Gtr Joey's R32 Gtr E-Flex, Twinscroll 83/75 Results
GTR_JOEY replied to GTR_JOEY's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ok so ive been driving the car around for a couple of thousand kms now and everything seems to be running quite well The tune is a full E-flex tune done by the Boys at Unigroup Engineering Needless to say Myself and the the unigroup Guys were all very impressed with the results of the big dirty plain bearing Borg Warner. Looks like the money for the twin scroll was well spent. Cam timing was set up to bring it on nice and early and as per usual the Tune is nice and safe on both E85 all the way down to 98 PULP The only difference in the two lines in the graph is that there was more boost added to the mid range for when i wanna bump up the power for the drag strip. How does it drive on the street? Fu#king brilliant, throttle response is awsome and its starts pulling hard at around 4500. Really enjoying the ethenol, gets a bit of wheel spin in second in the dry .. havent run 98 yet but will be for the longer drives Wanna Give a big thanks to: Yavuz, Mark, Tyson and Zack at Unigroup engineering, and for all the extra hours you guys put in and for making this result as good as it could be Wing at Alpha Omega for the brilliant job on the surge tank and helping to get that set up along with the new Brembo brake kit Paul (Piggaz) and Stevo (N1GTR) for all the running around you guys have done to help me out while i was away at work Hax at Performance exhaust for persisting with the exhuast set up to get it 100% (even though you hated the job) haha -
Hi guys, So after more then 2 years of research, saving cash and waiting for parts the R32 is finally at a stage where im happy to post the specs and results (i only say that as there is always more work to be done ). The final result is already posted in the 400rwkw thread (THANKS PIGGAZ!!! lol) but i know from replys in some threads and a few PMs ive received that there is a few people interested in knowing the specs of the build as there isnt alot of info on the Borg Warner turbos. I bought the car about 3 years ago from another member. It was running a lazy 280rwkw on a pair of nismo GT lemans turbos with an Apexi fc and some nismo injectors, Everything else engine wise was stock apart from the upgraded clutch which was a Nismo copper mix single plate. One morning on start up i noticed the car was blowing alot of blue smoke ..NOT GOOD! that eventually developed into a miss fire and i had absolutly 0 compression in cylinder 6. Later on down the track we descovered that the fuel pump was receiveing only 9 Volts, probably cause of engine failure was a lean out. So we pulled the engine out and stripped it down, as suspected, piston ring land failure. It was time to build a new engine.Originally i was going to build my old engine from the ground up, as everyone whos built a forged engine knows this gets very expensive very quickly. Luckly for me i cam across a engine for sale off another member that already had a full build close enough to the specs i was chasing. After looking through the results of the Rb26 thread and talking to Yavus at Unigroup and Geoff at Full-Race i decided to try something a little bit different and opted to go for a high single turbo set-up with a Full Race manifold and a Borg Warner turbo. Yavuz didnt care what turbo i used, as long as it was big, and there was only one haha The engine was bolted in and the car was sent off to Hax at Performance Exhaust where a 4inch dump pipe was made and the gates were plumbed in. The waste Gates were are real pain in the A$$ to plumb in but Hax did such a brilliant job. Here is some pics of his work. Once the exhaust was all plumped in and the hot side plumbing to the intercooler was finished it was off to Unigroup The engine was Built in Melbourne by Creatd Motorsports, specs are as followed: Capacity 2.6L R33 GTR crank Tomei rods CP pistons Jun Oil pump Standard water pump Standard sump filled to 6L (Race pace sump to be installed soon!!) Tomei type B cams Breathers from sump to head (passenger side) Tomei oil restrictor Exhuast and Turbo Full-Race twin scroll manifold BW S300 83/75 .91 housing 4inch dump pipe High flow cat 3.5inch exhaust after Cat Twin Tial 38mm waste gates Koyo 100mm intercooler Electronics and ignition Link G4 ECU Apexi AVC-R Boost controller Ross balancer and Crank trigger Ethenol Sensor and digital readout screen Split fire coil packs After market Ignitor New OEM coil pack loom Copper plugs Fuel system Nismo intake Fuel pump ALPHA OMEGA Billet steel CNC'd Surge tank Twin Walbro 400LPH pumps in surge tank Sard FPR ID2000cc injectors Twin entry fuel rail Braided lines all round Duel filters Bit of info on the surge tank, This is the first one of these and i was very impressed with it. Here are some specs and pics It was designed and built by Wing at Alpha Omego parts and services You can put in any standard sized in-tank fuel pump from 1 to 4 pumps: Walbro 255s, Walbro 400s, Aeromotive stealth, Deatschwerks DW200 and DW300 etc. ive got a pair of Walbro 400s in my setup, but if i ever wanted to shoot for maaaaaasive power you can just drop in another pump or two, plumb it up and that’s that. It’s got four 5mm electrical terminals sealed with ALPHA OMEGA custom Teflon fittings so you can run a straight or staged setup with relays and switches, and it also has provisions for a single or twin lift pumps and single or twin outlets - in any size up to ‘dash’ -16. More to follow

