  5. in that case i would be suspicious of the extra load the car was carrying on that long trip a week or two before it let go.... ive been informed that the PFC doesnt retard timing when knock levels become high, so i guess what ever load the tuner puts the car on the dyno is what the tune is made for cheers for the reply mate

  9. yeah sometimes i like to throw in a few core exercises some are: knees to elbows (hanging on a chin up bar then curling ur knees to ur elbows) Leg throws ( lay on the ground with someone standing behind u, grasp theyre ankles and get them to throw ur legs to the ground) Prone holds combined with medicine ball twists and crunches theres a million things u could do hey...be creative lol
  10. deadlifts and squats are two of the best core buliders u can do IMO if u want to further improve it, avoid using machines and where possible do ur exercises standing up or with no back rest ie instead of doing seated shoulder press witha bar bell do it standing up etc.... u will generally lift less unsupported though If u wanna protect ur back, build up slowly and dont go too hard to quick... and if u are performing these exercises and u feel even a slight tweak in ur back FOR GOD SAKE STOP!!...ur only goin to make a small tweak worse and its goin to be alot sorer when u cool down
  11. hmmm interesting thanks for the reply... it was my number six cylinder and all the rest were fine im assuming because that cylinder is at the back of the engine it gets alot hotter causing it to detonate/ping Also just before i noticed the car blowing blue smoke i took the car on a long drive from sydney to Wagga, the car was loaded up pretty heavy, id say it would have been carrying an extra 350-400 kg then it usually would. could this cause the engine to detonate/ping due to the extra load?
  12. Pretty much what my number 6 looked like when it let go.... it had standard pistons running 285rwkw. what generally causes the piston to break away like that... is it just cause they're weak? or is there other contributing factors?
  13. I think he was hell bent on pulling out the engine and stripping it... Stop being logical Rolls

  18. oh dont worry, crap can and does get in there sometimes we had a truck that was goin from sydney to brisbane and the thing was gutless... ended up pulling off the fuel pick up line between the tank and lift pump to find that there was all types of grassy crap comin out of the fuel tank

  20. looks to be a 26 Plenum and throttle body set up
  21. This i agree with i dont agree that a high displacement pump ie tomei/Jun would empty a stock sump as quick as some people say it would to have pressure u must have restriction, the pump can flow as much as it wants but its only goin to reach a certain point before the pressure relief is reached and dumped back to sump and buy putting the restictors in the head maximum system pressure will be reached quicker and therefore reduce the flow leaving more in the sump if im missing something let me know
  22. ive already spent 20k in engine mods/drive line mods alone, and ive done pretty much all the work myself and thats shopping around for my parts AND i still have about another 6k to get it goin
