i got quoted $3100 + gst + tyres, and when i got the invoice it was only $3210 including gst and including a blue slip...so yeh i was pretty stoked about that cos i was expecting to pay ALOT more....

+1 for that, ive gone from a 13b powered s13 silvia, to a 99 rs four s stagea, and i LOVE it! Most awesome and practical car ever, even more than i thought it would be or what i would need it to be. So smooth and enjoyable to drive, and (so far) havent been hassled by the cops. Also its fun when you're at the lights and every car turning past you is snapping their neck looking trying to figure out WTF im driving! yeh i just had a flick through both of those, can't really say im a fan myself. but i would agree that it would be more suitably compared against against a wrx wagon...

i dont know how to check what error code it is? just engine light on, rough ride, turn off then on, all good. will take it to my mechanic to have a look 2morrow.

sorry to dig up an old topic, but it didnt have any responses and i am having the same issue with my series 2. have also searched the forum and most other responses appear to be coil packs, however Alan mentions above that doing so didn't seem to fix things 100%. Basically i've been driving the car since thursday night, and have had the engine light with the rough ride happen twice, and its fixed by simply turning the car off and then turning her back on. i drove the car quite a bit over the whole weekend and it didnt happen at all, until thismorning.

mines all done! had her now since last tuesday

okay, so i got her starting, she has a sneaky little immobilizer in her! so i put her back in the garage last night after having a bit of a fiddle, how's this for garage clearance?

yeh kinda tossing up what to do with her....ive had the speed side of things with my last car, and to be honest to get good times out of a car like this is gonna cost a bit....so im thinkin i might airbag the thing n go down that path....

yeah Ian i might make an appearance, though wont be jumping on the dyno as she is basically stock standard. But would be a good chance to see a few other nice cars n to show off my new pride and joy might also have to organize a photo shoot with you once ive done what i need to do to her hehe

okay well after a little bit of stuffing around, i finally got her towed home to my place last night, and my god, what a beautiful car! such a nice ride and everything is fantastic. Though the car could do with a bit of a buff and polish. But i am stoked can't wait to have rego done, a mate is doing it for me so i dont have to deal with that "random" check n wait a month n stuff. Will post pics once i get a bit of time. Oh and for anyone on here who is a bit switched on with electrics n things, wonder if they can help me out here? I put a new battery in, as the one the car came with was totally dead. Now the stereo n headlights and everything else works great, EXCEPT the car wont start. I can clutch start it no worries, but cant start with the key. When i turn the key there is nothing, no noise or anything, i think my mate said not even any clicking or noise from the solenoid for the starter motor? any ideas?

holy sh*t, new farm road is just around the corner from my place!

i think the main hassle is getting time off work to go get it inspected...im getting the shop to put everything back on my car (xenons and the like) after its complied but speaking to the rta the inspection is basically just to make sure the id of the car is correct n stuff like that

so wat do they actually check at this inspection?

Hey Guys n Girls, My car is currently going into compliance, and i was just wondering what steps come next, to get it registered n stuff. I know it has to get blue slip n stuff, but can you get it registered straight away? Also i heard something about needing to get an inspection done like a month after all this? I read the importing faq but it didnt seem to quite answer this, can anyone help me out? Oh im in NSW by the way! Cheers, Alex
