To all SAU's, There is anotherthread on the forum that describes how to re-wire your fuel pump so it recieves the full 13.8v that comes direct from your battery. PARTS USED- -1 metre of 6mm Red Power Cable -2 metres of 6mm Black Negative Cable -5 x 30 AMP Fuses -1 x Fuseholder to suit Fuses -1 x 12v DC Relay or Horn Relay (You'd want a relay with big terminals to fit your 8GA Cables) -2 x Large Eye Connectors to suit your 6mm Cables (Big enough to fit on your Battery and Chassis Bolt) -Pack of 25 Fork Connectors to connect to your Relay Terminals -Pack of 10 Straight through connectors to suit 8GA cables TOOLS- -Pliers -Crimping Tool -Phillips and Flat Head Screwdrivers -10mm Socket and Ratchet -Multimeter (To check your voltage after modification) LEVEL- Low to Medium I've tried to explain it a lot more in depth to make it easier DURATION- 1hour - 1hour 30mins (depending on electronics background) CAR IN USE- 1994 R33 gts-t DIRECTIONS- 1. Disconnect the negative from your battery, loosen with 10mm socket and remove. This is to make things safer and so you don't damage your ECU. 2. Locate your fuel cell, mine was in the boot on the right hand side of my battery. You will see cables taped up leading towards into the fuel cell lid. Start unwrapping the tape approximately 100mm from the the fuel cell lid until approximately 150mm of cable is visible. This allows enough cable to be cut and joined. 3. You will find 5 wires in total. You may notice that 2 of these cables are a little larger in diameter than the rest. These are your POWER wires feeding your pump. The other 3 smaller diameter wires are for your fuel level sensor. YOUR ACTIVE CABLE IS THE BLUE ONE. YOUR NEGATIVE CABLE IS THE WHITE ONE. 4. Cut both of these wires in the middle of the section you unwrapped. 5. With the white cable that you cut, strip the cables back 10mm and twist them together and crimp one side of your straight through connectors onto these twisted cables. Join your 6mm Black Cable to the other side of the straight through connector and run it neatly to your point of earth on your chassis using an eye connector (loosen nut/bolt with 10mm socket, place eye connector on and tighten back up). Now your fuel pump is totally grounded. 6. You now have your two blue POSITIVE wires that you cut leftover. Connect the side of the blue wire that comes from your computer to the coil of your relay (Terminal A1) using your fork connectors. This will be your switch wire, so when your computer tells the fuel pump to turn on it will switch the relay on. Then connect the other side of the blue wire that leads to the fuel pump to your N/O (Normally Open) side of the relay with another fork connector. Normally Open means that the switch will be open in it's normal state (when there is no power going to the coil), when power is put on the coil (when the fuel pump switch turns on) it will close the switch and thus turn on your fuel pump. 8. Now Connect your 6mm Red Cable to the positive of your Battery with your Large Eye Connector and neatly run it to your relay. Connect this to the other side of your normally open switch with a fork connector. This will now feed your fuel pump with full 13.8v. 9. Your last connection will involve you to connect your 6mm Black Cable to the other side of the coil (A2) on your relay using a fork connector, and neatly run this wire and join it to your point of earth on your on your chassis (loosen with 10mm socket place eye connector on and tighten back up). 10. Here is a detailed wiring diagram. Obviously you can't see white wires on a white background so instead i've made this YELLOW. 11. Double check all your wiring. Reconnect your negative terminal on your battery and start your car. Check the voltage going to the pump, you should now have 13.8v. Hope this has helped out a lot of people. Any questions, feel free to ask. RJ

uhhh ok..so NOW..the original positive is now ONLY used as a switch..not to supply the voltage. And the new voltage is now from the battery..gotcha...done and dusted. thanks again!
-
OK.. So this is it then in the drawing right... So the positive that was originally goes to the pump goes into the Relay to activate the Coil and turn on. But how does this Bypass the original Relay used as that is what i wanna do. I want to re-wire the pump switch, where do i get that switch wire from? This is for an R33 by the way? Cheers

Beautiful..uhh ur a farkin champion mate yeh i know basics of relays..N/O and N/C..just didn't know what the fark was going on A lot easier now! Thanks
-
Uhh ok..still clueless! Maybe I should buy the relay from Jaycar first... Are there many terminals on it or just the 3...Switch Earth and Positive Care to elaborate A LOT LOT Deeper for a stupid guy like myself. ie. terminals...WHAT wire goes WHERE, and in what TERMINAL!!! I'm a 1st yr Electrician so i know basics, but not that far!!

Ha ha..yeh guys congrats. I got my P's on the 28th of June..3 days before the new rules came out..so pleased. And now I have my unrestricted...YAY $145..and the test was easy Was shittin it..anybody read the book..cas I didn't!! Didn't know u had to read a book till i did the test!

Rang my friend up dis morning. you guys would never believe this. The number plates were not on their system..not only that, they weren't registered on an AU Falcon..THEY WERE registered on a WRX!!!!!!!! So it looks like they were out on a mission for one thing only. Luckily I was with him and asked for their badges..otherwise it might of ended up a lot badder. Yeh my friend parks his car all the time in his backyard. They have to get through a roller door, then past his German Shephard...lol...but its only a pup..ha ha. But on a serious note...this is not funny. And yes..they don't use those lights up on their roofs with an exception for detectives. And they shine BLUE and RED..not just BLUE! So guys..be careful.

