Coilpack Replacement - Bang For Buck? What Works The Best?
GTR_JOEY replied to eXquiSit's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've used splitfires on my 33 and near new OEM items on my GTR Both have worked very well... Though the GTR does have twice as much power and boost -
Now I'll have someone on my side in the twin vs single arguments
-
Looks like there is a fair bit of work in that twin set up, dunno how keen you would be to go single. The precision results lately are enough to turn even the most die hard fan of twins. In your position I'd be getting the -9s with the 1000s (maybe even 2000 if you plan on e85 in the future) Cams are debatable ( depends if you want every last hp) Got a nismo copper-mix twin plate myself and it's bloody great! Depending how cashed up you are I'd upgrade from the nistune too Sweet looking ride btw, conversion looks very clean and well thought out

That's it marko, Im pretty much just sticking to the same routine. Though I change the rep range every six weeks First is 3-4srts of 10reps Then 3-4 sets of 8, heavier then previously due to less reps Then 5x5s So far results have been good, what are tour thoughts though? Mitch, sometimes I split my shoulders and legs up into two different days just to give certain muscle groups more of a rest Ie if I do deadlifts and my core and hamstrings are fooked, I'll do shoulders the next day instead of legs
-
I've been doing a split routine for a while now and been seeing some good results I do Chest/tries Back/bis Legs shoulders Then just keep cycling through that. Every second session on a body part is the same exercises mainly focusing on compound lifts Ie Deadlifts Rows barbell/Tbar Heaves Dips Presses shoulder/chest Squats Weighted lunges Cleans and press etc Been working pretty well so far

I must admitt that compared to my old PFC, my Link G4 feels very good on light throttle applications as well as throttle response.. Dunno if that's placebo effect but I'm very happy with the link... Got mine for around 1700 from memory with map sensor. I also like the fact that if I blow off a pipe the car can still get me home without the cough and splutter
-
Yea they're an excellent fitness tool, We sometimes throw short sprints in our circuits and it sends the heart rate straight through tue roof.. Damn I feel it in my glutes and hamies though..
-
Next time your on the rower nick.. See how fast you can do a 500m sprint.. Now that's a flogging Best time we have here on our record board is 1:26 Obviously varies from machine to machine and resistance settings

Just don't drive it hard till it's tuned for the mods you have... End of story -
Doesn't that car belong to Japlink?

Yes, considering 90% of all posts are rubbish

Cheers GTS Saved me alot of iPhone typing One thing I will say though is that the links/vipecs haltechs are quite common now and you may find they are just as simple to install as a PFC, if not alot simpler then a d jetro -

Can't believe this hasn't been said, I'd be getting rid of the apexi fc and the afms.. For the cost of all that you could easily buy and install a far superior ecu such as a link G4 or a vipec.. Get rid of the afms Nismo pump will make 350 as long as it's got full voltage. Id1000s are a good option as long as you don't plan on making ALOT more power down the track or switching to E85. If your ONLY chasing 350 and you want it responsive I'd go GT SS though your set up must be spot on. -5s will make 350 alot easier and have the potential for 400rwkw but once again if your set up isn't correct, I've seen cars not make 350 on-5s... Usually due to exhaust restrictions Also loom at getting some cam gears You ll also save money by keeping your stock air box if you still have it.. Is good or 400rwkw+ -

Whos is? I dare say you will be wasting your money on a bigger cooler at that power level.. If anything you will loose response for bare minimal gains up top -
Dunno if any one else has found this but, I was using international protein synergy 5 for the last 6 weeks, I then ran out before my new order came in so I resorted to buying a tub of optimum nutrition gold standard whey. Took that for 2 days and had an upset stomach the whole time. I received my new protein 4 days ago (Allmax ISOFLEX) and now the upset stomach is gone. I've been off dairy for a month now and I think my body is "out of practice" at dealing with lactose. The isolex I now take is 99% lactose free as well.. Anyone else had experiences like this?

The bloke who owned my built engine before me was running GT-SS's and he reckons it made 355rwkw at something 26-28 pound (can't remember the exact figure). Tuned and built by Creatd in Vic, so dunno if their dyno is happy but it was impressive -
Yes yes, we re all very impressed by your $10,000 block, go to bed ya drunk

As I've found on the forum, most people either go for the bodybuilder look and just pump weights, or just wanna be lean so they do alot of cardio.I hate looking skinny and I hate running out of puff on a run. I also do 2 strength circuits a week which would improve cardiovascular endurance as well. Like yourself I like to have a good all round ability. Idealy I'd like to have the fitness and strength that is comparable to that of a rugby league centre or winger.. Maybe a Justin Hodges or a Mark Gasnier would be good. Martial arts would be good, I was doing BJJ and Muay Thai for about 6 months but there's just not enough time in the week to work full time and be doing all these other extra activities In terms of running do you do much longer distance stuff? More towards 5km and over? I find once I'm past 5km my pace drops off a touch. I'll PM you the link now
-
all good man you can just PM me haha

How did you go abouts getting it off the line Jez? Did you just dump the clutch at 6 grandish?... Or did you load up the driveline a touch while having the handbrake on, then dump the clutch..?
-
If you like birds I can direct you to a blog that you may find interesting,.. I imagine you have face book...?

Yea for sure, down to around 87kg from 96ish.. It's not just the weight loss though, I've changed my diet as well. Not to start preaching vego or vegan but I've cut alot of animal products out Inc red meat, cows milk, eggs etc.. I only really eat white meat now and it's definatly helped my cardio. My body just feels so much more efficient when running. A mate told me who does a fair bit of running that long distance runners who don't wanna give up meat will go vego a month out from a race as it helps them become more efficient. It's not as if I've lost strength either. Just the other day I PB'd in deadlifts making 200kg while in the next session I managed 4 sets of 10 at 130.. Anyway (end vego rant) The track was pretty flat I must say though it was easily off set by having to do 3 full 180 degree turns every 600m as the track is marked out that way. I imagine have a hilly route doesn't exactly help your times but at least u have a bench mark to reference
-
Awesome!! Well done Jez Gives me hope for a 10
-
Good times birds, if you can manage a 10:30 that will be fairly quick Last run session I did was on Monday.. The session was 3x 2.4km with a 3 min break in between, times were 9.27 min 9.38 min 9.44 min Could have probably shaved 30 seconds off the first run but the idea was to try and run an identical time each run, was well buggered afterwards
