Timing Belt Problem.....a Mystery?
ELMOHASA33 replied to blitz r33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I cant belive how inept your first mehcanic must be changing a rb timming belt takes like an hour max and is one of the easyest timming belts to change "id hate to see that guy try a twin cam v6" you should post his name or business name so others dont make the same mistake... maybe we should start a bodgie backyarder thread or somthing so we can list all these half assed grease monkeys -
man thats awsome i was stoked when i found a jap lighter and pack of smokes in mine i keep them on the bar as a momento first thing tomorrow im goin right through it ..... ps were is this flare ment to be located and what the hell is it ment to be used for "i recon road rage would be a whole lot more fun if flares were standard in all cars"

i realy dont think its the coils as they cuase a miss when faulty not a back fire your on the right track when you say its running rich back fires are caused when engine is to lean or to rich or the timming is out its most likly an air leak your air flow meter or fuel pump

this is the formula for working out compression ratio one cylinder swept volume + deck cc + head cc deck cc + head cc Example: 545 + 3.378 + 48 = 596.378 3.378 + 48 = 51.378 = 11.6:1 In this example, 11.6:1 the deck cc =12ccs neo head has 50 to 54 head ccs using this formula and these pistons bore would be 87 stroke 85 gives a 3031 ccs with a swept volume of 505.29887 per cylinder so 505.29887 + 12 + 50 =567.29887 12+50=62 567.29887 % 62 = 9.1:1 this is the unadjusted compression ratio "dosnt include head gasket any change in any of these figers will change comp ratio so ceck what you have

ive never tried this myself...since ive never owned an R33.... but apparently there is a wire to the Computer labelled No#53... cutting this wire....taping it up would disable the speed restrictor.... cutting any of the wires...you could always join it back up...so if i were you, id give that a shot.... why do you need to remove it? because how are you going to test this out? this would be the "cheapest" way without modding the ecu do you know if this will work for a gtst is it the same wire .... i have heard of this before and was told that #53 wire is the out put to the ignition module when the computer switchs it to earth the ignition is disabled if this is true its a verry easy cheep and safe way of disabling speed limiter im sure you have to cut more than one wire to install one of the hks or apexi units listed above so why would this method be dodgy