Oooops double thread post please delete mods

Ahh thats it 6466 Haha what's another couple of grand
-
Yep so single on a 2.6.. Like Paul said, right down low you can feel the torque of the 2.8 over the 2.6... Once everything starts to happen this set up is very similar to Paul's old set up which in my opinion was still a very good -5 set up No vct either Simon, once the tuning for the BW was done we tried to bolt up a precision 62-64?? The dump pipe didn't quite line up due to the large frame of the BW.. Yavuz was very keen to do a back to back and he believes response would have been very similar if not better then the BW, and that the precision would have given another 30-50 rwkw up top Must remember the bw runs a plain bearing as well
-
Haha your on Mark, they do sell those delicious donuts there at wsid... Adam like Paul just said, those runs were one after the other and I don't believe the ramp rate was changed as I was sitting right next to him for those runs. He just played with the AVC-R boost controller to give it more boost through the mid range. Possibly the gates are holding shut and sealing better as its not bleeding the boost off as early... I will ask him and get back to yas on that
-
Nope just more boost through the mid range when I decide I wanna drag it.. Yavuz set it up that with 2 different settings plus another for gate pressure which isn't shown Good to have options Cheers Dave, feels great on the street and I'm really happy with it
-
Specs and a proper write up to come. When I get the time... Not bad for a 2.6 and a $950 turbo
-
Lol that wasn't the final result ya moron
-
The turbo flattens off a fair bit as it started to choke But yea, good mid range.. Getting a touch of wheel spin in second in the dry
-
Mate it's done Just been flat out at work and haven't had time to post The big dirty Borg Warner pulled through well Over 380rwkw at 5500.. Results to be posted soon Beat me to it Paul!

This is quickly turning from a "who's got 400rwkw" thread, into type what ever the hell you like

This kid, bring a rubber glove for the cavity search -
I bet if you ran that on the Unigroup dyno it would make 402rwkw Like mark (MLR) said, I would love to see a few of the other big hp cars on the Unigroup dyno next weekend. Maybe bring their old dyno graph, compare it to a correct one, then throw it out
-
That's another good one.. Will be saving that one as well
-
Nice pics Mick This is one taken by Sinister at the sau show and shine nice pic i reckon
-
awesome thanks for that Terry Never really bought it for stress management, the fact that u reckon its good for muscle recovery and energy is good enough for me ill keep on using it
-
Hard to say Terry because at the time I started using it I also changed what protein I was using, I also started using a carb supplement, endura and infra red (per workout/amino acid supplement) I must say my though I did maintain good muscle mass and strength even though my weight and body fat % dropped enough that it was visible. I would even say my strength increased noticeably This is all after working 6-7 day weeks for over 10 hours a day in 30 plus degrees
