  1. Yeah looks nice and clean! Its all happening!
  2. Thanks mate... Some updates were posted half hour ago on Vacy Smash Repairs FB page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Vacy-Smash-Repairs/303873696482857 These pics show the interior painted. head over to their page and give it a like for more updates.
  3. Thanks mate, the man hours in fab work add up real quick when it comes to one off custom parts... But the end result is worth the effort and cost! The wiring was a disaster! Looking forward to having it all neat and tidy, the idea is to spend the money on it now and hopefully keep any electrical gremlins away for the future!
  4. I would have just built a GTR if i wanted that, i wanted RWD and something a little different... I love driving the rwd GTT but also always preferred the GTR look... So figured why not have both! It is not a nice job! I found the glue was the worst part, i guess as they know it will be covered in carpet etc that they just dont car what it looks like but they managed to get it everywhere and it is really stubborn when you try to remove it! I went through quite a few wire wheels...
  5. Just the original white... Call me Mr Original... lol I plan on keeping the whole car looking plain as a GTT/R should look. I will be keeping stickers/logos to a minimum, however the companies that have supported me so far will also have a say in this.
  6. That is why it is rubbed down And also why the car has no windows etc...
  7. The amount of hours grinding away body glue and crap is amazing, i spent ages on it! Its going to look good once done, i guess nobody will appreciate the man hours involved until they attempt it themselves, i know i didnt lol
  8. Another updated shot, interior is all rubbed down...
  9. Thanks mate, really looking forward to the next few weeks as the car evolves! Mocking up panels was one thing, but seeing them being moulded to the car and taking shape is SO much better!
  10. The newer pics will be put on FB, but ill keep this build thread for the technical aspects and DIY images etc... Any questions, advice or just general discussion can be kept here too! If it benefits other members then its a bonus!
  11. Had a look and realised most of the photos from the Brakes, bodywork, underbody etc are not on this PC... But here are a couple of the brake setup from my old phone... So the kit is the Alcon 365mm Motorsport kit from Brakes Direct, not to be confused with the street spec kits they advertise, the calliper and pads are completely different - Ditched the old backing plates to make them fit, will run a brake ducting setup later - Rotor size comparison - And the finished product all fitted and bled -
  12. Pretty happy with it! Ummm i thought they had, hence why i didnt post anything... Ill look back now! Edit - There is an image here of them fitted - http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/358438-34geeteetee-daily-track-project/page-102 But no official update on them.
  13. There are plenty more pics if you head to Vacy Smash Repairs FB page, here is a recent one -
  14. The car is now underway - You can keep an eye on FB for updates on Vacy Smash Repairs FB page, give them a like and you will be the first to see...
  15. This brings us up to date with the current progress, things are all happening VERY fast now and the car is taking shape... In the next few weeks you will likely see images of the finished product, after those the car will be re-wired, suspension modified and aligned and then its time to test... Unloading is not so fun anymore - Thanks to Brians Race Ramps it wasnt too painful...
  16. When it was ready to come home for final prep prior to the panel shop we found the trailer no longer suited the car, so took to it with an angle grinder... Keen eyes will notice the front bar and spare wheel on the trailer are now missing to get the thing to fit on... We will re-assess the trailer situation once its all complete!
  17. Making everything clear was fun - (You can see the accusump line in the pic above) The custom undertray extension was made too, this stays fixed to the car when the front end is removed -
  18. Fab work for the front end was also done by JEZ and his team, it took quite a lot of thinking and measuring to make this all work but the end result was amazing! You can see here the custom oil cooler, intercooler and headlight bracket - Once fitted we decided the front bar needed more supports so we got his fab guy to extend the bracket outwards -
  19. Guages were something i looked into, but it made sense to get a Haltech dash instead... I was aiming to get a logger setup but a display dash came up at a price i couldnt argue with brand new in the box. Carmen and i spent ages sanding the panel down to fit, the paint on the panel was temporary and i used it to line up the dash etc while the paint was tacky, it will be sanded back and sprayed later once complete - You will also notice the dash is no longer from the GTT, i sourced a GT dash to delete the triple gauge setup i had as i will no longer require it. I will add a switch panel to this later and post pics once its done -
  20. Times have changed a lot since i started the build I couldnt justify the street use as it was too easy to get into strife, once the track days started i realised that was where the car could be enjoyed most and instead of paying $1000 per year in rego i could just add that to the track day funds Plenty more updates coming as time permits!
  21. First test drive down the street was interesting... No exhaust and front end got some funny looks from the neighbours -
