  1. Hey Josh Just noticed this thread. I did a trip to Victoria recently during this day the temp air temp was 36deg and max of 45deg. My trans started to play up. I believe it to be due to its temp overheating. The symtoms are, if in manual mode it drops into 4th and will not allow 5th to be selected. If in D it hunts in and out of ratios. This is not the first time I have experianced this problem. In cooler conditions after a long trip I have experienced the same problem in the hills around Mt Ousley (long climbs at hwy speeds). I feel a larger trans cooler should solve the prob. I have never bothered as it usually only fails for a very short period. The vic trip it continued for hours, causing me to drop speed to around 100k (insane) to allow trans to stabilise.
  2. Hey I am after right hand exhaust manifold. Is this available. Thanks
  3. Hi All Thought I might give an update on my Turbo removal. Took about 3.5 hours. This included spending about 30 minutes to remove one 10mm bolt holding the heat shield. Had to remove exhaust, tail shaft and transmission mount bolt so I was able to push engine/trans unit across to the right to allow removal of turbo. I was lucky to have the use of a two post hoist and 3/8 drive sockets whit swivel heads. Priced a new unit from Nissan $1950 plus tax, two weeks delivery. Precision Turbochargers Sydney approx $1400 yet to be confirmed. What had the turbo done? Exhaust turbine was still there but had lost some of its vanes. Bearings were seized also. I think this happened after the turbine damage, as once power was lost turbo could still be heard trying to boost for a couple of days. Looking forward to refit later this week and more torque. Muz
  4. How involved is the removal process? If I do it the car will be on stands. So not a lot of room to move. I seem to remember earlier posts quoting five hours to remove. If this is the case maybe I will do it myself to save a dollar. Thanks Muz
  5. Thanks Scotty Seems that the part is the correct one. It is a mystery that it does not fit my tailshaft. Any chance that the M35 had varying size tailshafts for, HICAS, ARX or any other of the model/accessory types? Thanks Muz
  6. Hello All I have purchased a new tail shaft centre bearing for my 2002 M35 unfortunatly the supplied part does not fit, the ID is too small. The dealer is no help saying that the part is for my car or I have a different tailshaft. The supplied box shows part No C7521-OV526 it looks like it has been returned before I was given it. Any help on what might be the correct part number or an equivilant Australian delivered car that similar bearing may come from. Thanks Muz
  7. Hi All I am posting to add to the numbers of blown turbos. 2002 RS had 47k on the speedo when purchased, have used sinthetic oil changed every 5k but turbo failed at 106000k. was only commuting when it failed. Just stopped making power. The two days prior the usual turbo whine did change. So you will hear difference. Have done probably 200k since it is a dog now. So now Im looking for a turbo replacement. Any ideas around Sydney. Still a beautiful car. Muz
  8. Hi Guys I won't be making it tomorrow will have to get to the next meet. Had the M35 in for a drive line vibration found it to be universal joint. Not replaceable. So Having tail shaft modified to enable fitment of replacable universal joint. Have fun. Murray
  9. Having driven my car with HICAS and without I think it was a better handling high speed car when it had HICAS. Muz
  10. Liam My boost guage was intermitant also. I pulled the sensor apart, stuffed around with conectors, to no avail. I found that the plastic hose had a split. Make sure that this has not happened to yours. Muz
  11. Hi Nick If your car has HICAS you will have a light that comes on with ign. You can see the HICAS control on the back of your rear sub frame. When looking under from the back it looks kind of like a wiper motor blocking the view of the diff. Mabye you could google and get a picture. Muz
  12. Would love to come to the Stagea meet. Bikenut, Murray, Helensburgh, M35 ARX Could you post address again. I have read most of this topic and can only find that it is in Rhodes. 7/6 Thanks Muz
  13. Hey Stag250 Im interested in your repair of the high stop light. Once you removed the actual light panel from the car, did you access the LEDs by cutting through the bottom of the black plastic strip? Or, were you able to remove the red lense from the black strip, and then access the LEDs? Strange that this has failed on two cars. Thanks Murray
  14. Hi Chris Sorry i was not very clear with my request. The TV can recieve the sound for channel seven here in Sydney, but picture is not clear, like it needs horizontal hold adjusted(old style tv's had this), Didnt have an idea on the button prices, saw previous post you mentioned you had them available so thought I would ask. PM me with price if you prefer. I can take photo of the dash tomorrow and post it. Thanks Murray
  15. Hi Chris CAn You give me a price for the english buttons M35. And if im taking out the dash, an idea on what I need to get the TV working, I will be changing the stereo at the same time. Thanks heaps Murray
  16. hi Blair I have had aN M35 for about 4 months. What a great car. Mine is a sport model cloth trim, three guages above standard size CD player. Goes like a rocket with 3inch nismo exhaust system. The all wheel drive and hicas make for a very stable car at speed and amazing handling on wet winding roads. First auto I have owned and I have been suprised that is still an enjoyable car to drive. Yes it uses fuel mine is showing 8.6 km per litre at the moment. Best I have seen is 9.2km per litre. Down side was a cracked rear sub frame you can see this area above the rear brake rotors on either side, (look through the wheel). I dont know if any others have had this problem. A new sub frame was ordered from Nissan Japan. I could go on for ages about this great car, just look under at the running gear and you will want one. Murray
  17. Thanks all for the info Regards Murray
  18. Hi All I have An M35, tv has sound but no picture, chook do you sell the components to make the Tv show picture? If so i would be interested to buy. Anyone had the center dash out on an M35. Ive had the consul out but the panel covering the radio up to the TV is tight, some tips on its removal would be appreciated. Thanks Murray
  19. Hey Cogdog In reply to your enquiry about auto service. Is the transmission the same as the Aust delivered 350Z? It must be the same as the V35 skyline. This doesn't answer your Question but may open the options for specs. Murray

  22. May get time tonight I'll take the wheels off and take some pics. Then try and post. Yes I'm really at a loss as to how this component could crack. Hoping to have it repaired soon Murray
  23. Hi Duncan My Vin 6U90000NM35311957 Rear crossmember I was lucky enough to buy the car (nice piece of gear) for a decent price, found two nice cracks in the cross member when checking brake pad life. The cracks are lateral between the top control arm mounting points. No idea how they occured. I've considered straped onto boat to hard. Aggressive launching, strapped onto a dyno, anyway the seller is suppose to be having one sent out from Japan I've been waiting since 13/2. You shoud try waking up and thinking about going for a drive a not being able too. At least it is clean. Just wanted to enquire abuot price and availability from Nissan Aust. Thanks for your help Murray
