  1. Hope this is the right spot for this. From what I understand aftermarket steering wheels are illegal if they don't have an airbag fitted and came with one... I am doing a little bit of work on the interior of my skyline and was thinking, how hard would it be to fit a steering wheel from a newer Nissan (was in an X-trail today of all things and was thinking it wasn't a bad looking wheel and that the plastic bits on there could be easily painted to colour match, so maybe something like that or similar) so that the look is updated while still keeping airbag functionality? comments/thoughts/instructions/maybe even estimates on price please? car I have is an R33 S2 gts-t Cheers

  3. I'm looking for a set of s2 headlights. Are there any cracks etc in the plastic? The clear plastic cover is all I'm replacing (comes apart at the clips/sealant with a bit of heat and a lot of umph) as my current ones are a little cracked and it kinda lessens the effect of the retro-fit I did on the lights, but I would be willing to buy the full units I guess. Would you be willing to post to Darwin NT?
  4. ive seen izntrbl's vids on youtube on how to change em, but im worried that they are HID and arent really legal in oz for same reasons i listed earlier (washers n self level) if he could do halogens would be orsm, as long as they done for RHD vehicles like we have here, but 675 US is starting to get beh with the exchange the way tis thinking worth it to jus DIY anyways, bit more end satisfaction if it comes up right, gotta find decent projector units first though
  5. keep us informed, pretty sure there'd be a market for it should the price be right
  6. let me get my head round this, its been a long day say for example my car is already silver.... I can buy say the blue satin ghost pearl flakes, mix with clear coat, and get my nearest panel shop to spray it and itll look sweet? the silver will have a pearlescent blue tinge in the light? bout how much would the spray cost at the shop?
  7. Cheers Nytsky, looking on ebay the projectors I found seemed to be High intensity discharge rather than halogen for the majority, but I will have another look later also looked at sending away, but yeah, US exchange went to the outhouse and the prices just seemed ...that and I kinda like the idea of doing the project myself was half thinking of buying some mazda 3 lights or similar and taking the projectors out of them if I cant source anything decent directly, but yeah, cost vs output again also, good tip bout the series 1, have heard that before, but mine is series 2 hence my troubles thanks anyway
  8. Ok, basically I have looked around the forums as well as the ADRs and have found HID is a lot of work as you need washers and either self levelling motors in the assembly or self levelling suspension on the car for it to be legal. What I have decided is I might just in the mean time go for halogen projectors with some blue vision bulbs in to get them nice and white but still legal. I have contacted slipstreamperformance about their motorcycle projectors, and they say they're fine, so if I were to obtain items similar to this and retrofit to my headlight casing, do you guys reckon there would there be any issues? https://www.slipstreamperformance.com.au/st...oducts_id=11337 https://www.slipstreamperformance.com.au/st...oducts_id=11338 Nothing structural would change and I would be willing of course to test them so they are calibrated to the correct heights/cut offs etc. Also, I would be putting CCFL rings around the outside of the lamps to provide 'angel eyes' as my parkers. Should look pretty schmick. Also, would any of you recommend any bezels (seen a few retrofits where they put the e46 bezel around the projector and it came up alright). Probably lookin at this after April (and no, not just cos I've been stimulated, jus good timing ) so no huge rush, jus lemme know your ideas. p.s. yeah, i know a lot of ppl are like 'why put beamer style lights on a skyline'... well 1: I like that style n want uniqueness (especially since so many 33s are on the road lately) and I havent found anything like this legally on a 33 B: the illegal versions I've found look pretty tough and Letter 3: The original 33 lights arent that great and I need to relense them any way as the glass/poly is sctratched n cracked, so why not give it a go at the same time cheers for the help guys
  9. Hi all I have a cut in the material on my drivers side door trim, on the arm rest kinda part. its been there a while and is not that big, only a couple of cm, but still... every time I look at it... I want it gone! Any ideas for a quick or cheap fix that'll work?
  10. Edge sidekirts, CMA style front bar (if I remember right), and some gtr2 rear pods all from carmate.com very happy with the overall look, altho may do the mirrors in the future that many veilside kits up here on r33 (which im not a fan of on the r33 really) and a lot of other front bars didnt really grab me. wanted a unique look, think I got it. Waiting on some LED fog lights to arrive, then I'll shove them on too. But back to original topic, the hood is good, id rate it
  11. just got the car back yesterday, been busy driving so only camera phone pics, sorry bout the quality
  12. quick question, the projector units, do they have a levelling device? dunno how it applies in the UK but here to do these conversions and have them comply with the ADR' (specifically ADR 13) in cars built after 1st October 1991 we have to have: 1. either a vehicle or a headlamp self levelling device to orientate the beam, as well as 2. a headlamp cleaning device to remove debris from the lens that may otherwise cause light refraction beyond the low beam cut-off line this is for HID of course but you see where I'm coming from. I've seen nozzles that just spray water onto the headlamp be used as a cleaning device so that shouldn't be too hard, it's the levelling that has got me thinking.
  13. I reckon you should do a guide for the headlights bro... series 2 owners cant really get the other series headlights on if what Ive been reading is correct. Help us out plz?
  14. let us know how he goes, also interested to get this done (in like a month or so tho)
