another way to tell difference between s1 and s2 rb25 turbos.. is on series 2 they have the small 10mm pre load bolt next to the water feed i think?? iv been told this is only on bb series 2 rb25 turbz... good luck -
do you know what the plug gaps were set to... sounds like a common misfire... most intank fuel pump swaps are super easy to do yourself.. good luck mate

ey r32 abuser Nice. Always reassuring that the things in good nick. Was thinking to do ACL Race Series Rings, Big end bearings, Main Bearings, RB25 Series 2 oil pump (or N1 if money will allow), JUN crank collar, New welsch plugs, Bottom end gasket kit/main seals, not sure on head gasket, ARP rod bolts if money allows. Will just replace the water pump with a new RB30 one most likely-unless there are any better options. Then linish the crank/fit crank collar, balance the up and down/round and round bits, acid wash, honeing, and then deck the block/shave the head to get my compression up a bit from around 8.3 to around 8.5-8.6 mayb im hoping for. Been slack lately, as money has been scarce, but getting back into it. Cant wait to get her up and running and in the car. Mite be a bit like a diesel whilst i still have the RB20 turbo still on it! how much did you pay for all that work and parts mate?? thats basicaly exact same path im looking to take with my motor.. cheers yo

hey all after pulling my motor and box out for my 25/30 conversion, i pulled my clutch out and found 3 huge cracks threw the cente of the actuall clutch plate.. its an exedy clutch but im not sure exactly what type.. the clutch still worked fine didntshudder or anything does anyone know if exedy have any type or warranty on heir clutches, as this clutch has not done a huge amount of kays.. cheers

yeah thats what i had red.. that rb25 nd rb26 oil pumps are idenical. only the N1's wre a bit different. so i should use the full length crank collar when using the rb25 oil pump?? doing it on a average budget.. and i know its gong to be a slow build.. haha plan on setting rev limit at roughly 7000rpm. anyone elseodne this in cefiro?? i so how id ya go with bonnet shutting? will prob lower crossmembe while i have the motor out..

oh okay thats good news.. keep the motor alive a bit longer with the less revs.. can ya think of anything else i shoud maybe add to the actuall motor build? and do you know if the crank collar is a mut have when using a rb25 turbo oil pump??

on my rb20 i was waiting on gtr injectors and a z32afm before i got a remap.... during the time i was going yo buy the injectors and that i realiesed its not worth fixing the 20 when i can build my own.. not quite sure what the turbo is capable of pushing.. previous owner has told me he was running roughly 220 at the wheels at 16psi.. not sure how much boost or anything ican safelly run threw the turbo.. what do ya recomened max boost for th 25/30?? with adequte fuelling and tunning ofcourse

hey all.. just about to start my first motor build, glad i chose the rb25/30 its for my a31 cefiro, as after a recent run at the track cracked 4 rings and a few rooted valves on my rb20. my plans are a decent condition series 2 bottom end.. with everything converted from my rb20 ie. balancer, power steering etc using the high low setup for the dayco timing belt genuine replacement rings and a hone check bottom end bearings and such. hoping for r32 rb25de head.. machined head aftermarket valve springs genuine head gasket possible rb25det oil pump?? (crank collar needed??) tomei oil restrictors they are parts required. on my rb20 i was running hks cast low mount manifold hks 38mm external gate hks to4e turbo 3inch turbo to tip no cat no mufflers isc front mount cooler shitty bleed valve walbro fuel pump. plan to use all them on the rb25/30 whats everyone think of that setup?? im not after huge power, happy as larry with anything near 200rwkw will be using stock afm, injectors and ecu for run in period.. then upgrade injectors and afm and get ecu remap... what power is accheivable?? this thread is the bomb.. took me about 4 days to read all 335 pages but its so worth it cheers guys

yep thats the one.. turbo red top.. its one hundred percent stock as a rock. i kinda want to keep it that way... i have dodgily fixed the four broken wires on the right side of the ignitor and have it sparking out of the coils.. but still wont run.. possilby going to tow it to a mechainc and get leak down test and see if they can find anything wrong..

yeah i have been reading through their the last few days... my main question is.. can i use all my stock rb20 shit.. so no wirring changes needed or anything.. i can do the mechanicals myself but am hopelees with wiring.

hey all i have a silvertop rb20 powered cefiro thinking of building a rb25de on series 2 rb30 bottom end and keeping it all factory (except gtr valve springs) im wondering if alll my like cas and coils and tps from my rb20 willl go straight into the rb25de head... is their any difference between r33 and r32 rb25de's???? cheers all whats ya thoughts on keeping it all factory internalls.. and what compresion ratio would that give me??

have found their to be 4 broken wires on the right side plug of my ignitor... i am goona have to call a auto electrician to come see if he can replace the plug and re wire it...

anyone have any idea what it could be??? and how do i go about testing the ignitor module?? would silver top and nics red top ignitors be the same?? and one more thing, i hav brought this car from interstate unregistered, i have heard to get it registered in south aus i need to go threw and inspection to check engine numbers and that?? any one know the truths about that??? cheeers

it is a nics head i forgot to mention.. if it is only a few hundred dollar fix to keep using his motor for awhile i would like to fix it.. as i said car is 100 percent factory. so to keep factory motor would be nice,, just want it for my daily as i have my cefy to pour money into... plugs are brand new and coils are gettin power but still wont fire... tried other coils that work fine on my other car. still nothing... what could it be.. f**kn hell aye

okay its down to the coils..... they have power going down the wire's to the coils... still wont fire... my silver top coils were exactlly the same.... but still would not fire.... altho my silertop coils work fine in my rb20 cefiro.... im lost aye....

ignition module the box on the centre cam covers correct?? i just found their are two small wires that have been broken on he right side plug?? that possibly have somthing to do with it... seriouslly fidgetty to gt my hands in their to reconect the wires tho.... ??

giday again... have been playing with the hr31.. has fuel presure and injectors are pulsing... has power to the coils but the coils are not firing.. i have swapped them over with my silvertop rb20 out of my cefiro and they still dont fire.. has brand new plugs in... any one have any idea what could be causing this??? cheeeers yall

yeah the plan prob will be to dump a silver top in it.... but if the red top is still goona work i mind as welll use it.... its only goona be a daily.... i work early mornning so the heaters and the heated seats will work wonders... im hoping i can get her to run . il let yas know how i go... is it a hard wiring conversion from the red top to silver top??
