensor (i think it is) when it was on we turned the car on and it obviously started, anyway when we revved it a bit the sensor wasnt sensing the air ratio and the car started to make blow off noises from the air filter and was occasionally blowing some air out of the BOV (thank god we didnt test drive it) anyway we turned the car off and disconnected it and put it all back to how it was before he touched it... now the F*N thing wont start, it cranks but wont kick over at all, we even pushed it down a hill it wouldnt even jump start... ok now heres my question, is there some sort of relay or fuse the car could have blown? is it the computer thats fried? any info i would appreciate, it only happened yesterday and shes only been in the driveway for a day and its sending me insane!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! ok now that was the prior post, now for todays question we replaced the airflow metre and the car is now kicking over but refuses to rev up over 2500 rpm its like its bouncing back, the car still seems like something is limiting it and it sounds like shit the air filter still sounds like a BOV and the BOV isnt getting a fair share at all so wats next ??? the computer???? or is there a fuse or relay somewhere else we can test....???

  17. ud have to be nuts to go for a WRX, first theyre 4 door- not exactly a sports car, and i think from memory its got a 1.9 litre 6 cylinder engine in comparison to a 2.6 litre GTR the stocky RX has the same engine capacity as the WRX.... u figure it out u have turbo to boost it up and family car sized engine .... u figure it out
  18. Bought after market leather bucket seats for R33 series II having massive trouble installing them.. the brackets are a pain! does anyone have a pattern i can follow or know anyone that makes them..? i only paid $400 for the 2 seats so i dont wanna pay too much for the brackets.... anyone had the same prob?? any info appreciated
  19. weve got an R33 sII and she seems to be missing in high revs of mainly 1st and 2nd gear sometimes its worse than others but sounds like shit, and as a result were not getting the power out of it that we should, weve been running her on VPower Racing so its not like shes getting shit fuel any ideas what her prob is??
  20. yea but think about it, even if they only put cameras in security parking areas, theyre already collecting money off us. Westfield makes millions of dollars a day in rent alone i think the least they can do is make a "security parking" area secure.
  21. Well maybe if the media were made to realise that just because a small percentage of people that have these cars are hoons (or unlucky enough to be caught out) thats not all of us... i have a car like this because i am enthusiast, i love its power, sound and look, i have a car like this because i enjoy it and i am passionate... Maybe some people do drive them like theyre on the track but thats just a connotation... why is it that as soon as someone says its a V8 its all good but a turbo wow step back .... maybe we need to highlight that so people see it from our point of view and not because of wat society has taught them about these cars, they need to realise the time, money, and sweat that have gone in to these cars, all because of a shared passion for them....
  22. As everyone knows it is a definate no no to park your car in the Westfield Miranda car park.... and Westfield wipes their hands of it... they dont care that all these cars are being stolen, but i think we need to make a stand, and hurt them as much as losing these cars hurts us... the last thing the Westfield empire wants is bad publicity, TodayTonight and A Current Affair are busting their arses to get stories to cover and catch people out... Think about it, they do all the research and set the traps to catch these people out why not give them a reason to do it, maybe it will make Westfield overview their "Security Parking" policies in the protection of the cars that are parked there Just recently the bf and I were greeted at the boom gates of the security parking by this young bloke and knowing the danger of leaving the car there I left my bf there with her... obviously the "security guard" didnt hear an alarm go off not knowing that the bf was still in the car waiting for me to get back, next thing this bloke is walking around the car scoping it out when my bf sat up and asked if he was right, sure enough he had nothing to say a fair bit of umming and arring before he choked out "just doing a patrol" of 15 cars that were in perfect site from where he was standing when we first saw him and funny enough he was looking at our car the only import in the parking lot... *a little to suspicious dont u think* I seriously think that these security guards get on the phone to their thieving mates who arent far to come and boost these cars, and ill bet they dont even charge em the $50 lost ticket fee as long as they get the parts or the cut that they want, ill bet any day these cars have been stolen from the "security" parking there is no record of this fee being paid, ( think about it, its a taxable item, therefore has to be recorded and a receipt must be issued) If this makes it to the media think about how much it would hurt that Westfield, obviously showing they hold no regard for their shoppers property, and therefore deters customers from parking there because of the fear that their property will be stolen even if u pay for using this scam of security parking which doesnt even prevent the loss of these vehicles. If they really did care dont you think they would have cameras especially in this parking area, obviously you pay the $4 to have your car inside a gate that isnt secure at all. Even if at a minimum they install CCTV cameras it would deter whoevers stealing these cars and perhaps offer a bit more protection. You might as well park your car anywhere within the common parking area, wat a scam it is! I think this is the only way to give Westfield the wake up call they need and will force them to realise that its not just a couple of people they have to deal with... its many drop me a line and let me know wat u think....
  23. you know wat i reakon the only way westfield would even contemplate upping the security and lowering the risk of our cars being stolen would be to go to today tonight or a current adffair.. let them do all the dirty work and investigating.... the last thing that westfield wants is bad publicity and thats what theyll get if it goes to air, and if they dont do anything about it then customers will be deterred from going there because of the risk of losing their cars... this i think would be the only way to force them to do something about whats going on... wat u think?