Hey Gezza, What i'd do to run it safely and more so RELIABLY @ 200kw..well..its touch and go with diff cars and setups and the way you drive it. For street driving: -R34 SMIC or FMIC (cheap as chips these days) -Walbro fuel pump -Spark plugs gapped @ 0.8mm -Electronic boost contoller (more reliable,no boost spiking, stays at your desired boost all the time everytime) REMEMBER RELIABILITY -Exhaust Cam..retarded a couple of degrees -Apexi pod filter, INSIDE A BOX (no exception) -Cold Air Intake -ECU remap or Apexi SAFC The tuner will set the boost pressure to safely get as close as possible to 200kw, i'm running 10PSI. But i'm getting it High Flowed soon. GOOD LUCK RJ

Yeh. My friend reported it yesterday. No outcome yet. Falcon was a a bit lighter than bronze colour, when it drove off we didn't notice a computer screen inside the car nor a CB Radio either. Not sure if all cops hold these. Even if they were detectives, they seemed too young..low to mid 20's. And i'm pretty sure it takes a while to rank yourself that high..atleast 10 years. None of them had guns, capsicum spray, hand held radios...etc etc. There are just too many reasons why they weren't real cops and not enough to make me believe they were genuine. We got pulled over just before sydenham, main road before the T intersection @ Tempe Tyres. I think its Sydenham rd..not too sure. After my friend was on the phone, we left and caught up to them within 20 secs of driving, he was on the phone for atleast 2 mins. And there were no traffic lights between the point where we stopped to when we caught up to them. I'll be sure to let you guys know the outcome. I don't mind cops, if i'm doing somethin stupid then yeh fine, I prob deserve it, but if they're just bein diggheads bout a small situation, ie cruising with friends, loud exhaust, then thats where i get pissed off. Thanks for your support guys.

I was in my friends WRX the other night. We were driving home from Petersham towards Rockdale, accelerating fast but not over the limit, rev out 1st gear then just hit 2nd a couple of times. By the way he has a Megasonic BOV which attracted a lot of attention. Anyways, I looked in the passenger side mirror and saw a plain AU Falcon with normal number plates on it with 4 ppl in the car 3 males and a female driver, thought nothing of it so we continued as normal. Friend got a phone call so he pulled over and the Falcon passed us but slowed down...we thought it drove off. When my friend finished the phone call, we went back on our way. We caught back up to the Falcon but we were still doing the speed limit. It pulled over and let us pass, which i thought was very very weird. We then took our normal shortcut and 20metres from turning the street we see hear a siren from behind..it didn't sound like a typical Cop siren, they then put a blue flashing light up on their roof. The female driver told us to turn off the car. 2 people get out, the 2 males from the back seat. "Licence please" he says. My friend kindly handed it over. Then the Female driver comes out along with the male in the Front passenger seat. We had 4 cops surrounding us. Each of them in plain clothes. This is where I started to shit myself. Funny thing is, EACH one of them had torches, and asked BOTH of us to get out of the car. And they were also considerably young early 20's...we started to get suspiscious. They asked us where we were off, to where we were from and reasons why. Then they asked my friend to open up his bonnet. So he agreeably did. "Your blow off valve is quite loud, my friend" one guy said. "You should really get that fixed and plumbed back". I thought..hmm..he knows his shit. Whilst 2 cops were checkin under the bonnet, the 2 others were scoping inside the car. I over heard a couple of words.."alarm, immobiliser and pin code" Thats when i got really suspiscious...so i asked to see their badges. They all looked at eachother. One said "don't be a smartarse".."both of you please get back in your car" My friend got his Licence back and the cops just left it at that. We quickly took the licence plate. And were thinking..."what the f**k just happened". Should we report this. Or is it pointless. I believe that they were going to hi-jack us and probably have done this before. Probably had a tow truck ready to lift the car. But to our suspiscions they got scared.. Mystery...

New fuel pump???.. hmmm..my suggestion is YES. Depending on how old your car is. I have a 94 gtst, i upgraded to a Walbro but only because my stock one started failing at 198rwkw. you'll be pushing the fuel pump, and if it's old like my one was it'll soon die out. Maybe it won't. Maybe it will. But you wouldn't want to hit detonation whilst giving it a hit and losing your engine along with it. Engine..$2500...fuel pump...$160 for a Walbro or $380 for a direct replacement Tomei...i'd choose the cheaper alternative Check out Performance wise...they got what you need. RJ.

I think i just made a mess in my pants.. i have a black R33 aswell. always wanted to know what a carbon boot would look like. Check Carmate and Viva Garage..both prices a fairly diff..quality wise..well..you'll just have to try it out! RJ

Thanks Guys All a good help!

I think burnout is a lil better!!

As per Topic title Does anybody know if this will fit. Cheers RJ

OK, heres just my 2 cents. You need to ask yourself these 2 Questions!!! 1. What are your power goals (200kw, 250kw, 300kw???) 2. Are you going to mod your car any further in the future? These come in to factor of which ECU will bring out the full potential from your car and thus presenting you with your respected goals. So here I say...find out what your typical goal is Also what comes into perspective are - Budget - Reliability of engine ie. 300kw you will be lookin in investing further with your engine eg.bottom end. So tell us these and i'm sure we could head you into the best direction Cheers. RJ
