i would have my foot 1/4 way down on the clutch while going up the slopes so that the car wouldnt shudder and stall LOL, good old leanring manual days, i dont do that anymore but in the beginning it was pretty much inexperience and i was scared that the car would stall or roll back or something, u get what i mean ?

hey john, did u get a new flywheel or did you machine the current one? im wondering if its worth it to get a new flywheel, if it isnt needed then i dont wana spend the money, and how much stronger would the say the clutch is compared to standard? can it handle some abuse or is it like standard, i.e do a couple of normal launches and its toasted? i know the clutch toasting process of my clutch now was speeded up by me riding it alot, coz it was was so easy to ride and i was learning to get used to manual on it, lots of steep slopes didnt help either.

how much does a rebuilt Jim berry clutch cost? something for around 250kw? just an estimate would be good...

i think my car will make around 230 to 250awkw after everythin is done, so clutch is good enough for the job

yeh, as long as its a bit stronger than stock im happy, ive only done a launch once at 5K rpm and thats it, i never need to launch as i dont drag etc just a street car so should be good enough i hope.

btw why the hell are people still on holiday, NPC will open up on the 11th, if all goes well car be ready on 11th for dyno. Xmas and NY is over get back to work everyone !

out of all of that all that was needed was one synchro replacement, and full service and brake pads and the clutch which i found out about today.

haha one day bro one day, when i have enough cash saved up,my plans are to buy a R34 GTR V-Spec II NUR and then modify the R33 upto about 350awkw, if i earnt this money i wouldnt be as sad as i am now, the sad reality is that i am 18, unemployed and still have another 2 years of uni to go,

hey bro, i would love to get the nismo twin plate, heard awesome things about them, but the sad truth is i have now spent nearly 7 grand on the car and thats not including the clutch, it hurts me because all i needed to spend was about 3 or max 4 grand, the rest was all things i wanted not things i needed, Dan recommended the heavy duty clutch from NPC, the one that replaces the stock clutch, he said it would be strong enough for upto 280awkw,i dont know if it will be able to handle launches etc and im calling it quits for now, once this stuff is done, all im gona do is service it, ive spent way too much money on things that werent needed and that money could have been spent elsewhere, -FML-

UPDATE: standard clutch is nearly toasted on the GTR, so ordering a new NPC clutch with Dan, i budgeted for s**t to happen but not s**t this expensive lol, oh the wonders of the skyline/GTR ownership, well hopefully shouldnt have to replace in quite a while, and im suprised standard one lasted about 80000Ks lol especially since i learnt driving manual in the GTR haha, if i had a car a few more days the clutch would have started slipping about 5mm of meat left on it, big thanks to Dan for going over the car and noticing it, :'(

hey john, from looking at the estimated reciept Dan made up for me, the machining is costing 132 including GST for a the pair, so i presume thats for front and rear.

got quoted 350 dollars to tint my car at Tintacar.com, in milton, midnight express package darkest legal tint and 25 years warranty or something, i remeber when my mate who had a monaro got his windows tinted he also got this heat reflecting layer on front windshield and back window, it was very very light but it kept the car relly cool and stopped alot of heat getting in, was wondering if thats legal or not.

oh noice bro, was it there around 18th december, i saw quite a few GTRs and skylines there,my mate with a evo8 helped me drop the car off and he was shocked at how big ERD was and how many cars Dan had here, the only problem i find is the distance, 50Ks nearly from St.Lucia. i remeber oblivions gtst and a white r33 gtr which was awesome, im just hoping that nothing happens to my synchros again , but again i wont be shifting at redline in 3rd gear ever again, lesson learnt, respect your car as an ageing beauty,and treat it like it means the world to you, you f**k it and it will f**k you back, il have a look at yours when i go to get mine.

just new synchros and bearings being put in, my 4th gear synchro was worn, so i thought might as well change all of them and have less to worry about later. i dont knw if people classify that as a rebuild lol usually when people say im rebuilding my gearbox theyr putting in a OS Giken gearset or something along those lines.

nah man there is sum special equipment u need to open the forks up on the gearbox, only a cuple of guys have it in qld, and the guy Dan at ERD uses, just got back today from holidays, so gearbox work will start today, the rest is all nearly done, probably wil be monday or tuesday next week if everythin goes according to schedule and theres no hicups etc. brake pads are being put in today, machining rotors etc will be finished today as well i think, power fc is in, engine check light was on so Dans troubleshooting that, front pipes and high flow cat need to be put in, then the full service needs to be done all fluids etc, cam gears and timing belt and water pump and a new battery wil also be put in, thats all i can think off, after that its going to be off to EFI for dyno tuning and then on the highway home to St. Lucia

@damit, sure mate, thanks, il get my car back hopefully this week or next week, il check them out on a thursday meet or something which you should come to btw lol.

alrite mate, thanks for the help, im gona get the car tinted first, then i might follow the tutorials and clean the headlights up and buy the HID kits needed , the series 3 headlights would be the easier solution but since they retail around 2 grand a set, cant justify that kind of cash, have been lookin around for second hand ones to pop up for quiet a bit, no luck so far, but thanks anyway,

hmmm i c, so how much do reckon it would be for the full set? yes im lookin for both high and low beam, i dont mind paying more but i wana buy local somewhere not from ebay unless its an australian store online like justjap etc,

LOL , alrite well once i get the car back il go and check out supercheap auto then, also planing on geting windows tinted, just checked out some samples and the darkest legal tint isnt dark at all lol

sorry might have not been clear, i just mean the corner lights, my mate bought a hid kit but he kept the corner lights stock, and it looked weird since he had white bulbs for the headlights while the corner bulb was still yellow, so thats what i mean, here you go have a look at this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...;hl=r33+GTR+HID look at damits post youl know what i mean.

oh i c, im lookin to buy something local, would you recommend some kit in particular or should i just look around supercheap auto/autobarn etc and just pick a kit up from there, dont mind paying upto 150 dollars for the kit and bright white bulbs for the parkers.

anyone know how much a full HID conversion kit for the r33 gtr would cost, also wana but in bright white parkers, and is it simple to install ? thinking about getting it for my car
